This should probably go in DtE, but it’s so crowded with my posts already that I thought I’d better put it hereXD
Anyway, yesterday – September 6th – was my third CBversary! Somehow I forgot to make a post, but I was thinking about this beautiful website and how much it means to me – how much it’s always meant. It’s been three years since I was looking at the cricketmagkids.com website, stumbled across the Chatterbox, and discovered a world of friendship and personality and happiness that I could never have imagined. Since then, every day of my life was lit up by the people here, and by being able to express myself and do so many of the CB’s fun things. Three years of being a CBer, of doing solo writes and poetry contests and SIs and Last to Post and random thoughts and long conversations with kindred spirits.
The CB’s had an impact on me as a person, too – I know more about myself, and about my opinions and worldviews, through talking with y’all, and I learned so much from those conversations. And it’s helped me in knowing how to interact with people irl (not to mention giving me the invaluable knowledge of what the different texting abbreviations and tone tags stand for!) And of course my writing. My writing wouldn’t be what it is today without the CB, especially my poetry. I didn’t really write poetry much before I came on the CB, but here I was introduced to that beautiful subtle non-rhyming style and I found my voice as a poet. Without Luna-Starr and peppermint and Luminescence and pangolin and Periwinkle and Artemis and Azalea and many others, it would never have happened. (If you’re one of those poets and you’re reading this, just want to say that you’re super talented and I just absolutely love your poetry – how do you do it to write such beatiful stuff eeeeeeeee–)
There are so many people here who’ve affected my life in beautiful ways – bottled_haze and CelineBurningBright and pangolin and Periwinkle and Darkling and LE and Flamarestii and an enormous amount of others. It doesn’t seem fair to put a long list here, for fear of leaving someone out by mistake. All of you have made the CB a super special place and you’re amazing <3 Talking with other CBers has always been wonderful.
Also a shoutout to the Admins! I’m so grateful that you take the time to keep the CB up and safe. Thank you <3
The fun activities, too… There’s nothing like an SI or a solo write or a chat thread or winning Last to Post (who would have thought that the Admins would have won it in the end? The first part of it, that is) or posting art or the Wishing Well thread (from a while back) and all the other things.
That’s about it… Three years, wow. It sort of feels like longer! To celebrate, I was thinking of a Q and A? So feel free to ask me anything:) I was also thinking of making a post with links to some of my favorite threads from over the years…? As a sort of looking-back-in-time thing, recalling the memories and all that.
Anyway! To finish off this post, confetti! And my hopes that all of you will get as much joy out of the CB as it’s given to me:)

Aw, thank you Amity:) I’m glad you’re on here too! I would love to chat sometime – realistically speaking, rn I’m probably too busy to participate in a chat thread, but once I have more time it would be really nice!

Happy CBversary Poinsettia! You’ve been such a central and unique presence here, and words cannot express how deeply your spirit’s been motivating me on a personal level. Your support and compassion for everyone has been really inspiring, and I’m really grateful for all the help you offered me in the past. I’ve been trying to recall your way of looking at the brighter side of things these past days because everything’s been feeling down, and it’s been helpful. I can’t say that it’s a miracle but it has been making things brighter than before. Thank you for teaching me to look from a different perspective in every piece of support you gave me. For that I remain forever grateful. This Monday, I found myself among the select few scheduled to make a presentation in front of our class on the topic of how to efficiently study particular subjects. I was English, and I had a unique viewpoint that I was planning to share, but to explain my thoughts I realized I had to write on the blackboard. The other two people in front of me were content to read from their notes and be done with things. While they were at it, I was sitting in my seat, jittery all over, and then suddenly this inner voice manifests in my head for a brief moment: ‘I think speaking in public is a wonderful experience’. I’m not sure if you remember but I read that in a post of yours- from when I forgot, maybe it was on random thoughts- but it was that moment I realized that I was being stressed out over nothing, because this was just an upcoming experience. In that case, reasons the brain, why not make the best of it? My turn came, I went up to the front, and let everything loose. It was like you said, a wonderful experience. I was in full control of myself. I delivered everything I had to say, cracked a couple of good jokes with everyone, and filled two blackboards with text along the way. It was amazing. And I couldn’t have managed it without that peace of mind that you set the foundation for.
This concludes this post that turned rather personal. Happy CBversary again. Stay confident in life and be proud that you have psychological powers unfettered by space (because they can travel across the globe) or time (because someday new CBers will also find strength in your words). aww thank you Zeal!! I’m so glad I was able to have that effect on you – similarly, it’s hard to express how much your words and friendship have meant to me too! It truly is amazing how the CB can enable these connections that span space and time, as you said. I’ve loved getting to know you and your creativity and enthusiasm over the years… Anyway, thank you so much for what you said – it means so much to me that I could be able to offer that sort of real-life positive help to someone. Your post made me so happy <3 I hope you too find every day to be wonderful <3

Happy (belated) CBversary, Poinsettia! Three whole years… where does the time go?! I still remember when you were brand-new, and our very first interaction! I am so flattered that you were inspired by my poetry — and by me in general?! Ohh, you’re going to make me cry!
You’ve had such an impact on me too, and I still think about you very often. You’re such a distinct presence — gentle but firm, if you know what I mean. I’m grateful that you’re in my life. And hey, I really like your poetry too! Heh <3
