Hello, everyone! I am Moon Wolf, the spectacular host of this November MCU! I appreciate the time you have taken out of your day to sit through this event— -or stand, or read, or…- Anyways, let’s have my AEs, the helpers *and co-hosts!* for this event introduce themselves.

%We have agreed collectively to introduce ourselves in the reverse order that we usually do, so I’ll start. I am Taurus, they/them, happy to be here.%

+Greetings! I am Rigel, she/her, full of beautifully poetic words to say throughout this MCU.+

;Sup, I’m Orion, he/him, bringing the excitement yet again to what might otherwise be a dull MCU.;

*I disagree!! I would definitely still be able to keep it interesting without you! AND much more organized!! All you do is cause chaos!*

*No, there’s a diff—nevermind, whatever. I’m Astra, she/her, here to bring the actual excitement, not the unorganized chaos.*

=Callisto, he/him. I’ll just be here in the back, trying to keep this event under control.=

(Hi, I’m Crescent, she/her. I’ll be playing some soft classical music in the back for all of you to listen to amidst the chaos of the other AEs.(

_Great to be here! I’m Aries, he/him. It’s awesome that you, the viewer, looking at this screen, have taken the time to read this!_

-He’s trying to break the fourth wall, I think. It’s a rather thin wall here, though, compared to other stories I’ve read. Besides that, I’m Lyra, she/her. This is a pretty exciting MCU for me, since we are hosting this in a library.-

*Library? Since when??*

=Oh no, is it the themed MCU again…?=

Yep, that’s right, this MCU is hosted in the setting of a library! Since you cannot see it yourself, you will just have to imagine—a beautiful library with every single book you’ve ever wanted to read, and more! For all of you Kyngdomers out there, we are hosting this MCU at Crossquill Library. For everyone else, we are hosting this MCU in the fantasy library of your dreams. So without further ado, let us begin, with a moment of silence for Ella Starburst, the founder of these lovely MCUs. [silence fills the library, like it should be] Thank you, Ella!

Some of you may remember the last time that I hid a secret message in the last MCU I hosted. Well, I’m bringing it back, under the title of Word Hunt Activity! In case you missed it last time, basically, I will hide a secret message throughout this MCU letter by letter in the format of this [“this” doesn’t count], and if you find all the letters and piece it together into a message and comment it below, you will receive a fabulous prize!

Don’t worry, it’s not a joke this time. Instead, anyone who comments the message will receive a cool word that I think best describes you or matches your vibe, along with its definition! And don’t worry, I’m still giving you a virtual high-five as well.

Lovely. Now, let us sit down and quietly listen to the book of the month given to us by the amazing Amethyst!

Book of the Month:
The Witch of Blackbird Pond, by Elizabeth George Speare
Kit has grown up in the Caribbean with her grandfather, and she’s independent and free-spirited – something that shocks the Puritan community she joins when she’s forced to take up a new life on the shores of New England. It doesn’t feel like home to her; the only people she understands are Hannah Tupper, the witch who lives in the sunny and homelike meadows outside town, and Nat Eaton, the captain’s son who brought Kit to Connecticut. On the surface, the three seem to have nothing in common, but an unexpected friendship blossoms between them as Kit tries to adapt to her new life – until she finds herself accused as a witch too, the friends become entangled in trouble as the entire community turns against them, and everything seems to be trying to tear them apart… This beautiful, well-woven historical drama will pull you into the middle of its world and completely fulfills its promise.

Speaking of which, we can perfectly transition into MCU questions, where Last Month We Asked You, “What’s your favorite color this autumn, and which do you think embodies autumn best?”

Thalorwin says: “I think gold embodies fall the best because of the yellow leaves, brown cornucopias, and just the brown dirt on the ground. Those all mixed, is gold!” _Gold, a wonderful fall color, and the color of beach sand…_

Pangolin says: “definitely orange – the burnt orange of changing leaves, the muted orange-brown of hot apple cider, the bright orange of a jack-o-lantern and the candle flickering inside it.” +very poetic orange…+

Seadragon says: “Red–the glowing red-orange of tree leaves just before they turn brown, and the maroon-red of grapevine leaves before they do the same.”

Moon Wolf (your lovely host) says: “My favorite color this autumn is a golden yellow, the color of the sun and autumn leaves with lingering traces of summer.”

WildWolf says: “I think the colour that embodies autumn best is a mix between orange and red. It’s the colour of autumn leaves, pumpkin muffins, and early sunsets.” *Mmm pumpkin muffins…*

;Let me see!! [runs over and grabs a random book] It’s a book about a dragon! And on the cover, it has a warning that says beware, enchanted, do not open it… Well, now that just makes me curious! I must open it now! [proceeds to open book];

=Maybe we should tame it to make sure it doesn’t accidentally burn down the whole library.=

+How would we tame it, though?+

I know! Let’s ask for advice from our fellow CBers, through the Advice Column, on the best way to make friends with a dragon!

_Please hurry with that, or the dragon may destroy more of the library!!_

Thalorwin says: “the best way to be friends with a dragon, is to first find a dragon. Then, that’s just being a kind person and then the dragon might end up liking you.”

*Well, we found the dragon…Now, who among us is the kindest person?*

-I’m very kind!-

=I’ll be honest, I personally disagree with that. Maybe Aries, he’s pretty chill.=

_I could try. [goes over to dragon] Come on, stop trying to set the library on fire! Hm, I don’t think it’s working._

;What about Crescent? She’s probably kind enough to tame a dragon.;

(No thanks…I would rather not be set on fire.(

Well then, let’s see what Seadragon says: “Treat the dragon respectfully and let it take its time to get to know you.”

%Alright. [bows toward dragon] Dragon, you are a very noble creature, and I respect you. [dragon roars] I don’t think it’s working.%

*Maybe we’re supposed to let it get to know us like we would a dog? [holds out hand, in which the dragon promptly ignores it and blasts a nearby bookshelf] Yeah, I don’t think we can let it take its time, or the library might burn down.*

Well, I have an idea. What if we give the dragon food? They always say that the way through a dragon’s heart is through its stomach, or something like that.

-I think you got the quote wrong.-

+Nevertheless, it’s still worth a try. Isn’t there a cafe here or something? I’ll go grab something. Be back in a moment.+

[the rest of us sit and watch the dragon fly around, sending fireballs everywhere]

+Alright, I’m back, dragon, and I have a whole pumpkin pie! Do you want it?+

[The dragon roars and flies over to Rigel, who is holding out a pumpkin pie. It lands and snatches the pumpkin pie from Rigel, eating it in one bite. It roars again, still hungry.]

=I don’t think we have enough pumpkin pies to satisfy a dragon.=

How about we follow WildWolf’s advice? “To befriend a dragon you must show the fiery beasts that you are like them. Act fierce, (don’t make threats to the dragon though, trust me) blow fire, and eat raw meat. Hopefully you are capable of the last two, but if you’re not you could go the simple route: simply dump 3000 cows into their cave.”

%So, who wants to do that?%

;I can act fierce! Dragon, I am not afraid of you, and I am fierce! But also non-threatening! [pulls out a blowtorch from nowhere] Look, I blow fire!;

(Where did you get that from?(

;Hm, not sure if I want to eat raw meat though…;

_Does sushi count?_

;Right! [goes to cafe, and comes back with a plate of salmon nigiri] Look, dragon, I also eat raw meat! [proceeds to eat one];

[The dragon is unamused.]

-Um, I don’t think it’s working.-

*Then are we supposed to dump 3000 cows into its cave??*

=Do we even know where its cave is, let alone can find 3000 cows?=

+Well, this is a fantasy library…+

Maybe we could try to follow Amethyst’s advice! “The best way to make friends with a dragon is to not get eaten by it; one can then proceed to whatever course seems wisest, depending on the temperament and upbringing of the dragon, and whether you really want to befriend it at all.”

(Okay, well, we aren’t being eaten by it now.(

_The wisest course…well, the dragon seems…fierce, and it has probably been brought up in a cave in some fantasy land._

-Well, do we even want to befriend the dragon?-

*I certainly do!!! Wouldn’t it be great to have a pet dragon?*

%I’m not so sure about trying to have a pet dragon, especially this one, but being friends with a dragon would certainly be cool!%

(There must be a reason why it’s so fierce. Maybe if we figure that out, we can befriend it.(

=Maybe it’s…claustrophobic?=

*That’s brilliant!! Of course a dragon would be claustrophobic, stuck in a library, when it should be out there, flying in the sky!*

%Okay, how about we entice it with food, and lead it outside and set it free!%

+I have another pumpkin pie. Here, dragon, dragon! Want some pie? Then follow me!+

[The dragon, enticed by the aroma of pumpkin pie, follows Rigel as she walks outside of the library. Rigel sets the pie down once they are outside. The rest of the AEs follow.]

%[watches the dragon eat the pie in one gulp] We should name the dragon, so we remember it if we ever see it next time.%

-How about we call it Draco? The dragon constellation…-

_Certainly a nice name, since it goes with the rest of our star-themed names._

[The dragon looks back one last time before flying off, free into the sky.]

*What a beautiful scene this is, a dragon flying off into the sky over a forest.*

Speaking of beautiful scenery, let’s take a look at the fall-themed locations that everyone is at this month!

Honorable Mentions~
Moon Wolf (the lovely host) with “sunset colored leaves drifting on a breeze”!
Why: Because I am the judge, so unfortunately, I will have to put this last to judge without bias. It’s still a beautiful location to me, though.

Pangolin with “lost in a corn maze”!
Why: A very wonderful fall-themed location, with the wandering and fun vibe of being lost in a corn maze.

Third Place ~ WildWolf, with “waking up to the world cloaked in a soft, quiet layer of white”!
Why: Such a pristine and majestic atmosphere, to wake up to snow, especially with the coming of winter!

Second Place ~ Thalorwin, with “Picking pumpkins under a full moon.”!
Why: The perfect activity to do in the fall, especially under a glowing full moon! Very autumnal.

First Place ~ Amethyst, with “floating among sun-fired leaves”!
Why: It perfectly captures the exquisite feeling of autumn, dancing among the leaves lit with the sun’s glow. Congrats!

(Anyways, the whole library is a mess now. There’s a pile of ashes where some books used to be, and there are bookshelves fallen on the ground.(

=Look, there’s a whole pile of books here that fell from a bookshelf. [picks up one of them] Hey, it’s a joke book.=

That reminds me, we have a Joke Column! Let’s see the jokes that everyone sent in.

Pangolin says: “in honor of novel writing month – why don’t escaped convicts make good writers? they never finish their sentences.”

Moon Wolf (your lovely host) says: “I’m going to take inspiration from pangolin and do a writing joke as well. Why don’t authors have more free time? They’re booked and busy.”

Anyways, that concludes this month’s MCU! Now, we must clean this library up before the librarian comes back and gets mad at us.
