DarkvineGuesta world of my ownhey y’all! Recently I’ve started playing D&D for the first time (I’m the Dungeon Master for my family’s party) and I absolutely love everything about this game! I’m already building my own adventure setting and making the campaign as detailed and fun as possible for my family 🙂
Any D&D players/DMs here? If so, I’d love to hear (read?) your stories!
(also, does anyone know why so many dice have started appearing in my house? there’s at least 20 dice currently, including two complete sets… mysterious.) -
EllesmereGuesthello, i play d&d whenever my dad remembers to dm for me, haha. i’ve got a whole treasure trove of characters with in-depth stories and none of them are developed, mostly bc he’s “too busy” to start a good campaign… eh, whatever. one of my favorite characters is a kenku named Bob. kenkus name themselves after sounds they like, she heard the name Bob and thought it sounded super cool and epic so now uh, her name is Bob. she’s great.

PoinsettiaGuestI haven’t ever played Dungeons and Dragons, but it sounds really interesting! It’s amazing how detailed the games can get. @Darkvine and Ellesmere, what are your campaigns about so far (or if you’ve done several, which one’s your favorite?)
oh and also that’s funny about the dice!

honestly, @Poinsettia, i’ve never gotten far enough through a campaign to know much about it, but there was one a while ago that i got a tiny bit into. there was a cave high up in a mountain with supposed treasure that a dwarf (my brother), also bringing along a dragon egg (me), was seeking. along the way he found a cleric (my father) who was also on his way to the caves. when they got there, the egg hatched into a silver dragon. anyways, long story short, we travelled into the cave system, encountered some rats and then some other humanoids that were also seeking the treasure, then got transported to another dimension mid-fight. not sure where exactly the story was going, i’ll have to ask my father. but it was pretty fun!

D&D is really fun! I’ve been DMing for my family recently, which has been a little tiring doing it out of a book. I honestly think that is is just as much work to write your own adventure, but more fun and easier to keep track of the story line!
My favorite character to play is named Quirona Shadowgazer. She is a wood-elf druid who has a pet squirrel named butternut and loves banana bread. She was raised in a royal family, but ran away when she was about ten. Because she lived alone in the forest with just animals for so many years, she is usually socially awkward, but she can draw on her royal training to be very persuasive if nessicary.
I also occasionally play as a hill-dwarf cleric: Boric the Bold. He can cast this spell that conjures an epic mystical warhammer.
For the adventure that I wrote, I created the bad guy Ezthus Doom. She is a teifling sorcerer and is certifiably awesome. I really need to play as her sometime.
I use an online source for my characters, a website that lets you make character sheets and also find stats for different monsters and objects. I love it because it’s portable and easy to use.

PoinsettiaGuest@admin, just popping in to say that there’s the name of a website in the post above? I thought we weren’t supposed to mention websites outside the CB; maybe the name of the website should be removed from the post.

AdminModeratorThank you, Poinsettia. You’re correct, and the website name has been removed.
