I’m changing my name on here to JUST Lonan.
I want to use it as much as i can, given the fact that I can’t let my family know that I go by a different name, and I spend all most all my time with family…so using this name would be much appreciated -
I’ll miss InkTea as a name, but understood. Lonan from now on! and sorry about your family. i hope they come around, and you find some places where you can use Lonan and be yourself.

that’s always possible unfortunately. it may also be that they think it’s a phase and will come around when they learn that it isn’t. or perhaps they just don’t understand why it’s important to you. These things don’t always make sense to people. I think it’s hard to understand if you haven’t experienced it. it’s always possible…
even if they don’t, though, you can always find places to be yourself. even if they’re only in your head. i think you’re a very cool person (or dog? if i’m correct?) and i hope you continue to be yourself, when it’s safe.

Yeah, I’ll keep hoping as I move forwards in life. But, if I decide so in the future, I may legally change my name (which means there is nothing they could do to stop me….maybe? Idk)

no, at some point they shouldn’t be able to stop you, in most cases. my advice is to start saving now; transition stuff can be quite expensive. name change less so. plus if that involves buying less stuff and fixing stuff when it breaks more often, that’s drastically better for the environment.
I’ll remember pup/pups then! or try to correct me if i forget and thank you a ton.
btw, trans-related stuff is usually easier for people to grasp than species stuff from what i can tell. i used to insist i was various species still am, really. i don’t really have any ways to express any of it… do you have any ideas actually? or what do you do? ideally more diy, bc of the “seen as general identity confusion” issue mentioned later. just any ideas ig… there is also more actual hate towards trans people, though, be warned.
unfortunately, if you’re trying to get acceptance for trans stuff, it may be easier to go one at a time and start with transness. the issue being that it might end up with you being seen as general identity confusion or “trying to be cool”. but being out or not doesn’t dictate your actions, especially not things you do for yourself. but sometimes (too often) you do have to be strategic.
and idk if you feel safe coming out or explaining anything in your current situation. but i do think often people just don’t understand why it’s even important to you. it’s important to keep that in mind. but also sometimes you have to realize there’s no point.
