Just a thread for talking about art – your favorite artists, particular art pieces you like, what sorts of things you personally enjoy creating. Enjoy!
Has anyone heard of Simon Bening? He was a Renaissance manuscript illuminator, and he made the most gorgeous tiny paintings. The colors are so lovely, and the faces and scenes are so realistic but whimsical – he was super talented and original. And apparently many of his paintings feature a little dog. In the early ones the dog is a puppy, and he gradually ages in the later ones. So maybe he was Bening’s dog. Anyway, Bening’s paintings are full of that sort of unexpected whimsy and detail – he’s become one of my favorite artists.

I LOVE ART!! My favorite things to use are acrylic paints and wax colored pencils. I don’t have a favorite artist, and I like many kinds of styles of art.

My teacher last year majored in art history, so we spent so much time talking about it. I did a project on Franz Marc. I don’t know where my forgery is, but when I find it I will post it here.
