Up in the CloudsGood sustainable places to do your clothes shopping. Unique fashion styles that you wish you could pull off. The style you actually use, versus the one of your dreams. A fashion design project you are working on. What you are wearing currently, favorite fabrics, etc. etc.
We all LOVE a good, comfy sweater/shirt in the winter, and a flowy, airy, shirt in the summer. Most of us are probably guilty of buying fast fashion. We all probably have some very unique pieces of clothing that sit in the back of a closet that you absolutely LOVE but are too scared to wear. We love moths, but our clothes definitely don’t, and yes, I am talking about that one pair of beautiful pants you had that were destroyed by the very same cute and fuzzy bugs.
This is all to say, I love clothes, and sometimes I wish fast fashion didnt have people in sweatshops and didnt produce noxious amounts of waste. Thrift stores are definitely hit or miss.
Bye 😀

WildWolfGuestI was justtt thinking of making a post about fast fashion!! I personally only buy clothes from thrift stores, as I don’t find them hit or miss. But it’s probably different depending on the area.
Everyone needs to start keeping their clothes for longer, buying less clothing, and buying used clothes. We currently have enough clothing in the world to clothe the whole world for 6 generations! It’s just so wasteful.

Outskirts of the Galaxyoh fun!! i definitely agree that fast fashion is terrible. i love thrift stores, but where i live, the “thrift stores” are really “vintage fashion stores” that are just as expensive as anywhere else. i do most of my thrifting when i visit my grandma upstate!
i feel like a cartoon character sometimes because i only wear like. one outfit, with slight variations each day. it’s really hard for me to find clothes that i like style-wise AND find comfortable, so i only have like three pairs of pants and five shirts that i wear regularly :p i really wish i could wear more jewelry, because it’s so fun, but it gives me so many sensory issues >:/ at least i can tolerate earrings.
i’ve been into diy fashion lately – it’s cool to be able to wear something you know only you have, and it’s environmentally friendly! :] i’ve mainly been bleaching designs onto thrifted black shirts, which isn’t nearly as hard as i thought it’d be! just make sure you’re in a well-ventilated space though :p i can’t upload images right now, but i’ll try to share some of the designs i’ve made later (if i remember)! and, of course, my converse are eternally covered in song lyrics and doodles and poetry.

A Celestial SkyI personally wear a kind of soft girl aesthetic fashion, which I also quite like, though I want to try and incorporate more skirts/dresses into my outfits. There are many styles that I admire, like emo/goth fashion, though I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get into them.

ThalorwinGuestHonestly, I wear t-shirts and shorts every, single, day. 😆
I just wear dresses at church and when we go to fancy restaurants.
I always have my Disney World sweatshirt around my waist, though… -
ThaloriwnGuestI wear earrings… usually studs because I got my ears pierced in May…

The Underworld XDI love any type of alt fashion (I tend to dress very scene, emo (scene and emo a very different), goth, fairygrunge/goblincore, dark academia, punk, grunge) ,but it’s taken me a long time to build up a wardrobe of certain pieces that fit a certain aesthetic. (which is something important to remember when starting to dress in a new style)
I have DIY-ed/customized a few pieces of clothing and accessories. I’ve bleached/painted designs on to a few pairs of pants, made my own jewelry, added patches to jackets. I’d like to do more, but the winter slows me down when it comes to adding to my closet

SeadragonGuestI’m really lucky when it comes to thrift stores in my area, which is nice. I don’t really think I have a style? I want to start dressing a little bit more interestingly. I also do a lot of DIY stuff–I have a sewing machine, although I haven’t made any clothes except for one skirt (and I have an idea for a summer top). I’ve made a lot of accessories and jewelry.
Has anyone tried visible mending? It’s a really cool way of mending clothes and other items that are worn (or just decorating them, or reinforcing them if they’re about to get holes) with fabric scraps, which can add style to the clothes. It’s also sustainable, since you don’t throw clothes away when they are worn, and it sort of goes against consumerism by celebrating and showing off the wear in clothes (rather than just buying new clothes or hiding the holes with invisible mending). I haven’t done any on clothing yet, but I’m working on mending a bag. -
