it is unfathomable to me how fast time flies.
i’ve been here for around three years now, since october 6th 2022. i’ve seen many, many CBers come and go (Hex, Darkvine, Scuttles, Jaybells, Chaser and Jay, Celine [?], Poinsettia [?] if you somehow see this, how are you? i hope you all are doing well [please note, i’m only listing CBers that are either inactive or nearly inactive, i’m not trying to leave people out]), and i myself have come and gone many, many times. (when i was younger, i was incredibly indecisive. i’m fairly sure i said i would leave the CB at least three times…only one of those times did i actually go on hiatus for about a year.)
i’ve seen the CB go through so many different phases. so many different ski lodges, roleplays, stories, and even artwork. i’ve received (and given, although my advice is not nearly as great) so much wonderful advice from this wonderful little community over my three years on this forum.
this sounds ominous, i promise you: it’s not. i’m merely here to say thank you.
you see, i’ve been thinking about all my time spent on here. there was a point where i pretty much spent every moment of free time on the CB (i was much younger and didn’t have anything else to do). i hadn’t realized it until recently when i was thinking about the CB, but the CB has been such an integral part of my life. it’s helped me realize things about myself, the world, and other people, and it’s helped me be more accepting of myself and others. it’s what motivated me to hone my talents and my pursue love of the arts (music, reading, art, and writing). i can hardly believe how much the CB has affected me (one thing i can say is that the CB has only influenced me in positive ways).
so thank you. thank you, admins (seriously, with how much you do for the CB, you should have a day dedicated to you all. actually, that reminds me to ask: are all of the original admins still here?), CBers, and the magazine itself. thank you so much for helping make me and so many other kindred spirits who we are. i truly appreciate everything you all have done for me and others. i truly believe that you all will always hold a special piece of my heart, and honestly? i don’t mind it at all.

(this may seem like a farewell, but i can assure you it will not be. i will probably be on the CB just as much as i am right now–which is only every once in a while, but that’s ok. when i leave, which will not be anytime soon, i will be sure to let you all know!)
(alright, everybuggy, you know the drill: this was not proofread–any grammar, spelling, or punctuation mistakes i made were caused by a wizard casting a spell on me…or perhaps it’s just because i didn’t proofread. you choose!)

This is so beautifully written and expressive! It’s true for me as well – the CB is a gift, a group of people and ideas that has given me some of the most unexpectedly lovely parts of my life.
@virtue, you’ve been a wonderful part of the CB yourself, and I’m so glad you joined all those years ago! (Time certainly does fly…)
As for me… hehe I suppose I did sort of unintentionally disappear for a bit, but I wouldn’t call it leaving. I don’t intend to say farewell to the CB yet! But I apologize for just disappearing <3

thank you so much! yes, definitely. i’ve come to realize that the CB is pretty much a fundamental part of all of our lives, which is just so interesting to me.
oh my goodness, thank you so much! i truly appreciate it. you’ve been such a delight to the CB as well, and i always look forward to reading your comments or advice.
no worries, haha! i wasn’t intending to call anyone out, sorry if it came across that way. also, never feel pressured to chat on the CB, if you need a break we completely understand (: mental health is soo important! <333

*sniffs* This is so true… The CB has shaped me enormously as well – it’s given me a place to share all my thoughts and writing, and meet so many people more like me than I would ever have imagined other people to be, and made amazing friends, and found a little home on the internet. You are all wonderful, and I’m so grateful to have you. Also, thanks for posting this, virtue – it’s great to hear from you! As Poinsettia said, you’ve contibuted to the CB yourself in wonderful ways

aww, you’ve been such a good friend to me as well! i always wonder how you’re doing, even when i’m not super active on the CB. it’s ok, i’m sorry i haven’t been very active on it either–i still love talking to you as well. you’re always such a delight to talk to! you’re so wise (i know we’re the same age, but Peri, you have the wisdom of someone who’s been on this Earth for eons!) and give quite literally some of the best advice i’ve ever received. love you too!! <3 /p

You are an amazing part of CB, and it’s crazy how time flies. CB truly is such a wonderful place, it has shaped me a lot to a different person who is more kind and thoughtful than a few years ago. Hope to continue seeing you around cb!

I remember you, and I’ve always loved to read you around…This was a really beautifully written letter. I’ve also been on the CB a while, and it holds a special piece of my heart as well…Is there anyone who’s been here a long time who can’t say that?
