I'm thinking but I can't breathe

there's some monster inside of me

I never would have thought again

like a road of nothing that I just said

it's so magic it's extra plain

a drought a drought of pouring rain

chasing contantly standing still

I'm so healthy that I'm ill

take me away as I stand right here

I'll never leave but I will disappear

I get it yet I don't understand

you can make a wish but not a plan

confusing yes but isn't it odd

how the opposite of opposite is making me nod

Didn't we all agree on no more deadlines? I would've entered a poem, but I wasn't able to use my computer before. I don't like this idea of "you have to enter this by such-and-such date". It really excludes others. 🙁

You can still submit a poem. A date was just set for choosing winners, because otherwise they never would be announced.

Yes, I was never good at poetry.

I'm not at all good,

I'm hiding in my hood,

cause my poetry stinks,

like a couple of minks.

I know Winter won,

As I'm not number one,

in poetry moetry doetry.

so congrats to all,

I'm gonna go to the mall,

to grab some dall,

whatever that is.

tut tut to me,

I shouldn't be seen,

and I feel green,

cause I'm horrid.

I'm gonna say Morrid,

and I'm gonna say Zorrid,

and Orrid, and Yorrid, and Porrid,

as they all rhyme with Horrid. 

But that doesn't really matter,

As I'm going to Hatter's,

for a cup of tea,

and to say "wee wee!",

like I'm French.

but does gall mean anything,

everything, or nothing at all?

and I really should be going, 

But does it really matter,

I'm sorry, I can't write rhyming poetry that well, so I'm just going to write free-verse.

      I am 

I am a dreamer

I am a dreamer and imaginer

   I make peace and hope in the world 

I hear the bird's song floating on the breeze

   I see the colors of the sky and the beauty of the sunset

   I want everyone to notice what I notice, because the world would be a better place.

I am fearful and fragile, but brave all the same 

  I use my imagination to show the best of me 

I feel sad when the world spins around

and time wisks away

I touch a flower and feel its warmth on my fingertips

    I worry that someday, hidden magic will unleash itself into the world.

I wonder why I came into this world, in this body

     I am small and delicate

       I understand what the wind and waves say just before a storm 

I say what seems best, no matter what

I dream that someday, earth will be a better place to live 

I try to express my feelings through my words

         I hope I am not the only person who notices the stars

For the stars are beautiful.
