LyraParticipantI am just sitting down in the coziest chair in the library with a book that I found, called The Star Shard, when I look up and see a boy who was sitting at the other end of the library vanish into thin air. I sneak quickly over and to the chair he was sitting on and look around. There is nothing there but the book he dropped. I lean over and read the title. It says,"The Magic Book for Children". I pick it up and drop down into the boy's chair. In a few moments I am captivated. I open it up to the middle and it opens up to a chapter on elves. Ever since I read The Lord of the Rings I have been in love with elves. I mouth the first few sentences. "Elves have always been known to have a very long life span, presumably they live up to be a thousand. They have also been known to be very beautlful and immortal. They live in forests and mostly live by themselves. Just then time seems to freeze. I look up then down, thinking my eyes were playing tricks on me. When I look down at the book again I see a sentence starting to come out of the book and swirl around me. Then another and another. Very soon I am being circled by hundreds of words. Then one sentence comes ot of the book and hovers in front of my face. It reads: "They live in forests". Then everything becomes black. When I wake up I hear birds twittering. I look up at a green canopy of leaves above my head. I hear a voice singing and then I see a woman dressed in green and brown with a bow and arrows slung over her shoulder and a dagger on her belt. She was very beautlful. Then I black out.

I watch Aster with an open mouth as she disappears into thin air. I glance at the book, and pick it up.
I open it up to the first pages. It's about fairies. And then I gasp as I'm flung into the forest.

I am going to do a post for the libaren. (I don't know how to spell that.)
I look up from stamping books and survey the library. It is empty. "That's strange," I think, "a few minites ago there were three children in here; now they have all vanished." "You're getting old, Mayble, and deaf," I say to myself. Then I go back to stamping. -

Appearance: Blond, green eyes, fairly pretty.
Personality: Really smart and funny, but offended easily.
Related to: Frost elves and Mermaids.
Other: Ends up falling for Jack.
I opened the book to the chapter on mermaids. Suddenly I appear in a boat with a boy. We both yelp.
He says, "You too?"
"I-guess- where are we?" I looked around, trying not to hyperventilate.
Suddenly- I couldn't believe it- a mermaid leapt up out of the water. We realized what she was doing too late, and we fell into the lake.
Diamond, amethyst, and emerald gemstones seemed to swirl around me. Silver dust tumbled around my legs, and it suddenly occurred to me I could breathe underwater.
I looked down. I had a glimmering mermaid tail, and so did he.
The mermaid giggled and swam away, her scales blinking in the crystalline water.

GAOK, are my facts right? Aster picked up the same magical book that transported Nellethiel and Zack into Soyrema. Zack and Nellethiel ended up popping into the same boat together (or is there another charrrie named Jack whom I overlooked?), and that makes three people who have made it to Soyrema? Excluding the librarian who thinks she's either going blind or hallucinating. Thanks guys! Ya'll are doing a great job.

I look around, eyeing my surroundings carefully. My eyes widen as I watch something glittery fly toward me…. Is it… A fairy?!
"'Ello, madam! What brings you here?" she asks, giggling at the confused look in my face.
"…A book, it seems," I grumble mostly to me.
"A book, you say? My my, the prophecy has indeed become true!" The fairy smiles. She raises her hands up and twirls them around. I feel myself growing smaller and I yelp.
"Never fear, my dear! I got this all covered!" she squeaks. Something is on my back, but by this time I'm pretty sure what she is doing.
I fall onto the ground with a soft plop. I race to the water, eager to see what I look like.
I'm a fairy. I admire myself and squeal with delight.
"See, my darling? Isn't it lovely?" The fairy laughs. "Look, I gotta tell you somethin'. The only reason I was able to turn you into a fairy is because you are… Well, related to fairies." I turn around.
"Wha?"
"Yes yes, surprise surprise. Anyway, there is some kind of tellin' that these kids who are related to elves, dwarves, faires, or dragons will find a book about our land, Soyrema, and will be transported to any place in Soyrema. And it looks like it's true. I better go tell our fairy king." The fairy eyes me carefully. "You know how to fly?"
"er… Sure?" And the next thing I know, I'm flyin'. Now this is amazing! I twirl around, laughing.
"Gee, you are havin' some fun," the fairy says. "And by the way, my name is Relina." I nod my head carefully. He smirks and flies off into the trees.
I race toward her, laughing and giggling. And I say it again: This. Is. Amazing!
We soon reach the fairy home. It's a large tree, twirling around and around and around. Relina frowns suddenly.
"The elves are here. What do they want?" She races toward the king, who is already outside.
"What is it?" Relina asks. I already see the answer.
"It's true. The telling is true. You have already found the fairy relative, and here is the elves relative." I look at Aster and smile.

I exhaustedly fling myself onto my favorite beanbag chair in the local library, tossing my enormous backpack onto the worn pale blue carpet on the floor next to me. It's been a long day, and all I want to do is read. I curl my legs under me, snuggling up in the beanbag and scanning the bookshelves behind me for a good book. I can already tell that I've already read most of these twice. When are they going to refill this place?
With an exasperated sigh, I continue to search, and eventually my eyes land on a rather oddly large book in pale brown leather, the words "The Magic Book for Children" adorning the cover in shimmery gold lettering.
Well, this is new.
I pick up the book curiously, surprised at the lightweight feel to it, despite its massive size. Judging from the title, it seems a bit babyish – it is for children, anyway. But there's no harm in taking a quick peek, is there?…
My eyes dart around the library hastily. There's nobody around, so I snatch up the book and open it up.
An adorable painting is printed on the shiny white page, and the words above it read "ANIMALS." It must be the beginning of a chapter. I examine the image closely. Lion cubs, monkeys, elephants – I can't contain my excitement. I've always had a huge heart for animals. Funny that I landed on this very page!
Underneath the picture is a small paragraph, perhaps a caption, typed in black ink. I bring the book closer to my face.
"Animals are much more than house pets or zoo creatures," it proclaims. "In fact, each animal is born with a magical spirit inside their soul that gives them different powers."
I roll my eyes. Is this some sort of a fantasy story? Next, something strange occurs. The sentences seem to come alive, flying off of the pages and soaring through the air around me. I stare at them dizzily. What's happening?
And then my vision goes dark.

Aster
I wake up to the sound of murmuring. I look around and see a small dark room lined with books and cabinets ful of plants. There are also plants hanging from the ceiling. I move my arm and then freeze with the pain. The murmuring voices come to my door then stop. A door that I hadn't seen opened and the elf I had seen in the forest came in, accompanied by an older one. The one I had seen before was so tall she nearly bumped her head on the door frame. She had golden hair and very blue eyes. She wore a green tunic and a brown cloak with a hood and she had her bow arrows and knife. The little women pushed her aside and walked over to my bed. She pushed up sy long sleeve and I see a blood-stained bandage. "H'mm," she says with a nod of her head. "It's improved". "Can sombody tell me what has happend?" I ask. The elf gives tht other women a questing look and she nods. "When I found you in the woods I was going to the city to give the king some news. I turned a corner and saw you and a huge wolf. The wolf had clamped his jaws around your arm. I shot the wolf then used my tunic to make a bandege for your arm, which was bleeding heavily. Then I took you to this healer and you have been here for two days. Meanwhile I must ride to the city and deliver my news to the city. "Can I come with you?" I ask. "I am strong enough". "Yes you may; after all you are a human."
-
DanieParticipantMellie~
I notice her damaged arm and ask her what happened.
"Oh, a wolf had got me. This elf right here saved me. She was going to bring your fairy king some news when she saw me. So she had to go back to elf city, heal me, and then come here to bring the news," she explains. I nod.
"And… You're a fairy?" she asks. I laugh.
"I have a tiny body and wings. Whadda think?"

My eyes widen in shock.

NeverlandSaoirse~~
I walk into the library, my boots clicking on the floor.
Click. Click. Click. Click.
They click their last click as I walk up to the librarian's desk. She looks up from the book she was stamping, an old green book with no name on the cover.
She pushes her glasses up and smiles. I smile back as she says, "Good morning Saoirse! How have you been?" She's so humble and warm; she reminds me of my grandmother.
"Good! Drama club has been going great as well!"
She smiles, and mentions something about a book-shelving meeting and I just nod my head, eager to devour another book.
She rambles on and on before she notices she was rambling. When she finally notices, she looks up at me and I smile as she smiles back. As she goes back to stamping books, I slip away to one of my favorite corners of the library.
There is one beanbag chair in the corner, one that I always sit at. Not many people go to this corner, so I'm normally alone. But, I notice a beanbag chair not far away. A book lies in front of it.
Intrigued, I pick up the book. It's green and has the title written in gold. I've never seen it before, so I open it, since it seems to be about fantasy: one thing I have and will always love.
I flip to a page. It's about mermaids and the magical world they live in. I sigh, thinking about how wonderful it would be to be one. Swimming all day, not a care in the world.
Suddenly, one word jumps off the page. Then another. Then another. Finally, the page is blank, except now the words surround me, circling me like whirlpool.
The next thing I know, I'm in a rowbot that is about to be flipped over, two other people in it with me.
Sorry it took long for me to to this! I hope it's good so far! I think Saoirse will just be a mermaid. Hmm… Maybe.
-
CurioParticipant~Corina~
Huh. A book on the floor. Definitely a new low for the librarian. I've visited this section often enough, but wouldn't you think I'd have noticed a big green leather-bound book with a sparkly golden title? Maybe it's on loan from another library. But if that's true, then why did the person who requested it leave it here? In any case, it's intriguing. I pick it up for a closer look.
The book looks like it was made in the Middle Ages, and yet it's good as new. The title, The Magic Book for Children, is too shimmery to be real gold, and the emerald green of the cover is too vivid to be real leather…isn't it? This book just gets stranger and stranger. I plop myself down in a beanbag chair and let the book fall open at random. The left page is filled with a color image of a silvery dragon swooping down after prey. The right page is the beginning of a chapter: Dragons and Other Magical Animals.
But then I can read no further, as the words come alive.
They rear up off the page like a snake's head, regarding me coolly. An old, musty smell fills my nostrils, like a forgotten attic with some not-altogether-normal things packed away. There's a rush like a waterfall at the edges of my hearing, together with a roar I could swear was the dragon from the picture. Then the words begin to coil around me, first like a boa constrictor and then like a whirlwind. Everything rises – the sound, the words, my fear – and then I'm falling backward into darkness.

GAHELP! I'm so confused! Does Nelllithiel fall for Zack or is there a character named Jack whom I overlooked? I just wanted to know where I should go with the story. Nellithiel's an awesome character by the way! keep up the good work!

NeverlandI think she meant Zack.
-
BrookeiraParticipantYes, it's Zack.
I start to swim towards the two people, but everything goes black and I am suddenly near a.. fairy and another girl.
I look down. I have an obsidian staff carved with snowflakes.
The two gasp. "Who're you?"
"I look like a Frost Elf," I say to myself.
Suddenly a white robed man who looks exactly like me walks in.
"You are half Frost Elf. Welcome, Nellethiel."
-
DanieParticipantMellie~
I blink, looking toward the supposidly half frost elf, Nellethiel.
"Gee, I'm glad I don't need to carry that thin' around," I say, glancing at the staff. Nellethiel is taking this way more seriously then needed.
"This… This seems impossible.."
"Look, almost half the day was impossible. I find it quite amazing!" I giggle, my hair bouncing on top of my neck.
"Oh, please," she says, looking offended. I look at the robed elf.
"Dude, aren't a bit hot in those? I'm quite fine in these fairy clothes. And seriously, the staff? All fairies have to do is wave their hands around and babam! I turn that rock into a angry blue eyed potato!" I look at him again. He looks very red in the face. Gee, people need to get a chill pill some time!
"But fairies are annoying, uncontrollable, unwise, mischievous little globs of magic," the elf says with his chin in the air.
"And that's why I enjoy my time, unlike elves, who are wise, serious, too polite, and with no sense of humor," I snap back.
