Hey, everyone!
I’m pretty new to this website, and I wanted to make my first post!
I like to write my own songs, as well as learn instruments like the flute and the piano 🙂
I take a lot of inspiration from bands like Incubus, Weezer, Nirvana, etc., and I wanted to know if anyone else likes those bands as well?
Also, if there are any other songwriters here feel free to chat about that too! I would love to know if anyone has fully put together an original song!

Hi, Mercy! Welcome! I also like to write songs. I play violin and I’m kind of picking up piano as well, and I like to sing but my voice isn’t amazingly tuneful.
I’ve never written an original song and set it to music and arranged it and everything; I’m kind of halfway through one, but it will probably take a very long time (I’ve been working on it for about six months, and if it’s halfway done it’ll take a year). I’d love to finally be able to perform it (just for family, if at all) and film it for myself!
Do you ever struggle with continuing to work on an old song that you wrote while feeling really strong emotions that you don’t feel as much anymore? I’m kind of having that problem with the six-month song.
