Rose budParticipantStar Ruby~
Nenyala and Frubin lead our party as they know the area best. As we leave Furbin's property, I take one last look at the star that has been there for 5 years. What exactly did I do that night? Everyone says I controled the stars, but it felt like there was something more, something magical involved.
"If we climb this hill, we will look down right into the river. We will see the Elemental Threesome and can attack from from the hill," Nenyala declares, shuddering as she says the word 'river.' We tramp through underbrush and push aside vines. Whatever we are climbing is bigger than a little hill. We come to a steep face of rock that goes up about ten feet to the top of the mountain.
"We have to climb!" Furbin points to the rocks.
"I'll go first," Saphina leaps onto the rocks and finds footholds easily. She nimbly climbs to the top in minutes.
"C'mon up! The climbing's good!" Shy waves to us from above.
"Easy for you to say," Gretta surveys the steep cliff.
"I'll fly you up," I promise, and grab hold of Gretta's waist. I struggle to get her to the top, and we bash into the wall a couple times, but we make it. I fly Leila up while Nenyala and Furbin climb. Looking down on the river, I think of Kaster. Where is he now? I wonder.
"We'll wait her for the Elemental Threesome, you'all might as well get some rest, we are in for a big battle. I'll keep watch," Saphina says.
"I'll watch with you," Furbin speaks up. I lay my cloak underneath me like a pillow, and close my eyes, thinking that I will not be able to sleep.
-
DanieParticipantFurbin~
I look around the cliff, memories streaking through me.
I remember my childhood days, playing with other wolves in my pack. Now I'm…. Alone. I look at Saphina, who seems caught up in her own thoughts. I look to the river, wondering what will be in store for us now. Suddenly, storms rise up. Lightning streaks around the ground, and I see a person.
Lightning. I wake up everyone.
"They are here! They are HERE!" I shake the others shoulders, and Saphina holds her cutlass protectivly.
They came to soon. We are not ready…. I seen a creature, a shiny creature… Crystal. I see some fire in the distance, telling me that the elemental quartet is complete… Except, without River.
"Grab you weapons!" I shout, holding my axe.
"We are in a bad situation…." Star worries. "It would be easy to fall."
"You can fly," I reply.
"True." She holds the cutlass and screeches a war cry, something that I'm surprised she would do.
"NOW" Nenyala shouts.

ForrestLeilaParticipantLightning crashes all around and I hear Star give a loud shriek. I shiver remembering our last battle and I am struck by horrible memories of being injured. Fighting back the fear I summon a sheild to surround me and my friends, I see Tuma approach one of the threesome with a horrible look on her face they are fighting to the death.
-
OtR/SaphinaParticipantSaphina~
Star Ruby screeches, Nenyala shouts, and we pounce. I leap, hoping to get Crystal, the one I'm sure I'll beat. But no. The Threesome has planned. My leap takes me to Flaimme. I pause for one second, and with that time, Flaimme throws fire at me. She burns the hand not holding the cutlass. It hurts, oh, how it hurts! But I must be as strong as always. I stumble back, and swing wildly arond with my cutlass. I nick Flaimme's shoulder, and she shreiks and throws more fire. I duck and roll this time, and escape the flames. But not for long. Flaimme dives to the ground and nabs a dry twig. She holds it in front of her, and with a flick of the hand the twig is on fire. She throws it to the mossy riverbank, a few feet away from where I am standing. It catches fire. I yell and jump back. Flaimme chuckles. The fire keeps spreading…into the water. The water is ON FIRE. I gasp.
Flaimme snarkles again. "Yes," she says. "Since River was froze and transferred to a buriel ground, Master has given me power over water. Water and fire. Complete opposites, yet together, they are invincible."
In the time it takes her to gloat, I stab her thigh, and Flaimme keels over. I pick her up, and throw her into the river. I know she won't drown, and she won't burn, but it gives me a chance.
-
Rose budParticipantStill in Florida :)Star Ruby~
I don't know what I am doing. I yell "FOR MENAYA!" And bravely leap off the cliff soaring towards the threesome, only to drop my cutlass about two seconds later. I give another screech that sounnds more like "AAAAAHHHH" before I can remember how to fly. Disoriented, I stop myself from hitting the rocky river bottom just in time. Lightning is on the cliff above, surrounded by storm clouds. I can hear Saphina's yells and Flaimme's roars echoing off the canyon walls. Right as my heartbeat returns to normal, something slams into my leg, throwing me off balance. I whip around to face Crystal. Her spiky hair and angular body camoflodge her (Crystal is a girl, right?) against the rocky walls; so I didn't notice her before. She laughs as I cower away from her, my bruised leg flailing.
"Our powers are not so different, all the same, I will crush you!" Crystal's voice sounds like an avalanch of falling rocks.
"I… Um- think you've got… uh- who is crushing who a little… backwards… ?" I say feebly. In answer, Crystal throws more chunks of rock at me. Actually, she isn't exactly throwing them. They seem to obey her every command. I begin flying around Crystal to avoid the rocks. She is just toying with me. She can destroy me whenever she wants to I shudder at the thought. Gradually, I fall into a sort of pattern: Fly, dodge, swoop, dodge… A boulder races straight at me, but it bounces off without hardly any impact. Either Crystal is slowing down, or I am speeding up. I suddenly am aware that I am flying faster than I ever have before. I can feel the air pressure against my face, and my cloak snaps against my legs. I feel a warm tingling all over, and I look behind me. A stream of golden particals are flying from behind me. Just like a shooting star.

We all leap toward them, Star Ruby streaking to the ground toward Crystal. I look around, then see Saphina desperatly fighting Flaimme. I race forward, abadoning my axe and turning into a wolf.
Ah, that wonderful feeling! I don't remember the last time I was a wolf. I spent my days morning for Menaya, nevering transforming into a wolf from sadness. The fur on my back grows, and I feel my teeth sharpening. Saphina has already thrown Flaimme into the water, but I jumped right in.
The water wooshed through me, and I scratched Flaimme on the face. She screeched, but nothing could be heard in the water.

Gretta
I take on Lightning, feeling power course through my body as I use the power I've practiced for five years. Singing angelicly, too, as blasts of electricity fly back and forth.
"Your singing w-will not work on me!" Lightning insists. "I am IMMORTAL!" Suddenly, I'm filled with the instinct of the thirteen year old I am.
"Oh REALly? If your so IMMORTAL, then why did-"
"Um, Gretta? I don't think that' such a good idea," Leila says nervously next to me. I realise she's right as an enraged bolt of lightning flys at me. I bend and thrust my hands and glance over to see Furbin, in wolf form, raging through the grass.
"Out!" the lady said, pulling open the door. "You're a monster!"
"Please! I didn't mean it, honestly I didn't," the little girl stuttered. The woman, her mother, forced her out into the dark, cold world.
The rows of little girls in black dresses moved as terrified robots, stepping forward, unleashing their powers, trying not to see the targets that their masters had set up. One sang beautiful notes, trying not to remember that she was in an orphanage, an orphanage that made her do the very thing she dreaded.
A boy was blasted by lightning. A powerful girl was struck down. Lightning bounced back and hit the experimenting girl, who screamed and collapsed. Over and over and…
"What was that?" I shout, clutching my head, forcing back the memories. I look over and see the people I am shouting to staring painfully at the ground, gripped by memories. I wonder why we haven't been killed by the Elemental Three when I look over and see them suffering as well.

Nenyala-
I jumped and slammed Flaimme with water. She seems to forget that I also have Water and Fire. She was never the brightest; that title already goes to Riv-
We are laughing, splashing through the sunny water of the spring creek. Suddenly the water turns ice cold.
"River, we should get out," I say, worried.
"No, it's just cold! What could be–"
Se is pulled underwater. I scream and dig under the lake rocks for her. She is gone.
Two years later, I find her again. But she hates me.
I wake up from the reverie and keep slamming Flaimme with water, but I can't help but wonder who did that?
Flaimme is unconscious. I go to fight Crystal.
-
Saphina/OTRParticipantSaphina~
I run away from te battle, to catch my breath for a moment.
A little girl in green is sitting on a bench, a tall, dark man sitting next to her.
"Daddy," she says.
"Yes, darling?"
"Let's go home."
"Why, sweetie?"
"I have a feeling. We need to go home."
Little Saphina pulls Herbert Edwillow to his feet, and starts pulling him home. "Come on, Daddy!"
Suddenly, flames burst into life next to them. Little Saphina runs. Faster and faster she runs, to a large house sitting on a pretty lawn. She runs in the door, goes to her bedroom, flops on her bed, and goes to sleep. The next morning, Mother tels her that Daddy died in the flames.
So, this is why Saphina is afraid of flames! Cool, right!

SCStar Ruby~
I am suddenly flying so fast, that I can see nothing but golden flecks around me, and then it seems llike I am falling. Crystal, the battle, the river, the rocky walls, all blur and melt around me.
I am in the barn, Thitsan has just told me goodbye, and he picks up the leather sack and straps it onto his back.
"Star, our souls will always be connected, and you will always know where to find me. I will come back for you once I have had a good education. Be brave, now, and remember that we always leave something behind when we go on."
And then he is gone, strolling through the barn doors and into the sunshine. I trust him. The sunlight is so golden and brilliant, and my heart, though sad, carries on. I scatter grain for the chickens, and go in to supper without Thitsan. Sue and Ross Jaden, my parents, have left to go to the next valley to visit their friends. I fix myself some bread, and a slice of cheese, but I can't eat. I lie by the fire, and finally, the tears come.
I am older now, looking back to the home that I hate, that I am leaving just like Thitsan years ago. I nestle in the gliter tree, thoughts of hatered and anger coursing through me. The rustle in the underbrush, the lunging of the Chitzah wolf, the fear and desperation all pound on top of me. I run, the wolf rakes its claws against my back. It chases me to the edge of the cliff, and I fall onto the ledge. It breaks under my weight, and I fall. Voices and blackness all spin together, and then the blackness turns to something different.
Two forces seem to be fighting, and I am faintly aware of the battle around me. One force wants to control me, the other force wants me to see something. The second force wins for a second, and I see the Chitzah wolf agian this time by a river, a sound wells up in its throught Haagh," (Meaning forgiveness or apologies).
I shake everything away, and dodge one of Crystal's rocks. Nenyala is fighting Crystal with her cutlass (Star Ruby dropped hers :), I resume flying around Crystal, and I feel the heat flowing from behind me. I sweep against Crystal, and shoot away to avoid Nenyala.
Recognize the second memory? I was thinking from the begining that the Chitzah wolf had something to do with Furbin somehow.

Rose budParticipantTOP! PLEASE DON'T DIE!!
-
Rose budParticipantTOP! TOP! Why is this thread dying??
-
DanieParticipantFurbin~
I help Nenyala kick Flaimme into the dirt. She's unconscious. I swerve around, looking at Lightning. I race forward and then suddenly-
I aim my slingshot carefully. Patient. Careful. Fast. I let go of the string, sending the rock flying into the rabbit. The rock hits it's head, and I make the kill with my dagger.
I come back to our camp, a job well done. I turn into a wolf, to carry my prey in my mouth.
I don't make the big kills with the Hunter Wolves, because I'm too young. However, I still can go out and catch some small prey. We need these too, especially in these cold winter seasons. I shiver despite myself.
I bound toward Pernada, one of my friends here.
"Hello, Pernada!" I nudge him, but then I noticed he was distracted. "Is there something wrong?"
"Furbin… While you went hunting… Ternci called for a meeting… He… He said that you didn't belong here…" I always knew our leader, Ternci, had a grudge against me… But… "Yensang tried to stop him… He said being hybrid didn't matter… B-but he couldn't. Ternci kicked him hard." I gasp.
"Yensang… My…" My voice shakes. Yensang… The old wolf who took care of me…. Ternci kicked him. "…So… Did Ternci decide that I would leave camp?" Pernada tried to reply, but his voice seemed choked. He just nodded.
"Well… Then. I will leave. Am I allowed to say my goodbyes?" Pernada shook his head. "Fine. I will leave. Goodbye, Pernada."
"Goodbye, Furbin. May the woods never block your prey."
"You too, Pernada. Goodbye…" I nestle his fur, and, not looking back, I bound away.
I find my backpack, turning into a human to carry it. I stuff my tail into my pants, and put my prey into the backpack. Holding my slingshot tightly and my teeth clinched, I walk into the forest of leaves.
Leaves, leaves, and then darkness. I see tears… Oh no….
I call out, jumping on Menaya and turning into a wolf.
"You will not hurt Nenyala!" I snarl, fighting her. She narrows her eyes and stabs me in the shoulder. Suddenly Menaya's eyes open.
"I am causing to much harm… Can't I be good for once?" Menaya whispers. She raises her sword, and points it toward herself.
"Menaya… No… PLEASE NO!" She stabs her heart, my hand reaching toward her.
"Nononononono Menaya Menaya…" I cry out, shaking her. It seems like the world is frozen.
"Please you're not dead… You can't die…" I look at Menaya. Her eyes look at me, blinking once.
"At least I won't cause any harm to anyone… I did good…" Her eyes… Dead, a cold frozen look. I turn back to human, unable to hold my wolf form.
"MENAYA!" I howl.
I find myself on the ground, shaking my head, groaning in dispair. Who gives me these memories, memories I try to forget?… Menaya…. Oh Menaya…. I clutch my heart, mumbling to myself and groaning. Gretta is right next to me, holding me. I realize for a moment, everyone is on the ground, feeling their head and stomach. Memories…
I push myself up, turning back into a wolf, and grabbing Lightning.
Nonononononono Menaya Menaya…
Another scratch, claw the people who destroyed Menaya…
Please you're not dead… You can't die…
Another, and another.
At least I won't cause any harm to anyone…
A punch, more punches…. Tears of unhappiness…
I did good…
I slap myself onto the ground, not able to take it anymore.
MENAYA!

Over The RainbowParticipantSaphina~
Furbin claws at Lightning. Lightning is helpless.
Suddenly–
Lightning crashes outside. A stormy night. The night of Halloween. Inside the mansion, Little Saphina is warm and protected. But she feels no love.
Her Daddy. That's all she really wants. Her Daddy. She curls up in a ball in his rocking chair, and lets out a sob for what seems like the millionth time.
"Ahhh! Daddy!" she cries, and hugs her knees tight. The door opens to the library, and Nonnie, the night maid, steps in.
"Child, why are you up so late? And what are you doing here in the library? Get back to bed! And don't make so much noise! The Misstress is sleeping."
Saphina lets out another sob. "Daddy, I want Daddy! Daddy would make everything right!"
"Come, child", the maid says gruffly, and lifts Saphina onto her hip to carry her to bed.
A tear slips down my cheek. I sniffle. I feel a warm arm around me. Nenyala.
"Daddy", I whisper.
-
Rose budParticipantStar Ruby~
No, don't allow yourself to be drawn in. I fight the memories, and break through. Flaimme is unconscious, and I cannot see Lightning. Gretta is standing further down the river, standing completely still, looking stunned. Furbin is lying on the ground, howling "Menaya!" In angiush. I don't see Leila either, so I assume she is fighting Lighting further down the river. Saphina sits on the rocky blank, crying "Daddy! Daddy!" Helplessly. Nenyala is still fighting Crystal. I launch myself back in the air, though there is little I can do. Suddenly…
Leila is lying on the floor helpless, with Kaster standing over her. His sword lowers, cutting across her chest. Leila… Leila… No… It was my fault, and now the wound still hurts her.
"No, no… my fault… Leila" Crystal bashes me in the legs, and I am falling. I'm helpless, I couldn't save Leila, I can't fight Crystal…
"A star," I croak, "please, just one star. I just need a little magic." I fall face-down into the river, overcome. Something hits the water, and floats down on top of me. My eyes closed, I reach out for it, sensing where it is. A tiny star, a tiny lump of magic, is in my hands. It comforts me and makes me stronger. I come up, gasping for air, the star inclosed in my palm. Crystal is standing over me, ready to kill. I throw the star, right at her. I can see its trail of heat slicing through the air…
-
BrookeiraParticipantCrystal screams as the star hits her. The elemental threesome aren't doing well. I rush around, waking people out of their reveries and painful memories (I have to slap Furbin, but he understands.) before plunging into another of mine…
It's dark. I wait by the lake, shedding a tear in memory of my sister.
A dark hand muffles my mouth and I scream…
I wake up quickly. Gretta's okay, she's taking down Lightning. Crystal is being overwhelmed. Flaimme is underwater and unconscious, she'll drown soon if no one does anything. We may still win this.

I fight Lightning, turning her every strike back on her. It's hard work, but even harder is focusing on anything but the orphanage.
Coldstone House was cold, indeed. Merger meals three times a day. Eight hours of sleep. And every waking moment that you wern't eating or sleeping, you'd be practicing your powers, forced into an orderly line in which you'd attack whatever the masters chose. When I turned seven, I couldn't stand it anymore. So I ran away and tried to survive for a year until Nenaya found me.
Stop it. You're doing it again. I think, refocusing. I blast Lightning with her namesake, forcing her slowly into a river, which will electrocute her and her efforts. Like we quenched the targets at Coldstone…
Shut up shut up shut up, I insist, narrowing my eyes and firing off blast after blast.
-
ForrestLeilaParticipantI see the sword drawn acrossed me over and over again, the pain comes back as sharp as if it was first happening again, I scream and fall on the hard ground, tears streaming from my eyes. Star Ruby was next to me and I come back to reality. Shaking I look around me, my heart beats once, twice, I'm alive but I have major burns all over my body, I prop myself up with my hand and look around. Ruins is what meets my eyes, and fighting, Gretta and Tuna are fighting hard, but they are weakening. I look arounand realize we are lost, it's over, they have won. Just then something caught my eye, a bright light growing brighter, I realize it's Star Ruby.
"Star." I whisper, "What are you doing?"
"Saving you, I can generate enough force to bring down the threesome but I have managed to shield our company from my power, Tuna helped me with that.
"No, what will happen to you?" I ask horrified
"I couldn't save you before,"she said looking directly into my eyes, "but I can now."
"No!" I scream, "We can still take them!"
"Look around you, we are dying one by one, but my power will linger in the sky, I'll become a star, look upon it and remember me."
She grew very bright and I blacked out it was too much for my weakened body to take.
If this is too abrupt an ending we can prolong it, just an idea I had.
-
OtRParticipantWhat if Star does sacrifice herself…but it doesn't work in the way she expected? Nenyala is able to do a spell that rewards bravery and gives second chances if Magic deems the victim worthy? Of course, we need Rosebud's permission as this really affects her character a lot. Not going to post now because we still need her permission.
-
Rose budParticipantCloudy Dweller just asked why I was so excited, and I said in a dramatic voice: "I died." She accepted this as normal 🙂 I don't think this is too abrupt, Forrest, it was actually along the lines of what I was planning.

Various placesCrystal~
My crystal body gleams in the light of the coming dawn. I look around. Flaimme is underwater… impossible to drown but not good. I raise my hand, and the sand and pebbles in the stream compress to create a solid rock spire rising out if the water with Flaimme on it. She's nearly gone out.
"No matter," Flaimme says. She pulls tendrils of fire from the ground and incorporates them into her body. She is her firey form once more.
I'm being kind of overwhelmed here. I send up tendrils of rock, moving fluidly, and wrap them around Star. I pull them back down and form a fist. There are shouts from the fighters as they ding themselves sinking into solid ground. Lightning and Flaimme use this to their advantage, ready to send a wave of flaming water onto them and send them fury from the sky.
"Wait." I ride a wave of solid rock over to Nenyala. I've fastened her to the ground but didn't make her sink yet. I walk up to her and say, "You turned River to ice. Now…" I snap off one of my crystal fingers and plunge it into her chest. Another one grows back instantly. There are gasps as from the feet up, she starts turning gray and hard. I laugh triumphantly.
"…I shall turn you to stone."
-
Rose budParticipantStar Ruby~
"Remember that our souls are stars, our souls will always be connected, and you will always know where to find me," I say to Leila, repeating the words that Thitsan said to me all those years ago. I had retrieved the star I threw at Crystal, and as I began shooting upward in a blast of light, I dropped it, knowing that it would always protect Leila. The Elemental Threesome would never be able to destroy their souls, now. The world turns black as my soul and body seperate, I am still Star Ruby, but I will never be the same again.
-
OtRParticipantSaphina~
And the world goes still. Star Ruby stands there, still and cold. A blank look on her face. Leila struggles to get out of the pile of rock, I pull her out by the hands. She runs up to Star Ruby.
"STAR! What happened? NO!" She starts to weep. and then, though I feel no breeze, I see Leila's hair wave. And for a second, one second that I know will never come again, I see Star Ruby's shadow, floating along. Dropping pebbles at our feet. I see a little silver-gray pebble land near me, and I pick it up. I pocket it, and I start crying again.
Daddy.
Menaya.
Star Ruby.
Such an awful list.
And then:
Nenyala speaks. "She is not gone. Her soul and body have seperated. I can bring them back together, but…"
"But what?" asks Furbin, icily.
"We need 8 people. We only have five."
I look up. "The threesome."
-
DanieParticipantWait, What? I'm confused. I thought Nenyala just died because she turned to stone.
-
BrookeiraParticipantSomebody, sorry… no. You literally had four charries, I only have one. Anyway, I made this rp. Also, we should make a good plot for this before ending it. Seriously.
-
Rose budParticipantStar Ruby's soul turned into a star, so for that last phrase I was kind of being funny by saying she was "Still Star Ruby but would never be the same again," because she is a star ruby now. So, yes
🙁 she is gone.
-
-
-
-
-
ForrestParticipantOoookay, we need to figure out what's going on, because there are multiple endings here and it's all confusing, did Star Ruby die? Or not?
-
DanieParticipantAlso, the rp can't just end after one battle. There should be some kind of twist where the quartet escape or something.
