Rangers Apprentice Series
by John FlanaganWill is a 15 year old boy who lives in an orphanage type home. At the age of 15 these children must choose a craft that will be their profession. Will isn't good at any of these things, battle school, cooking, scribe school, etc. So Halt, a ranger decides he will take Will as an apprentice.
My favorite characters are: Will, Halt, Horace (Will's wardmate), Jenny, and Old Bob. This book is very well written and I believe has ten books in the series.

I literally started reading "The Ruins of Gorlan" this morning. It's good so far. It's kind of like the Song of the Lioness series. But maybe that's because I just read that.
