April 2015

Enjoy a Roman holiday with this month’s classic Cricket!

The Romans did a lot of great things, but their politics could get pretty rough, as you’ll see in the new serial “Tiro and the Conspirators.” But if things got too dirty, they could all go to one of their great bathhouses. In “Roman Bathing” you’ll read about how the Romans bathed everyday—hundreds of them together—in bath palaces that were also libraries, gymnasiums, and places to discuss the business of the day.

Political situations can be difficult in modern times, too. In Sri Lanka, a young boy leaves the city for the safety of a small village, only to discover that “There’s a Crocodile in Our Bath!”

In “My Brother, Joshua” a boy with Down syndrome in Australia gets a chance to blow his own horn. Pippa finally makes it home from her fantasy adventure in the final episode of “Dragonfly’s First Flight.” And in “The Girl Who Writes the Future,” Fable Thatcher and Luminè make a new friend as they search the City of Spires for the Cavern of Koth, the lair of the wizard Khaos.

After all that excitement you can relax with a new buggy adventure, some wise words from Old Cricket, and a new poetry contest about nature’s wild animals. All in this month’s Cricket.
