October 2017

You’ll never walk alone in this month’s creepy Cricket.

From ghosts to gargoyles to a girl raised by robots, this Cricket is filled with weird and spooky adventures. And for the Halloween party, all the bugs dress up as superheroes, even Pussywillow, who morphs into Supr Uglee.

As a special treat, we are happy to include the graphic story “The Monkey King,” a funny and fascinating retelling of the Chinese legend by Gene Luen Yang, who is the Library of Congress’s National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature and sponsor of the Reading Without Walls challenge.
