Ella Enchanted

by Gail Carson Levine

This book is amazing and nothing like the movie! (Even though the movie is good) Ella is an ordinary--well, almost ordinary--girl born with a curse to do everything she is told to. So if someone aked her to do the dishes, take out the trash, even chop her own head off, she'd have to obey.

The book came before the movie, cause the movie is based on the book.

I hated the movie, but loved the book. They changed so many things in the movie

Don't judge this book by the movie, the book is so much better.  They changed a lot of things in the movie. If you like retellings of fairytales then you will love this book.

I love the movie and the book!!! The book captures you from the innocence of Ella to the wickedness of Hati. The movie made me laugh and cry.

Yeah, I didn't get that it was a retelling until really late in the book. It was awesome when I did, though!

No problem, Amy!

ANYWAYS ummm well I read the book and saw the movie and I liked the movie as well as the book...

I don't think the book is as spoky though but probably because you don't VISUALLY see the people acting it out... another reason I probly was freaked out by the movie was because the first time I saw it I had no idea what to expect becauese I never read the book then and also because I watched it at a sleep over at my friends house at 10 or 11 at night and the 2nd time I saw it I was freaked out because I was in a hotel room by myself watching it and then out side it started to storm so That is probably why I was freaked out!

Sorry this is sooooooo long !

This book is SO good! It's one of my favorites. I like Ella and Mandy best, but I don't think that the book would be quite so funny without Hattie and Olive.:) I for one, like the book much better then the movie.:)

I totally agree with you! Ella and Mandy and Prince Charmont are my favorite characters. I personally think that the book is way better than the movie but the movie is still pretty good.

In the movie, Olive looks like a deformed mouse with overgrown teeth.
