Hi everybuggy! It’s been a bit, hasn’t it?
I’ve heard from Periwinkle that you all were wondering about me so I decided to pop back and say hi <3
For those who don’t know me, hi! I’m Writing_in_the_Dark, or Writing. I use he/they pronouns and was active the most around 2021-2023 I think? I have a horrible memory so I’m not sure on those dates. I was mostly known for my Alter Egos, which I still use every so often! I’ve missed you all so much I think about this place all the time
Hmmm let’s see… Like I said, my memory is horrible, so I don’t remember what I’ve told you all,,, oopsies.
I’m a junior in high school now! And I’m homeschooled now! So much better than public school for me– Last school year there was a whole friend group fallout that lead to some really poor mental health. But now, I’m much better! I’m still not doing amazingly, but honestly who is haha– I’m working on getting therapy, though, which I hope will help.
I’m no longer working on Project Moxie unfortunately. I learned that I really don’t like doing 3d animation, but I hope to bring it back someday in a 2d form. Right now, I’m focusing on smaller animation projects related to my comic, The Grand Purgatorium! I’d love to show you guys some panels but honestly I still don’t understand how to upload images on this new site lol
Anyway, yeah! Umm go ahead and ask questions if you’d all like, I’d love to catch up with everyone (including you, Admins!) and maybe even meet some new people! I’ve missed this place <33 -

ah hey writing and peri! I too happen to have popped back in to say hi today! good to see (read?) y’all. I miss all the CBers from 2021/22.
Do you guys miss the old site as much as I do? I know the change needed to happen — I think the more accessible site has led to a boost in CB population, since the old site had a pretty steep learning curve — but I miss the old maroon-and-blue and the parchment texture that cut off partway down the page. And the chunky topping algorithm (lwk it was kind of nice that you could bottom a thread that you regretted making). I’m just being nostalgic and old lol 😛 but the new site isn’t steeped in memories the same way
anyways ignore me waxing poetic about early 2000s web design. it’s good to read you guys. I’m glad we happened to pop back in around the same time!

@moon wolf — It’s great to see you too ahhhh let’s see new things I’ve learned,,, Abraham Lincoln grew a beard at the request of a little girl because she thought he looked ugly without one! I always think thats funny. Apparently in the girl’s home town (I forgot her name) there’s a statue dedicated to their meeting! It looks pretty cool
@bottled_haze_ — Either the admins cut off what you said or Im a little bit stupid (likely both). If you’re referring to my AEs, I have used some character archiving websites to put info about them! I wish I could share some of my favorites with you but alas. Maybe someday.
@scuttles — Yes I miss the old site so so much 😭😭😭 The quirkiness of it was so nice and it will always be so nostalgic to me :’) I also miss it because for me the new captchas always glitch out so I often get frustrated and end up not posting things oopsAnd to everyone else, hello!! It’s so nice to read you all again! I missed this place so much cries

The girl’s name was Grace Bedell. We had that story in Cricket a long time ago.
