I’ve been doing lots of music and writing and design and photography— just lots of art in general. I even entered some of my work to some small literary magazines! :0
I’m too tired to write more rn but I can’t wait to catch up with youuuu <33

oh my goodness, that’s awesome! i’m so happy for you, that sounds wonderful.
if i’m being honest, i don’t have many friends (i only have two girl friends and one guy friend 💀), but the ones i do have are amazing. they’re very sweet and they care a lot (i’ve only been close with them for this school year, but i really love them). i used to have a lot more friends but all of them turned out to be very toxic (a bunch of them were bullies lol), so i’m very glad i left that environment.
i’ve also been doing a lot of music! i just got into photography, and i really like it so far. oh my gosh, that’s so cool. i’ve always considered sending my stuff in to a literary magazine, but i always end up chickening out–so kudos to you for being brave enough!
ahaha, i get that, i’ve been partaking in robotics competitions this entire week, so i’m super tired as well. i’m also supposed to be studying right now for an exam that’s on tuesday…so i should go do that xD

I’m glad to hear you got away from your old friend group, but I hope more friends come along soon — you’re such an amazing person and you deserve to be receiving the love you’re giving. I know online friends are a little different, but I definitely think of us as great friends <3
Isn’t music just so much fun? I’ve had lots of opportunities for music this year — I even got to be in a regional choir, which meant I got to sing with other kids from all over the state! And my choir went on a school trip for a few days, which was awesome. I definitely feel like music has led me to making the most new friends. Music kids are also often a very accepting and diverse group. What sorts of music have you been doing?
And yessss, photography! I love taking photos of nature, and I feel I’ve gotten pretty good at editing my photos, too. I’ve also been learning more about design in my graphic design class at school, which has just been AMAZING. I’ve learned about designing logos, posters, even food menus.
I’m trying to use my design skills to plan my magazine. I’m only in the early planning stages now — in other words, it’s hardly more than a daydream — but I think this summer I want to make it a reality. I’ve already picked out a name and started developing a style, and I’ve got some friends who want to help.
Robotics! I don’t do robotics, but my friends do, and they just had a lot of competitions as well! It seems really hard but fun. I hope your exam went well.
I know I’ve already said this, but I missed you so much and was thinking about you a lot these past months you’ve been gone. I’m so, so glad you’re back here — I was worried I’d never see you again after the CB went down. It’s just so great to hear — er, read — your voice again <3

yess music is so fun! i have a performance coming up soon and i’m very excited because the outfits that we’re going to use look so cool dude, i’m wearing docs and army green cargo pants with my hair all spiky because it’s like 80s (i’m going for like 80s grunge/emo type of vibes), and a long-sleeve shirt with green sleeves with black stripes on them and a black torso with a green star that has black stripes on it as well. i’m probably going to just buy a pack of black jewelry and rings online and a;asdfijadsf i’m so excited! do you have any performances coming up soon? what is performing in choir like? do you guys have choir competitions or something (i’m not really familiar with how choir works, sorry haha)?
oh my gosh regional choir?? that’s amazing! that sounds so fun, and it’s super impressive too. i hope you’re proud of yourself! /pos also yes, seriously, music kids are so accepting. that’s where i met one of my trans friends (not friends as much anymore but we chat once in a while now since he went to college) and i’m performing with a therian or a furry in my vocal perfomance! we’re all weird kids hahaha xD. right now i’m doing an 80s song melodic pop song since it’s an 80s showcase–i’m not the biggest fan of the song since i’m more into emo/post hardcore stuff, but i still like it! what music are you into/doing besides choir?
oh wow! i haven’t learned to edit photos yet, what software do you use? also oh my gosh that graphic design class sounds amazing, do you think you’d post anything from that on the art posting 2 thread? i’d love to see some of it!

thank you!! it was our first year so we didn’t place, but with my marketing stuff we got 45/50 points, which i’m really happy with! i’d like to improve on it next year, though.
also yes same!! i didn’t think i would be coming back but i’m so glad i did. i missed you so much and i really missed chatting with you! i’m so so so glad to be back. :DDD it’s great to read you again as well!

Your outfit sounds so cool :0
Yeah, we have choir competitions sometimes! It’s a school choir so I go to class every day and learn singing, sight reading, etc. It’s really fun, but hard sometimes. I sing in concert choir class, which unfortunately means I’m surrounded by people who are inexperienced and sometimes don’t even want to be there. I had to be in that class because I’m a freshman, but luckily next year I get to move up to honors choir with more talented, enthusiastic musicians. Outside of concert choir I also sing in chamber choir, a smaller, more advanced choir you have to be invited to. Those kids are super talented and I have learned a lot from them! In general singing in choir is awesome regardless of the skill level of the group you sing with, and it’s an experience I believe everyone should have at least once. We sing all sorts of beautiful pieces of music; I can recommend you some of my favorite choral pieces if you like, and I’m happy to tell you more about being in choir. It’s one of my biggest passions! Besides choir I listen to a lot of music and dabble in keyboard. I also do musical theater! In March we put on a musical, and that was so much fun. If you’re still homeschooling, you should definitely try community theater. I think you would love it.
I mostly just edit photos on my cell phone because that’s easy, but I’ve also learned how to edit them in photoshop. I can post a few of my designs on the art thread, sure! Most of them I would not be allowed to share because they include photos and art that I don’t own. All photos and art I use I have to be very aware of the usage rights, and the Admin would likely not approve a design including work from someone else. But there’s a few designs I can post, and I will soon!
My proudest project from graphic design is the zine* I made this year, but I’ve also made some awesome feminist stuff. I designed a feminist t-shirt and a poster with the lyrics to “Rebel Girl” by Bikini Kill, riot grrrl anthem.
I’ll keep you updated about my magazine! Right now I plan for it to have a very fluid, ever-changing style, never being in one place for long. And I haven’t started my exams yet rip. My school goes until mid-June (yikes) but we do have state testing this week so that will be great /sar

oh my gosh i just made a zine for the art club i’m part of! i didn’t get to finish it since we ran out of time but it was a lot of fun and i’d like to make another sometime soon. i’m not sure i fully understand the concept, but i’m sure i will with practice.
also that tshirt and and the riot grrrl poster sound super cool! i haven’t gotten into riot grrrl music yet but it’s definitely something i’d like to check out.
if you want to post pics of your zine or of the tshirt and poster you made, i’d love to see them! 😀

I have a book recommendation for you! It is called “Queer and Wonderfully Made” and it is about being religious and queer. It’s specifically about being Christian and queer; if I recall correctly you are Christian but I may be wrong!
My favorite riot grrl song is “Violet” by Hole! And I would post my zine but it has some personal info in it so alas I cannot :[ but I am actually working on a new zine with my school’s LGBTQ+ club — an art zine for queer teens in our area! It is all my idea and I am in charge of the project, which is very exciting!
I am doing alright! I am a sophomore in high school now, and I like school. My cross country team did great this year! I have been doing lots of work in LGBTQ+ club, which has also been going well. How are you?

awesome! i’m glad your school year is going well! congrats on your cross country team doing well, running competitively (especially cross country) seems super hard.
i’m doing well! school’s been going pretty well for me. it’s tough but not too tough, although for a while i fell into a slump and wasn’t really applying myself. thankfully, it’s going much better now and i’m having a lot more fun.
off topic, but since thanksgiving’s coming up: what are your favorite thanksgiving foods?

Hi again! I know you haven’t responded (this isn’t a jab, haha, I know you’re probably super busy!) but I just wanted to chat for a second (sorry to spam!).
I’m kind of using this as a procrastination method (I’m mid-workout and trying to avoid doing lateral raises because they’re quite horrible, to be honest (probably my least favorite arm exercise). Working out is fun, but I just got dressed to go play board games with some friends, and I don’t want to be all sweaty…oh well, I haven’t worked out today and I’m trying to start a “fitness journey” (that sounds incredibly cringe).
At least it’s arm day…Leg day is the worst. That’s tomorrow (I’m so done for).
Do you play any sports? :] How’s your week been? Thank goodness it’s Saturday, this week has been super crazy for me.
