My room is dark. Very dark. There are no windows, and why waste electricity on prisoners when we have very little?
My bed is a cot smaller than me in the corner of the room, and I sit there now. No one here to speak to me, to comfort me because I want dearly to escape but I don't know how.
I want to tell someone what's all bottled up in here, but I can't speak. I want to write it all down, but I forgot how to write years ago in the Happy Room.
Was it years ago? I don't know how long I've been here. I forget even coming here. I forget almost everything, because I try to escape. Some say too much.
I say there's no such thing.
The bell rings, and I report to breakfast. The same tastless slop we have every day.
The bell rings again. Testing.
If I don't go, I'll be sent to the Happy Room. I hate testing. It hurts, it hurts so much, and I can barely walk after it. But I know so much now, and I don't want to forget it.
I go.
"So," my tester says. "Let's see how long you can hypnotize this water for."
Water. I don't like hypnotizing ocean water. The ocean is stubborn and hot-headed and very, very difficult to control.
I close my eyes.
Move to the left.
Why?
Because I say so. Move to the left.
Moving to the left.
Now back to the right.
But that's pointless!
To the right.
Moving to the right.
Turn to-to a whirl-p-pool…
No way!
Do it!No! Why should I?
Stop resisting! Do it!No! GET OUT OF MY HEAD!
I gasp and pull myself out of the water's conctiousness, breathing in and out deeply, gasping.
"That wasn't very good at all," the tester says, shaking his head. "Why don't we do it standing up, on this goldfish?"
Standing up! I can't stand up! I can barely breathe right now, how am I supposed to hypnotize something again? And standing up?
"Or maybe you want to go to the Happy Room?"I close my eyes.
Do a loop-de-loop.
Who are you?
Does that matter? Just do a loop-de-loop.Okay! Doing a loop-de-loop!
Now…. flick your tail out of the water.
Okay! Flicking tail!
And… and…. spin around in a c-circle…Spinning around in a circ…..
I pop out, gasping. The room spins and the tester starts to fade, his eyes staring at me angrily.
And then everything goes black.

PrimroseParticipantI now that the story has already sort of started, but I would like to add a character…
Name: Nessa
Age: 14
Appearance: Blonde hair that is almost white. Bangs cover her purple eyes (yes, people can have purple eyes), is small for her age, wears shorts and bright colored tshirts.
Personality: Vivacious and happy, is friends with most everyone and laughs all the time. Has a hard time learning or catching onto things, but when she gets it, she remembers it forever. Sometimes she will space out for a minute or two.
Power: She can stop time. If she wants to, she can stop time for other people too.
Other: When she dreams, she sometimes gets snippets of her past, but not enough for everything to be put together or make sense. She also is not effected by heat or cold.

Dragonrider ParticipantGrace-
Bing, Bing, booong!!!
The lunch bell rings its five minute warning. Our eating time has almost concluded, but I have just arrived in the cafeteria. Instead of trying to eat as fast as I possibly can, I secretly tuck some food into the horrid, white uniform that we have been forced to wear. When I first came here with Jason, we were allowed to wear whatever we wanted, but then the evil people here decided that it could help us remember our past. Before the final warning bell rings I head up to my room. When I arrive I sit down on my cot, start to eat, and think of what I know about this place.
– None of us shoud be here, we're completely innocent.
– The reason we're here has something to do with our powers.
– After coming here, we cannot remember anything about our pasts and our powers get harder to use.
– The government is in control of this whole program.
– There's something terrible about this place. I don't really know why they need to test our powers or make us forget things, but whatever they're doing, it's sort of working.
-They tell us that Jason and I are in separate rooms because our powers could cause problems even when we aren't using them, but I know it's because there is probably some way that we could help each other remember our previous life.
– I know more about this place than Jason because he has been to the Happy Room more often than I have. I fear that someday, if we don't break out of here soon enough, he may forget that we are twins, or maybe even that we are siblings.
Well, my 15 minutes of free time is almost up, I better get down to the testing lab. I wonder what horrible task I will be forced to perform today.

DragonriderParticipantJason-
"You have failed your test!" yells the man who I have been forced to spend 2 hours of my afternoon with.
"I will now escort you to the Happy Room!"
"Ugh, not the Happy Room,"I think.
Every time someone goes in there, they get parts of their memory wiped. What's really annoying is that I think every time I go in there, this fact gets erased from my mind, and I have to relearn it. I don't really know though, because after coming out, I can't remember what happened earlier.
I get carried away in my thoughts and by the time I look up, We are at the door of the Happy Room.
"Wow, you really put up less of a fight than usual," the man says
"However, that does not mean that you don't have to go in this time," he says. "Just follow me…… OK good. Now sit down in this nice cozy chair."
I really don't want to, and I know what he'll do next, but I have no choice, there's no way out, except to trigger an alarm, which I've tried before. Let's just say that didn't end well and I ended up with a very long time in the happy room. I only know that because Grace told me about it.
I plop down into the soft chair and wait for the needle to be pushed in. When it is, I realize that this tester must be using a very torturous new memory wipe medicine stuff. This one makes you very, very calm and happy, but takes a VERY long time to start working. The whole time that you're calm, you know what's about to happen and you wish you could just get it over with, but it works so slowly that you get really frustrated, and risk getting more time in the Happy Room. By the time the stuff finally kicks in, I'm surprised I managed to hold it together for so long………. And then everything goes black.

Yuck.
Disgusting slop for breakfast as usual. Then it's testing. Well, I guess I could go to the Happy Room instead, but I think I'll prefer testing. I rarely go to the Happy Room, but the few times I did go, it was terrible.
I walk the short distance to the lab where I'm always tested. The doctor with the blonde hair sits me down and says, "Today, we're going to see what the heaviest object you can move with your telekineses. Sound good?"
It sounds terrible, but I know that if I disagree, I'll be punished. Missing a meal, or maybe even the Happy Room. "Sounds great!" I reply, as happily as I could. They said I would have to lift each object to the ceiling. That's five feet above my head, when I'm seated.
First I have to move a small rock. Easy. Then it's a plate. Still easy. On and on. It gets a little harder each time.
I start to get a headache. By the time they have me moving a 5 gallon bucket of water, my headache has devolped into a migraine. 5 objects later, I can barely stand.
The last object I remember moving was a block of marble or granite or something that the scientest said weighed 20 pounds. Once it had touched the ceiling, my body crumpled. I fell to my knees. The world was fading around me. Everything goes black.
************************************************************************
I know that's short, but 'm not a person who likes to type long pieces of writing without planning them out. Sorry.

The first thing I feel is searing pain on my cheek. Opening my eyes, I see my tester getting ready to wack me again.
"You're finally awake," he remarks. "Good, I have one more test for you to do."
I cock my head and point at the bell in the far edge of the room, indicating, Lunch?
"You missed it because you were unconscious. There are no rewards for laziness. Now, we're going to see if you can control inanimate objects."
I stare for a minute. Non-living?! Impossible! They don't have a consciousness to worm into!
"Well, get on with it," he remarks, pointing at a plastic cup. "We don't have all day."
Actually, we do, I think to myself, but I don't say it aloud. Instead, I send mind daggers towards the cup.
I feel them drift into a thin layer of consciousness and stop. Voicing it as clearly and loudly as I can, I say, Fall over.
I can't see it, because my eyes are squinched tight, but I can hear the Tester applauding. So I say, Stand upright.
He cheers.
Leap into the air.
Jump to the side.
"Get it to pick up some water," he says.
Retrieve water from the tank.
Suddenly, there are two awarenesses to struggle with. I say, Dump out the water.
Um, are you talking to me?
I switch consciousnesses. Dump out the water.
"Fantastic!" The tester cheers. "It's dinnertime!"
Panting, I open my eyes. I start to see spots, but ignore them and trop down to the mess hall, my legs feeling like hundred-pound weights.-

"Lift the car."
I grunt assent; talking consumes my energy. I use all of my mental energy and it touches the ceiling before I give a final push and…
hurl it at my Tester.

Dragonrider Participant@Danie- You said that I could give Grace one minor power, and that Jason's power was a lot like Banette's, but I don't really know of many powers. I've heard of telekinesis and things like that, but I don't know what they are. Does anyone have any suggestions of powers?
-
St.OwlParticipantRecarnated
EverywhereI'm sorry, I should have re-read my charrie profile. But here're a few answers:
-Telekeisis is, like, controlling things with your mind. Like, water telekenisis would mean you can control water, just by willing it to do something.
-As for suggestions:
-teleportation: of course, not too far, or you could escape easy, but maybe a few inches or so?-x-ray vision
-An auto-tuning voice: you know, high enough and you can shatter a pot (or maybe someone's eardrums.)

"Put the force field up," orders the tester. l glance nervously around. "Now! Or to the Happy Room with you!"
Feeling weak, l close my eyes and case out my mind like a net. When l open my eyes, the force field is in place, like a giant bubble, and faintly blue colored.
l place my hand on its surface as the tester points a laser beam at it. The beam gets stronger and my head starts to hurt. l almost black out when the pain gets overwelling and l drop in force field. l crumple to the ground.
"Get up. It's dinnertime," says the tester, harshly. l get up and head out the door, dizzy and almost tripping over my wings.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Over dinner l think over my list of things l want to know.
1. My last name.
2. Who my family is.
3. How l got my powers.
4. What the outside world is like.
5. Why l have wings, or if l'm really human.
The last one l think about the most. My wings are large, cumbersome, and mostly useless. lf l ever knew how to fly, l lost it in the Happy Room.
The testers assured me that l was human, but they could be lying. l mean really, if l were human, did l just grow wings?
l look around the room, bored. We aren't allowed to talk during dinner, which isn't a problem with me.
Hello. l say to Banette with my mind. She fiinches, not liking my voice in her head. Where is Hope? l haven't- A voice interrupts her. Inside my head
Edith? I sync. When I get no reply, I turn around. She's holding her head as if in pain. D-don't worry. I-I'll see what I-I can do, I send to her carefully, my head starting to hurt.
I send mind daggers into her head and search around for the other conctiousness. I finally find it and tell it, Go away.
Going away, it replies, and I open my eyes. I can see Edith shaking her head and looking around.
Edith.
She looks up.
Hey, Edith. I just controlled a person.
GallifrayLydia-
I sit in the mess hall and glare down at the disguisting slop that these torturers here feed us. It reminds me of wet cat food. I pick aimlessly at it with my fork. Maybe, if I don't eat, then I'll pass out earlier than usual at testing. It's depressing to think that that's the happiest thought I've had all day. I shudder and drop my plastic fork. I hate how I can't stop shivering.
"Lydia Smith!" shouts a harsh voice. I scowl and stand up. They call us all Smith here. I don't know why they even bother with last names. As usual, I'm marched into a white room with what resembles a dentist's chair in the center. I plop down as the psycho-scientist talks to me.
"Today, Lydia, we are going to see how much water you can control at a time. Sound like a plan?" I brighten inwardly at the idea. This could help lead to my escape. I add my best quiver to my voice, as part of my act.
"Umm, ok."
"I'm gonna need you to stand up for this one." I jump to my feet. I start with half a gallon, then move to a full gallon; we progress until I reach a full seven gallons, and I stagger backwards and pass out, my thin body still trembling.
I wake up in my cell. No reward for laziness. Probably missed lunch. No matter. I like being alone. Means I can finally cast off the act of the pathetic girl I pretend to be.
Water to ice. Water to ice. I mentally chant over and over. My palm frosts over, a ghostly glow in the pitch dark. Mother…
Sorry it's so long! I get kind of story crazy in things like this!!
"Clone the cup," my instructor tells me. I imagine seeing two of the cups, and then a copy appears next to it. My instructor smiles. "Alright, now clone yourself and hold the cup." I furrow my brow, but don't argue. I feel myself rip in two, and I open my eyes. I see double. I close one eye, and through the other I can see the clone's point of view. I try to move my legs, and then the clone's start to move. As I walk to the cup I turn to see my real body sitting in the chair. My head is turned and one is is closed. My legs are swishing in the air. I turn back to the cup. I reach for it, grasping it in my hands. "Very good, now I want the real you to hold the real cup." I mentally groan. I try to focus back to my real body, without letting the clone collapse. I stand up and slowly walk to the the cup, and stand next to the other trembling me. I reach for it, and I grasp it. But it's taking too much effort. I'm squeezing so hard, that the clone cup disappears. Then my clone dissipates, and I fall to the floor. "You'll need to work much harder!" she snapped. I sink back and whimper. "Ugh, it's dinnertime anyway." She shooes me out the door. "Bye Claire!" I say and walk out. "I told you, call me Ms. Nells" Ms. Nells was always my instructor. I worked best with her, and I always did what she told me to do. Or well try. She reminded me of something, but I didn't remember what. Going into the lunch room, I grab my tastless food and sit down.
DanieParticipantOh man… Maybe I should have made this rp with fewer people…
PLEASE! I WANT TO POST!
If you are going to post, make sure it's not right after your own.
-
DragonriderParticipant@Danie- Is it ok if I make two posts in a row because I have two charries and i don't want to make one really long post?
Also, I'll add teleportation for Grace's powers, I like what I gave Jason though, and I don't think the way that I'm thinking of his powers is too, too similar to Banette's.
——————————————————————
Grace-
I hurry down the hall and arrive at the testing room right on time. The heavy door swings open and a tester walks out. "My name is Ms. Linch" she says. I walk in and sit down at my usual seat. "Today, we will be testing how far you can teleport." She tells me.
I look into her head and see that her personality is currently worried. She's probably trying to make sure that I can't escape. She tells me to stand on the nearest black floor tile and to teleport to the nearest one three tiles away. I easily complete this task. The she tells me to come back and go to the next black tile, 6 tiles away. I do this over and over, and it gets harder and harder. Then comes the hardest thing I've ever had to do: go through a wall. I summon all of my energy and push as hard as I can. When the blast of electricity comes through, I am so close to getting through, but then I bounce back at the last minute. "Great Job, Grace" she says, but I can tell she's thinking about something else. Then she walks over to some other testers and starts talking to them. I hear her say "………..teleportation is too strong………………..escape………………Happy Room………………for the best…………" Then she comes back and says to come with her. Within 5 minutes we are in the Happy Room. "I brought you here not because you have misbehaved, but because there is something that we need you to forget………It's-It's for your own good." I know she's lying, and I know that the thing she needs to make me forget has to do with how well I can teleport, but what choice do I have? I just hope that I can remember one thing: that this place Has something evil about it and all of us test subjects need to get out as soon as possible. Those are my last thoughts before I black out.
DanieParticipantSpike~
The Testers are being harsher. Banette and Jason fainted, as well as a few others. My Tester, James, isn't the best but isn't the worst. He made me try to do defenses intead of offenses.
I go eat dinner. They recently removed Dessert, as Grace and Nessa where having a huge food fight. Didn't end well. Me, Nessa, Edith, and Jason ended up in the Happy Room.
Grace is going up to the Happy Room. She looks at me nervously and whispers quietly, 'they are going to make me forget teleportation'. Poor kid.
The Happy Room. The name brings shivers down my spine. The place that made me forget most everything. Except my name, the only thing from my past.
The Testers make me lie down on a bed, as they do something with a computer. They are taking longer then usual and all their backs are turned to me.
l leap from the bed and start to flap my wings, battering the Testers. Leaving them confused, l dash to the door, only to find it locked.
