PoinsettiaGuest?
City of Eternal RomanceFavorite book/s: The Patron Saint of Second Chances was wonderful! I also really enjoyed the memoirs of a modern Jordanian queen (I’m not putting in the title because I think the book might not be totally appropriate for the youngest CBers).
Books you didn’t enjoy: I tried a book by Pope Francis – a combination of memories about his own life and memories about important world events – but somehow I didn’t like it very much. I also didn’t enjoy Mama’s Last Hug by Franz Waals very much, although my mom read it and I was fascinated when she told me about what it said.
Favorite song/s: “That’s How You Know When You’re in Love,” by Lari White, “Spring” by Ed Sheeran, and “Ultimate” by the Beaches and “Baby” by Lindsay Lohan (from the sequel to Freaky Friday!) And, of course, almost everything by Carlos Baute, especially “No Quiero Que Vuelvas” and the remix of “Vamo’ a la calle”.
Songs you didn’t really like: “Glory Days” by Gabby Barrett, and unfortunately Carlos Baute’s most recent releases weren’t my favorites:/
New music artists discovered: 3+2; Erfan Tahmasbi; Fanny Lu; David Bisbal; David Fonseca. Oh, and Belle Perez, a Spanish pop singer; Ed Sheeran; Forest Blakk; Greeicy and Nikki Mackliff, who are very similar so I’m grouping them together; Vance Joy (“Boardwalk”!!); and Aitana (“6 de Febrero” is a marvel of sound).
Favorite music artist: Carlos Baute
Best memory: Sitting on the school campus under a blue sky, eating my snack, with lots of people walking by, and the trees changing colors, and feeling happy about the fun times I was having with my classmates.
A mistake you learned from: ooooooh that’s a question. I went to a book sale and on the spur of the moment I paid a large amount of money for a book, and then felt quite upset and resolved not to be so extravagant. Unrelated to that, this year I also ended up deciding to move on from focusing quite so much on romance/crushes, and decided to spend more time focusing on my own interests and ambitions and things I’m curious about or that come my way – the things that really matter to the person I actually am.
Best craft/s: Decorating tote bags
A place you loved going to: School:) We had lovely weather all fall, and it just looked so pretty with the trees changing colors, and it felt happy and energetic, and it was so nice to be among people I genuinely liked.
A fear you overcame: I was really nervous about the oral presentations I had to do in French class, but I went through with it and it turned out to be fine!
Something you want to learn next year: More French:) I’d like to get more fluent and be able to actually converse in it.
A skill you picked up: how to do line dancing! *does the Canadian stomp*
Favorite food: the jambalaya my mom made a few weeks ago. It was so so good. It put me into a warm happy state. I’m hungry even now just thinking about it. It’s not like I’m such a fan of jambalaya in itself, but that one batch had something special.
Bleh food: Spinach:/
Favorite movie/s or show/s: The Elephant and the Butterfly and All Creatures Great and Small
A movie you saw for the first time this year and enjoyed: Freakier Friday! It’s the sequel to the 2003 film Freaky Friday. It’s really funny and enjoyable. And it has great music!
A movie/show you didn’t like: West Side Story. It was basically a bunch of people behaving unrealistically in an unaesthetic setting, and they always seemed to do things in the middle of the night. I like movies to be Visually Pleasing, thank you, with clear light and nice colors and happy realism.
Best season this year: Fall.
Accomplishments for the year: I felt a lot more comfortable socializing and being myself with people. I felt like I was less shy, and it was easier to think of things to say – I was more confident in general. I also got more fluent in French, and tried to spread awareness of important issues, and wrote a story that I’m very proud of.
Things you want to accomplish next year: I’d like to maybe do an internship? I’m curious about what the professional world is like, and I think an internship would help me see whether I’d really enjoy working in a museum. I’d also like to keep spreading awareness, and also just make people’s lives happier, if I can.
Anything I didn’t add that you’d like to mention: no, but this was really fun, thank you for making it!

Moon WolfGuestlunars
New Year's Eve in RomeFavorite book/s: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, which I picked up the book version recently, along with a ton of others that I cannot recall at the moment
Books you didn’t enjoy: The Hundred Secret Senses by Amy tan, it wasn’t bad but just kind of hard to get through and the plot was rather jumbled
Favorite song/s: ahh so many! Some of my new ones this year, WITCH by Devon Cole, all the Hamilton songs, Control by Halsey, the KPDH songs, Devil in Disguise by Marino, Army Dreamers by Katy Bush…
Songs you didn’t really like: I’m not sure tbh…
New music artists discovered: Halsey, other artists i listed above, Chappell Roan
Favorite music artist: bit generic but might just say Taylor Swift
Best memory: there’s been a lot of fond ones, though I quite enjoyed hanging out with my friends especially towards the end of the school year
A mistake you learned from: I’ve learned to be more considerate of my actions and words since sometimes I can unintentionally hurt someone’s feelings when I speak carelessly
Best craft/s: gel bookmarks!
A place you loved going to: there’s been so many cool places I’ve been like baja and Taiwan and south Korea and Italy but in terms of close to home, my local bookstore!
A fear you overcame: I’ve been able to talk to new people in school more, and socialize more (though I still have some ways to go!)
Something you want to learn next year: I’d like to learn how to cook more
A skill you picked up: Art, which I had already done before, but I began to see more improvements recently
Favorite food: sushi
Bleh food: raddichio
Favorite movie/s or show/s: The Hunger Games, maybe? I’m not sure…or Hamilton
A movie you saw for the first time this year and enjoyed: might say Hunger Games again…
A movie/show you didn’t like: Wish. The plot felt generic, and the character was bland and didn’t match her setting or purpose, and the villain wasn’t really villainous, so unfortunately, I think there’s a reason why it’s unpopular
Best season this year: spring! The mustard flowers bloomed and it was so pretty!
Accomplishments for the year: I learned more Mandarin, I did NaPoWriMo and NaNoWriMo, I wrote a poem book transcript, I made new friends
Things you want to accomplish next year: I want to make more friends, maybe finish my nanowrimo novel, write another story, participate in a writing contest, publish my poem book
Anything I didn’t add that you’d like to mention: I learned some very very basic Italian! Also thanks for making this!-
HawkstarGuestGASP you went to south Korea?! Howwasitwhatdidyoudowheredidyougo

SeadragonGuestFavorite book/s: There are a lot. (Also, I can never remember when I read what.) I really liked A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. I don’t read many older books, but I thought it was really good!
Books you didn’t enjoy: The first three in the Breadwinner Series, which I read for school. The writing wasn’t very good, in my opinion (it was okay), and the plot a bit depressing.
Favorite song/s: I think the one I listened to and sang the most was “Satisfied” from Hamilton. Other than that, my usual favorites–largely, anything from the albums folklore and evermore by Taylor Swift.
Songs you didn’t really like: A lot of Taylor Swift’s newest album–I feel like it’s shallow.
New music artists discovered: I haven’t been listening to a lot of music…I think I discovered Kate Wolf in 2025? She isn’t alive anymore, but she made a lot of nice, calming folk songs, which I enjoy. Also Renee Elise Goldsberry.
Favorite music artist: Hard to say, but I think it’s still Taylor Swift.
Best memory: Again, hard to say, but I think either hanging out at swim meets with my swimming friends–I realized lately that I’ve been growing up with them for a long time, longer than I’ve had my current batch of school friends, and can connect with them really well–or being with my school friends. They’re not my closest friends ever, but they’re nice, and sometimes I do feel like I belong with them.
A mistake you learned from: I’m trying to be kinder, but also true to myself.
Best craft/s: I think it’s this bag I’ve been mending. It had been looking really boring, and I was getting bored of it, and it was also about to get holes, but now it’s structurally fine and looks much better!
A place you loved going to: There’s a really nice place in our town whose mission is to make art accessible to everyone that runs summer camps and classes. I did a couple of camps there over the summer, and also some classes/open studios later in the year. Everyone there is really nice, and the instructors are all really great. It also helped me not hate art–I’ve been doing a lot of copying pictures in school, and those don’t usually turn out very well, but I got to go to this place and be told that I should make sure I stick with art, while also making sure I knew that art was more than copying pictures. That was where I did most of the work on the aforementioned bag.
A fear you overcame: Fear of difficult swimming events.
Something you want to learn next year: I’d like to have more formal education in writing. I haven’t had many English classes in the past year (I have a teacher who controls almost all my schedule and hates teaching English), so I’m looking forward to Honors English in high school and possibly also creative writing club.
A skill you picked up: I’ve approached singing in a new way this year, and I think it’s now a skill instead of just something I like to do tunelessly in the shower. I’ve enjoyed doing it in the past, and have written lots and lots of songs I’ve never arranged, but I’ve started paying more attention to how I sound, and what songs work best for my voice.
Favorite food: I think this year it was ice cream.
Bleh food: Mashed potatoes. I’ve eaten worse, but I feel like they perfectly match the word “bleh”–their color and their texture and how there are usually lots and lots of them that come back in leftovers.
Favorite movie/s or show/s: The Enola Holmes movies, and the film of Hamilton.
A movie you saw for the first time this year and enjoyed: I don’t really see a lot of movies, and I can’t think of one I saw this year and liked. I think I first saw Hamilton as a movie this year, but I saw it live last year, so it doesn’t really seem like that was the first time.
A movie/show you didn’t like: A Christmas Story. It didn’t have much of a plot.
Best season this year: Spring, I think. It was a bit stressful but also really fun.
Accomplishments for the year: My first play of any sort and finally taking a bit more time for myself than I have in the past.
Things you want to accomplish next year: Starting high school! Which will mean being more independent and having to make new friends, as well as getting to pick my classes…I’m looking forward to it, but at the same time I’m wondering if it will actually be as amazing as I hope it will be. Also, I’d like to try to send my writing and other creative endeavors out into the world somehow, whether by reading them to people more or self-publishing (by which I mean hiding stories in public places for people to find–it’s likely nobody will find them, but if they do, they might like them). -
AmethystGuesthappy New Year!!Favorite book/s: Every Soul A Star, by Wendy Mass, Happy Half-Hours, by A.A. Milne, and The Crescent Moon Tearoom by Stacy Sivinski, which is what I’m reading currently and enjoying enormously; it’s such a cozy, happy fantasy.
Books you didn’t enjoy: The Wish Switch by Lynn Painter was a bit too silly, though it was fun for a light read; Written In the Stars by Lee Heart wasn’t half as good as the cover seemed to indicate; and I’m sure to be forgetting some
Favorite song/s: “I Saw Love” by Forest Blakk, “Boardwalk” by Vance Joy, “Spring” by Ed Sheeran, “Enamorada de Ti” by Nikki Mackliff, “Mas De Lo Que Aposte” and “6 De Febrero” by Aitana, “Happy Now” by Kygo, “From Osaka Up To Tokyo” by Mick Konstantin, “Destino” by Greeicy, “Te Estas Enamorando de Mi” by Luciano Pereyra, “Poderio” by Romero San Juan, “Adivina Adivinanza” by Hugo Salazar, and all of Carlos Baute’s music
Songs you didn’t really like: Errr… heck. Did I dislike any songs? “Opalite” by Taylor Swift wasn’t my favorite, but it’s not terrible either… “Perfect Symmetry” by Keane wasn’t very good when I listened to the whole thing, which was disappointing because I’d listened to a tiny snippet of it before and it seemed absolutely gorgeous.
New music artists discovered: Do you rEaLlY want me to launch into all of them?? Here I go: Nikki Mackliff, Dani Ubeda, David Bisbal, Fanny Lu, Ed Sheeran, Belle Perez, Hugo Salazar, Los Morochos, Sebastian Yatra, Bruno Mars, Kygo, Vance Joy, Forest Blakk, Mick Konstantin, Luciano Pereyra, Cascada (briefly), Greeicy, and probably a couple more
Favorite music artist: Carlos Baute:)
Best memory: Maybe an afternoon in late June when I was eating supper outside in the garden and then just walking around, and the sunset was gloriously pretty and “Carry You Home” by Alex Warren was going around and around in my head and there were a couple of bunnies and I was just so happy. The sort of feeling one gets when the whole day has been wonderful and there’s peace everywhere and you know that things are just right and you can imagine fifty million nice scenarios but you’re simultaneously so happy to be in these moments <3
A mistake you learned from: I accidentally made someone feel left out. I have therefore resolved to be very careful to make sure that I’m including everyone :/
Best craft/s: Calligraphy and making a bird calendar for my dad
A place you loved going to: All the places in my books:)Irl, though, I loved going to a large park for a day trip in the summer – it was utterly beautiful.
A fear you overcame: My dislike of insects? Partially? If you call summoning the courage to trap a couple of tiny jumping spiders and taking them outside actually overcoming…? Also my nervousness around people; I’m still not perfect at social interactions, but I think I’m a bit more confident in them.
Something you want to learn next year: Well, this year actually… More about graphic design, perhaps.
A skill you picked up: How to make illuminated bookmarks with these beautiful shiny pens which made your work look beautiful no matter what you do :))
Favorite food: Hmm… Chicken with breadcrumbs, paired with lentils and grated carrots, ranks high among them.
Bleh food: EgGpLaNt – it’s absolutely awful >:0
Favorite movie/s or show/s: One Man and His Cow
A movie you saw for the first time this year and enjoyed: I’m with Poinsettia on this one – Freakier Friday was wonderful :DD
Best season this year: Spring <3
Accomplishments for the year: Making irl friends! Also writing some things, actually sharing my writing for the first time in ages, and exploring new things.
Things you want to accomplish next year: Hopefully meeting new people, being a wee bit more active on the CB, reading and writing and finding more music, and making the world a better place.
Anything I didn’t add that you’d like to mention: Thank you so much for this!! It was fun:D -

1234567890Favorite book/s: the Penderwicks series by Jeanne Birdsall. I will never love another book more . The characters are literally my best friends.
Books you didn’t enjoy: Uhhh…I can never finish books I don’t enjoy, so I’ll just say Story Thieves. Both books took at least 3 tries to start.
Favorite songs: anything from Les Mis, and thanks to my ukulele book, old classics and Beatles songs.
Songs you didn’t really like: You know, the classic answers. Stuff from the most popular artists. Don’t get me started on Taylor Swifts new album
New music artists discovered: I don’t have a lot of time to listen to music, but my choir teacher showed us all this artist named Jessie J who I like. Oh, and my cousin’s classmate, lil boogie face
Favorite music artist: this is hard. Maybe… help me. I like musicals too much for this. My favorite artist is the alien head doodled on my thigh.
Best memory:Going to Silver Cove Pond at camp. It had a rope swing and gullible fish to catch and we got to camp out.
A mistake you learned from: Not trying. You can’t just wait around and let people come to you. You have to move to a table with people.
Best craft/s: I made some bookmarks to sell for fake money. I probably did something cooler, but I can’t think of it.
A place you loved going to:Sutton’s Bay, Michigan. The water was cold and clear and we went to all these cool restaurants. I also stepped on a firework barefoot, a once in a lifetime experience!
A fear you overcame:Seeming like a try-hard
Something you want to learn next year: Some stuff about MLK. I want to make a Scratch project about him.
A skill you picked up:I learned some double bass stuff.
Favorite food: stir fry with marinated baked tofu. Fantastic.
Bleh food: Twizzlers. I don’t see the point.
Favorite Movie/s or Show/s:Spirited, Gilmore Girls
A movie you saw for the first time this year and enjoyed:Spirited. It’s a retelling of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
A movie/show that you didn’t like:I can’t think of one right now.
Best season this year:Fall. Everything just got a lot better. I stopped worrying about stuff, and the weather was really nice.
Accomplishments for the year:getting more serious about writing. It’s nothing compared to what those of you who write novels do, but for me it’s big. I learned some more Spanish, too.
Things you want to accomplish next year: I want to write some stories, get better at typing, wear my pronoun pins in public… I have a lot of goals.
Anything I didn’t add that you’d like to mention:Whew, what a long form. Got me really thinking. -
pangolinGuestshe/they
Outskirts of the GalaxyFavorite book/s: dracula >:D and the raven cycle, of course
Favorite song/s: “youth decay” by sleater-kinney, “storm warnings” by florence road, literally any mcr song
New music artists discovered: sleater-kinney, zombina & the skeletones, metric, helium, thursday, echo & the bunnymen, a lot more that i’m forgetting probably
Favorite music artist: my chemical romance
Best memory: uhh my sophomore year physics trip to six flags – the bus i was on broke down twice and we had to take a detour to brooklyn to get it fixed, and so, after an epic and harrowing journey, we arrived at the park approximately two hours after everyone else. however, once we got to the park, my phone died so i couldn’t find anyone i knew, and the park only accepted credit cards but all i had on me was cash, so i couldn’t rent a locker and thus couldn’t go on the majority of the rides. the only real rollercoaster i was able to go on was a rickety wooden one and despite the clear superiority of wooden rollercoasters, the whiplash from riding it seven times back to back might have been a little much on my poor neck, so i spent the rest of my time wandering the park and people-watching (and canadian-goose-watching, and very nearly being attacked by a canadian goose). it sounds kind of miserable but i promise it was actually very fun
A mistake you learned from: procrastinating my work and then stressing out about it. also taking ap seminar in the first place
Best craft/s: i really enjoyed bleaching designs onto various t-shirts :DD
A place you loved going to: pelham bay park in the bronx – i went on a field trip there in may and then went again over the summer. it’s the largest park in nyc, and there’s woods, salt marshes, and a beach, and it’s very beautiful and not terribly crowded 🙂
A fear you overcame: i was nervous about performing a poem at the new york city poetry festival, but it was really fun! plus afterwards i got to eat food and watch other poetry performances :)) and it was on governors island so i got to take the ferry >:)
Something you want to learn next year: skateboarding! (this is like the fifth year in a row i’ve said this)
A skill you picked up: guitar!
Favorite food: eggplant parm my beloved
Favorite movie/s or show/s: uhh some movies are stand by me, the warriors, knives out, nausicaa of the valley of the wind (or just about any ghibli movie honestly), and back to the future, and some shows are derry girls, only murders in the building, freaks & geeks, and eerie, indiana :))
A movie you saw for the first time this year and enjoyed: wake up dead man!!
Best season this year: summerrrr!! we didn’t travel over the summer this year, so i spent a lot of time visiting museums and parks, going to a few concerts, and working on various projects :] most importantly, there was no school!
Accomplishments for the year: performing at the aforementioned poetry festival, scoring 5s on both of my ap exams, presenting both my group and individual ap seminar projects, and learning (or attempting to learn :p) guitar
Things you want to accomplish next year: acquire friends, start a band, fix my sleep schedule, finish my ski lodge (or at least update it :p), and submit poetry/short prose to literary magazines
Anything I didn’t add that you’d like to mention: thank you for making this, hawkstar, and happy 2026 to everyone!!
