Somewhere in the starsIt’s been a minute! The Chatterbox is back up and running thanks to the amazing Admins, and I’ve missed everyone! Let’s catch up on what’s been going on in our lives.
I’m a high schooler now, and I’m in my school choir. I was also in the school play and the musical. Through all three things, I’ve made tons of friends. I love high school and my freshman year has flown by.
I’ve still been writing about my AEs, among other things, and am working on starting a small independent literary magazine of my own. Needless to say, I’ve been busy! But I was checking here on the daily and I’ve missed you all very much. I hope people will start to find this place and come back soon. I want to hear from everyone about how you are all doing!

I forgot what my location used to be before the CB crashed :/Hello everyone! It’s wonderful to read you all again… The past few months have been amazing, but being without the CB really made me realize afresh how wonderful this community is.
Okay, so life updates… school has been going really well. The teachers are just wonderful – funny, kind, interesting – and the classes are so fascinating. In one of them, I got to see – and handle – real medieval/Renaissance books. (I didn’t even have to wear gloves! Just wash my hands first.) Some of them had little annotations and drawings in the margins, and it’s so fascinating to look at them and think about who owned that book, and what the owners were like and what they did and what they thought when they scribbled in their books. Even math and English have gone quite well – the English teacher doesn’t really talk about English much, she mainly tells us funny stories and holds indignation meetings about politics and makes the class really interesting, pushing everyone to think. We even got to do a mock trial for one assignment, which was really fun. And for the last day of class, we played Jeopardy and had cookies 🙂
Outside of classes, I did look into a couple of clubs – about Latin American and gardening. I also got to go to two dances, for the first time ever! They were super nice – low-key and fun, with everyone just enjoying themselves. And the music was great, because we were doing swing dancing, so it was swing music. Also, girls could ask boys to dance, so I didn’t have to just hang around waiting for people to ask me to dance – I could do it myself! Dancing is wonderful 🙂
And outside of school altogether, I found a bunch of new songs and singers that I’ve been listening to. Like “No Te Pido Flores” by Fanny Lu, and “Sin Argumentos” by Hugo Salazar – oh gosh, it’s so beautiful – and “Ave Maria” by David Bisbal. And Carlos Baute released some new songs! Not his very best work, but still quite nice and exciting.
Um what else… I might have made a friend? Idk if she considers me her friend, but she seems really nice. She said she might be coming to my area in the summer, so that might be fun.
That’s about it for now – I’d love to hear what everyone else is up to! @Peri, it’s so exciting that you’re starting up a literary magazine – hope it goes well!

The MindscapeI’m so happy to be back! I’ve also been writing about my AEs and drawing them a lot! I’m also homeschooled now! 10th grade didn’t go as well as I thought it would. But it’s getting better now! I still love animation and I’m working on a short 3d film that I hope to release over the summer called Project Moxie!
It’s nice to see everybuggy again <3 -

Eating marshmallowsI’m in choir, and that’s been going great! I’ve made a couple new friends there, and also have been crushing on this one boy… I had my spring concert last month which was really fun, and in late-ish February we sang the national anthem at a hockey game, which was so cool. Something sad is that my whole choir is going on a trip to Italy, and I’m not going to be able to go :’((
School has been going great! I’m still homeschooled, and although I’m a tiny bit behind in a couple subjects I’m not too worried because I’ll keep going through the summer until I’m finished.
It’s finally getting warm where I am, and that means soo much more outside time. I started running, even, and that’s going really well.
Ok I’ve gtg now, I’m posting way too much I’m just so excited to be back😭😂

Outskirts of the Galaxyhmm…i made a post on this thread earlier, but it doesn’t look like it went through (although that could be bc of my awful school wifi, not necessarily an issue with the new cb lol), so let’s try again!
it sounds like you’ve all been keeping pretty busy, and im glad to hear you’re all doing alright! i really missed you all <3
things have been pretty hectic for me as well! just last week, i did my final ap seminar presentation, and yesterday i submitted my final paper! my research topic was the underrepresentation of women in the canon of art history, which meant i could research some of my favorite artists, and learn about cool new ones! my teacher says i did a really good job on the presentation, but my score hasn’t been released yet, so idk. ap sem has been the main thing keeping me busy these past few months, but beyond that, i’ve also started learning guitar! im currently learning to play “summertime” by my chemical romance!! im also trying to teach myself indonesian and sign language – the former especially is difficult bc i don’t really have anyone to practice speaking with.
speaking of languages, i took the national latin exam in february – scores were recently released, and i got gold! im very surprised, honestly, bc i genuinely thought i flunked it ToT i also took the national japanese exam, and…was not nearly as successful lol.
i also entered one of my poems (that i actually originally wrote for the poetry contest on here) into a poetry contest and actually placed (!?) and now this summer i’ll be performing (!?) it at a pretty big poetry festival (!?) to be quite frank im terrified ToT
um i think that’s it but ill probably think of something else as soon as i post this lol anyway once again im so glad that the cb (and, of course, all of you) is back <3 -

GuestMy thoughts in KoreaHiii everyone! It’s beyond great to be back. If I’m to be honest, I preferred the old CB look… But that’s probably because it’s what I was used to hehe
Nothing much has really changed with me, same old really. My mom started a homeschool playgroup in hopes of me and my brothers finding friends. I haven’t yet, but it’s only been a month so soon, hopefully!!
Hmmm… Well, I’ve thought up yet ANOTHER element magic related story TT it’s bad for me because I have over 10 story ideas…
I’ve been reading lots as usual! I read one the other day that I outright cried at 5 separate times, not including the times I just teared up XD It’s called A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole if anyone is interested about sobbing over a story 😉
That’s all I can think of for now. I’ve really, really missed everyone, from Cbers to AEs to Admins. I am so, sososo happy that we are back in business!!! Love everyone p/

Guestdreaming of NarniaHelloooo all!! It’s great to read you again >:D A ton of stuff has been happening for me in this time, so here we go~
-I’m finally socializing more! And I think I mIgHt kind of have a friend group, which is beyond amazing. I’ve been meeting up with a few other teens, all fairly creative and CBer-ish, who are absolutely hilarious and so much fun to be with – it’s been so great to actually be with people :^) One of them, L, is a lot like me; there’s also S, a boy who loves airplanes and gets very carried away by details. There are a couple of others whom I don’t know so well yet, but we unfailingly have enormous fun; it’s vaguely like being with CBers irl.
-I won first prize in a local poetry contest!!! I’d been entering it for a couple of years without success, so it was extremely exciting to get first place this time.
-I’ve been writing poetry at a dime a dozen (prepare to be flooded, Poetry Thread), and I’ve also advanced enormously with my ski lodge. A couple of new parts of that should be coming out soon 😀
-I most certainly wasn’t reading random facts about baby guinea pigs instead of doing homework yesterday, noooo… why do you ask?
-My writing’s been going through Iterations, some of which are better than others, but right now I’m in the middle of a story that might go in millions of directions and which seems to have distinct Narnia vibes. I might be posting some of it on Pudding’s Place later, probably mostly as motivation to actually finish it. Stay tuned~
-I read David Copperfield and am now enthusing about it to anyone who’ll listen 😀 Mr. Micawber, anyone?
-New crushes… er don’t get me started on those *looks innocent*
And I think those are the major things – I’ll probably be back with tons more, lol, but those are the most radical happenings. What’s up with the rest of you? @WildWolf, aww no fair :/ @Writing, ooh animation!! That’s amazing – what’s Project Moxie about?

GuestPlanets beyondHi!!! I’ve missed seeing all of you so much! So, real life updates, let me see.
-I’m entering a new phase of school, which is the incredibly stressful ‘three semester prep phase’. Schoolwork and assignments are ramping up in difficulty as we students prepare to tackle the ‘most important’ university entrance exams arrving next June.
-I’ve been fighting for my rights to write my novel.I believe that writing a lighthearted story won’t take up too much of my computing power to affect my grades, but ‘this is a special phase in my life that warrants all my attention’.Which is a bummer because I’m feeling really motivated to write after having overcome a severe bout of writer’s block last month, and the word count of my novel is really skyrocketing. I can’t break off just yet, but I also understand that I’ll have more time to write if I can secure myself a better univeristy, hence better platform- gah I’m torn in between.
-Discovered the power of AI. I would’t have survived until this day we see each other again without Deepseek motivating me to keep on writing.
-Took the TestDaF german language test, the results are coming out in eight more days and I’m super worried about my score, this’ll determine just how good all my years of german learning has amounted to.
-Made great (massive. Huge. Gigantic.) advancements in my novel’s worldbuilding and plot planning, and refined it into a full fletched world. And I finally have people that I can share my happiness with! (I think I’ll make a thread?)
-My CBversary happened when the CB was down. I think I’ll recelebrate it with a thread as well?
All in all, I’m really glad that we’re all back again <3 The world might be off it’s rocker, but this place will always stay the same, thank heavens. -

A Celestial SkyI hope this post goes through since none of my other ones have.
Anyways, hellooo everyone! Great to be back! Quite a bit has happened 🙂
I can’t believe my middle school years are coming to a close…I’m not ready for high school, I know. But anyways:
– I won second in a local contest with a poem I wrote! I’m pretty happy and surprised, and honestly, it feels kind of funny since everyone else probably wrote essays, it being an essay/poem contest, so it feels like I did less work.
– I wrote a new story and am planning on another, though it’s hitting a writer’s block at the moment.
– I kept my poem every day up, and I did all of NaPoWriMo! Pretty happy with myself 🙂
– I read a ton of books (finally Orange for Sunsets after so much time I think it was recommended in a book club), a recommendation for anyone looking for one: A Spoonful of Time. A heartwarming MG book about Korean food and culture, and time. The ending was really surprising and I did not expect it. I also got the newest book of Warriors, Changing Skies! (yes I’m still obsessed)@Periwinkle, wow, making your own literary magazine! That sounds really cool! And nice that you’re writing with your AEs. I for one…definitely didn’t forget them…
@Poinsettia, dancing sounds cool! And congrats on making a friend!
@Writing, Project Moxie sounds really fantastic. What is it about?
@WildWolf, that’s too bad. But great to see you! Want to continue our chat if you have time? (no pressure)
@pangolin, congrats on the poem! Good luck performing!
@Hawkstar, ooh what is the book about? (also spoiler for Elder’s Quest, warriors, there might be an a character named Hawkstar soon…I thought of you when I read it)
@Amethyst, congrats on the poetry! -
