New PartParticipantXI
it's LuminescenceLuna~
I’m standing in a room. With Hazel and Ray. And a boy with wings. Named Vortex. And a girl, called Wren. Apparently I’m not the only one with an unusual name here…
I’m also sure Wren thinks I’m a big coward, because of how she met me. And sure, I’m not the bravest person, but I’m not a coward. But hearing your only friend scream at you to run away and you can’t even see them… it’s unsettling, to say the least.
“H-h-hello,” I say, trying not to let my voice shake, and unfortunately failing miserably. But a boy with wings, tail, and cat ears is… scary.
“Hi!” Wren said brightly. “Now. I hear a Vortex is ravaging your world?” interrupted Vortex, raising an eyebrow. No one answered him, though Ray, Hazel, and I stared him down in a way I was definitely proud of.
“Well, I have a plan to stop it,” he hurriedly, probably to avoid the staredown he was currently experiencing.
“Oh really?” Hazel said coolly, which was impressive because a) the boy had wings and b) she still had AE on her head. “Yes,” Vortex said. “And it’s one I don’t approve of,” Wren cut in.
“Be quiet, Wren-” Wren rolled her eyes- “I shall tell you if- and only if- you give me an important piece of information,” he finished triumphantly. Hazel sighed. Ray’s eyes narrowed. I spoke up. “I don’t think it’s very nice of you to dangle a piece of information you know we need like that, especially when it’s regarding our homes and our families,” I said, frowning.
Vortex’s face fell. “We don’t have families, here,” he said quietly.
“Oh. I’m sorry. If it makes you feel any better, I don’t either,” I said, blushing.
His head snapped back up. “Then why do you want to go back?”
“I don’t. I just want the Vortex to be gone, because there are still millions of innocent people dying!” I answered immediately. Vortex sighed. He couldn’t argue with that, and he knew it.
“Fine. I’ll give you the plan for free, but please answer my question anyways,” he decided. Hazel nodded her approval. “What do you want from us?” Ray asked. “I want to know why the King hates you,” Vortex said.
“Who’s the King?” I asked.
“Why would he hate us?” asked Ray.
“Did he make the Vortex? Why did he do that?” Hazel asked.
Vortex looked too overwhelmed and disappointed by this response to answer, so Wren did it for him. “The King is the ruler of this place. He is learned in magics, especially dark ones. He destroys everything he thinks is wrong in this world, which I’m afraid is all the right things. If you anger him, your world is ripped apart. We don’t know why he would hate you, but for some reason he does hate you, or someone from your world. That’s why he’s tearing apart your dimension.”
“Dimension?” I asked, feeling slightly sick. “That was rhetoric,” I added, just in case someone was going to answer.
Vortex gaped. “So… you don’t know why this is happening. There isn’t an awful person doing genocide again, is there? Because if there is it’s probably the King.”
When we shook his head, he sighed. “We better go see the Watcher…” Vortex told Wren. She nodded. “Follow us,” she instructed.
