Artemis Fowl

by Eoin Colfer

This book is about a twelve year old boy name Atremis Fowl. Artemis is no ordinary kid, he's a tween criminal, and he's really good at it. His father has been missing for a long time, and his mothe is sick. Artemis is practically raised by his body guard named Butler. Artemis, (with the help of Butler) succeeds in capturing a farie named Captain Holly Short. Holly is held hostage until the farie world releases to Artemis a large sum of golden coins. The ending is amazing, but I won't spoil it for you. There are sequels, i think there are about five more books. I've only read through the third one, but they are very well written, and they capture your attention from the very beginning of the series. Hope you enjoy!

I thought this book was great too! I loved how Eoin Colfer thought everything out so well, and it was a great mix of funny and serious. My favorite character has to be either Artemis (obviously) or Mulch Diggums. Artemis is so extremely ingenious that it's hard not to like him, but Mulch's, er... special abilities are just hilarious. I'm not going to say what they are so it stays funny for people who haven't read it yet. :) In my opinion, most of the other books are just as good as the first, if not better. I especially liked The Lost Colony (book 5).
