Thin Wood Walls

by David Patneaude

Thin Wood Walls is about an eleven year old boy, Joe Hanada, a Japanese American citizen. His life is pretty normal- Getting ready for Christmas holidays, playing basketball with his friend Ray, etc.- until the Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor. Everyone starts treating him and his family differently because they are of Japanese decent. His father is taken away by the FBI, and Joe and his family are taken to Japanese internement camps. Life will never be the same for Joseph Hanada.
