Claire HParticipantThe pain felt as if it was tearing me apart. BIG found me, BIG actually found me! I thought. I finaly got a clue as to where my family is and they shot a bullet in my side! As I kept running I realized that I would have to get to some shelter. I soon saw a big cave. It could be dangerous, but I have to. I could die if I don't, I thought. I lept with all my might into the cave. Too late. I realized there might be hostile creatures in the cave.
As I slowly walked to the animal I could feel that it was peaceful to animals. It said to me: "Who are you?" Tell it the truth, I thought. "I am Claire, a human who doesn't want to kill you," I said. "I am the Gryphon and I don't trust you. You said you were human. Why do you look like a dog?" it said. "I am a shape-shifter," I said. "I promise I am not hostile. You can kill me if I ever try to kill you," I say. "I don't trust humans, yet you have a peaceful aura that tells me you are in need," he says. I was shot on my back by BIG." "No not that, it has something to do with family," he said. I bit my lip. "I have been looking for my family for a while." Your aura is very magical. Wait, he said magical, I thought. "I have a magical aura? "Yes it is very strong. It is definitely from a power." "No way," I said. "That must be a mistake." Though as I went through my head it made sense.

SecretThis is pretty good. There's the common missing-family story, the I-can't-be-special-what-is-this-nonsense-I-want-to-be-special-though thing, a slightly more unusual viewpoint and you are the first person I have known to meet the Gryphon. Maybe take out the bit about your being magical making sense, unless you have that part all figured out already.

AevrynParticipantIn the beginning, there was simply the spirit of the Void. Within the swirling depths of the Void, an egg was formed and from the egg hatched Ouroborus, the eternal serpent. Ouroborus gathered the energies of the void and formed seven Creatures to aid it in its work. First was a Gryphon, second, a Wyvern, third, an Amphithere/Amphiptere (whichever your preferred spelling), fourth, a Winged Wolf, fifth, a Leviathan, sixth, a Peryton and seventh and finally, a creature of unformed darkness. With the help of these Creatures, Ouroborus created a beautiful universe, full of wonderfull worlds, each with its own set of creatures and magic. At the end of all this, Ouroborus was tired, and it and its Creatures created a final, crowning jewel of a world: Kyngdom. Finally Ouroborus could rest. It sunk into this final world, to sleep, but the spirit of the Void, angry at the destruction of its peace and stealing of its energies, split itself in seven pieces, the seven Stalkers. The Stalkers hunted down the Creatures of Creation one by one and inhabited them, excepting the creature of darkness, whom the last Stalker could not find. The inhabited Creatures fell into Chaos, and the world of Kyngdom started unraveling around them. Ouroboros, in its last moments of wakefullness, exterminated the final Stalker, and Sealed the six inhabited Creatures into six Powers, Wing for the Gryphon, Claw for the Wyvern, Scale for the Amphithere, Antler for the Peryton, and the seventh Power, uneeded, was the Power of Fang. The Powers, excepting Fang, were given to the Flower Carrier, a creature as pure as Ouroborus itself, who was told to find trustworthy creatures of the world of Kyngdom to entrust them to, until such a time came that the contained Creatures could be purified. The Power of Fang was gifted to the last free Creature, the darkness, and then Ouroborus fell to sleep, to wait for eternity. The darkness formed herself into a creature named Claaws, and set out to find the other six Powers to unite them, for the seven Powers, when united by mortals as pure as the spirit of Ouroborus, will purify the Creatures of Creation, and bring peace and prosperity to Kyngdom, and the rest of the universe.
~Excerpt From "The Tome of Most Ancient Knowlege and Historys of the World of Kyngdom,"one of my favorite and most prized books. I have updated the language and spelling to be easier on the eyes.

MoonshadowParticipantAs Caelani's body faded and his spirit lifted towards the sky, a flower began to bloom. It's petals spread, bright and golden, but none as golden as the biggest, brightest petal. The flower was small, not like the large flower that the powers came from. But the petal grew ever larger and brighter, until it was too heavy for the flower and fell off. And then it spiraled, up and up, ever closer to the great blue sky, and then dropped, falling fast toward the ground, and then it landed. But as it floated toward earth, a transformation had begun. Gold and silver swirled around as magic enveloped the petal, then the petal landed, but it was no longer a petal. It was a beautiful, ivory flute. The Gryphon's spirit leapt into the flute, and so was born The Power of Wing. When played, it has the power to summon Caelani back to Kyngdom once more. But that is not the end of the story. Although many do not know it, there is more. A young man stepped out of the bushes. His cold blue eyes glowed with evil, and the sunlight reflected off of his dark blonde hair. He was merely a boy, but had taken down the mightiest of beasts. He had coated himself and his spear in Brazen Goo, the only substance known to kill a power. He chuckled to himself, a sickening sound, before grabbing the tiny instrument roughly in his sweaty hands. He turned it over and over, as if inspecting it for flaws. Then he whistled, and out of the brush flew a crow. "Guard this with your life. Don't let it fall into the wrong hands, if you know what I mean." He winked, obviously talking about the Powers.

ClaawsParticipantI've made a few changes to my story, and I'm leaving it as a thousand suns. It's my idea, I did not take it from anybody else so you can't blame me for doing so or anything. Moonshadow's is kind of like mine, but mine is just a tad different. Maybe we could combine them? Tell me what you think Moonshadow!
A long time ago, there was a flaming hot planet, filled with active volcanos. Its rivers were filled with molten hot liquid, and no life could thrive.
Until…
Out of one volcanic explosion, there was a flower born, a magical flower made from fire and light. This flower glowed with the intensity of a thousand suns, and the life of a thousand planets. And as it grew, the world around it started to change. The volcanos quickly vanished, along with its blood-thirsty lava. In its place once burnt, tough soil begain to soften, and other life begain to thrive. Grass and small plants sprouted up around the flower, soon to spread across the world. A small stream of water had also started running from the flower's stem, soon to becom an ocean. But as the plant life thrived, the flower was losing the power and magic it got from the volcanos. In its last dieing breath, six creatures were born. The first to walk on land, sea, and sky. In a flash of light, the petals were gone, and the stem crumbled in defeat. But the world wasn't about to go back into its old state. For a new magic was formed. First out of the petals, a small catlike bird creature was formed, just like a kitten with a beak and small wings of a chick. Griffan, it was soon to be called. He controlled the air and kept it clean and lively. He aslo created the storms, wind, and clouds. Next a small, long creature was uncoiled onto the grass. It had two tiny talons, with dull claws that were soon going to be sharp dagger-like swords. This creature was soon going to be called Serpent. He was soon to control the earth, keeping it a healthy softness for all plants alike to grow. Next a small furry creature was formed, with tiny paws and useless (for now) little bird wings like the Griffans. She was soon to be called Angle Wolf. She would control the hushed peaceful sound of the new land, the sweet smell, the beautiful looks of the world, the soft feel to everything (basicly all the senses), and light and dark. Next a tiny, small furred mammal with tiny hooved feet and a small glowing horn staggered onto the earth. She was soon to be called Unicorn. She would control the growth of the flowers, and all life to come. She would also controll a the world's magic. After her a sleek long creature was born, with a long glistening tail and small talons, with a tiny flipper here and there. He was soon to be called Sea Dragon. He would control the freshness of the water, the pure waterfalls, and the difference between salt and fresh. Lastly, a small dark shape was formed. With tiny wings and obsidian scales that seemed to radiate black fire, and glowing eyes the color of the moon. She was soon to be called Dragon. She would control all fire, including the darkness and greed that powers many animals to do great, bad things.
These animals grew over time, and the environment was slowly made better. Many animals were created to walk the lands of sky, earth, sea, magic, fiery, and sencefull. After awhile, the humans evolved. With the humans, came technology, Medicine, robots, electricity, everything that went against the Powers, as they soon called themselves. They tried telling the humans, but they only cared of their own greed. They blamed this on the fire inside them, on Dragon. She was exiled from the Powers for awhile, but her power still remaind, and the humans still grew stronger. Finally, with no other choice, the Powers went to Dragon asking for her alliance against all humans. With this a war started between Powers and humans. Many were killed. But many survived. The population was growing ever faster. And as the fire grew inside the humans, it grew inside the Powers as well. The Powers came so ambitious for all power that they started killing everything, to all animals, to all plants. Soon the animals sided with the humans, and together, one by one, they killed the Powers. And as each died, their power lived on in an instrument for all creatures to play. But not all of their power could fit into a small instrament. As they were conquored, some of their power was released into the air. But the Power needed a solid source, so they gathered in different types of species. The magic from the Power of Wing gathered in birds of flight, making some birds able to harness wind and storms. The Power of Claw gathered in creatures of earth, giving some creaturs the ability to harness the earth and rocks. The Power of Fin went into swimming creatures, giving some the power to switch salt water to fresh and visaversa. They also got the power to bend water, making it shift into pathways. The Power of Hoof went into all creatures, giving some the power to see in the dark and to shape shift. In rare cases some are able to so magic. The Power of Howl went into all creatures, giving some the power to talk different laungeges and see colors most couldnt. The Power of Tooth alos went into all creatures, giving some the power to mind control and breath fire.
The Powers may have been killed, but they are still alive in a way, the instruments are able to breathe the breath of life into the long dead creatures anytime when played. But as the creatures rest, their power is still strong, especially Dragon's whose power is flaming inside some certain scientists.
And to make sure the Powers never got activated, the king of Kyndom, a human, apointed a guardian. He appointed an animal, one of which the powers could turn into, to guard the power forever. But promises don't last forever, and the creatures in charge, humans, forgot who their alies were. And, killing animals on their way, have managed to find more than one of the powers, and summon the giant beast inside.
As for the other stories, in the middle of the war, the Powers needed spies. Since they were so big and obvious, they wouldn't work as any spy. So combining all their powers, they managed to give each other an animal form. The griffan became a crow, the serpent a badger, the angle wolf a wolf, the unicorn a white steed, the sea dragon a monitor lizard, and the dragon, a Panther as black as night. With these came code names, which you all know the panther is Claaws.
and we still haven't agreed on the names of most, can someone list all of the suggested names for each of the powers?

SecretI don't actually like the idea of corrupt Powers. It's scary. It means everyone is bad. Your story is also confusing. I think it could use some work, and it occured to me while reading this that we're all making origin stories for the universe, kind of like religions. Most everyone has suggested a good, water dragon and a bad tooth/darkness dragon. Gryphons, unicorns and angel wolves are also common themes. They're too general though. Gryphons and angel wolves both have the powers of air/sky and earth. I would suggest some sort of bird that is nothing more than a bird. Not a special thing like a pheonix but just a bird. I realize that they have to land somewhere, meaning the power of earth, and I respect that, but just tone that part down. How about a sparrow? Or some sort of bird no one really cares to know about, and they say it's superspecial because they don't want to believe that something so ordinary is so important. Angel wolves: wonderful imagery, but a bird covers the air/sky part and the angel part of angel wolves really gets confusing. Also, wolves are pack animals. Are you sure there's not more than one? Dragons: I hate that dragons are always the evil things. How about the unicorn(s) is/are evil? They're typically symbols of light and purity. It would be interesting to turn that inside out. Serpent:I have nothing really to say here. Good job on making the serpent not evil. Is there anything I missed? I really like the idea of the unicorn's and dark dragon's roles being switched.

But the 'kings' wish did not come true. And although he killed all the Powers, his 'guardians' failed. For the good animals of the forests, meadows, rivers, and skies came and took the powers, and guarded them themselves. I will be posting each power story soon. I love your story! It's long, fun, and gives enough detail without offering too much. One thing that I think you didn't do very much was mention the roles that humans played in the beginning. It might be useful to show contrast on how the humans began to become jerks.
But otherwise, great story. 10/10, will read again.

KyngdomHey, guys (not trying to be annoying), what about my Power of Evil? It's fine if you don't like it, but I would like to try to contribute. In case you've forgotten, here it is again:
It's a small, smooth, black stone on a chain. It was originally owned by Catastrophe, the evil warlord that started all five of the Catastrophic Wars. When worn around one's neck, it renders the wearer coldhearted, unable to reason clearly and extremely violent. This power controls the actions of the wearer and others that the wearer commands. If you say the words, "Salmso Akkat," while wearing the Power, you will summon Ares, the Song Of War Bird that Catastrophe was very good accquaintences with. However, Catastrophe died in The Battle Of Devil's Back just after his youngest son was born, and the Power was buried in a rockfall with its owner. The day before The Battle Of Devil's Back, though, Catastrophe's head magician made a prophecy that the Power, someday, would find Catastrophe's true heir and wreak havoc again…
PS: I almost forgot: The guardian of this power is Rogud, a giant Scuttler, which is basically a half-spider, half-crab. I will try to post pics of Catastrophe and Rogud soon.

SecretThe evil thing is almost always black and very often a stone. I'm going to tell a weird but true story now:
Once I was moving a bulletin board with a poster on it having to do with butterflies. I turned my head while moving it and for a split second it looked like the poster said 'Attack Butterflies'. Which got me thinking: the really evil stuff is disguised. It's pale and light and beautiful and will betray you.
I think that got away from the point, which is that you might want to make the Power of Evil something different. Keep the chain, though. There should be some piece to subtly reinforce the evilness.

KyngdomI am starting a 2-part story on how the Power Of Evil fits into Moonshaddow's story. Anyway, here's the first part. Tell me if you like it!
Catastrophe~ All this long time I've been waiting. Waiting for my armies to gain enough strength to kill the Dragon. It's been two months since I killed off Caelani. Two months too long.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
one week later…
My sentry looks down at the sinkhole where the Dragon lives. "Not many footholds down the cliff… Master, do you really want to do this?"
I grip the table so hard that I leave dents in it. "SIX YEARS I'VE WANTED TO DO THIS, AND YOU'RE SAYING THAT THE CLIFF IS TOO STEEP? I DON'T CARE IF ALL MY GENERALS DIE DOING THIS, AND YOU TOO!"
"M-Master, I d-didn't mean-"
"COR, EVEN THE WORLD COMING TO AN END CAN'T STOP ME!"
The sentry flinches. "Y-Yes, s-sir…"
Just then, my best general, Rolak Lezacious (pronounced le-zash-us) strides into the tent. "My master, we are ready to attack the Dragon…"
"Good," I reply.
I stand in front of my entire army. I stare at the cliff. I'm doing it. I'm destroying the Dragon, no ruddy footholds or not.
Part 2 is coming soon… Also, Moonshaddow, do you mind if Catastrophe is the boy?
~Ronan
-
MoonshadowParticipantWow! Someone actually liked my story enough to add to it! I don't mind a bit if Catastrophe is the boy!
-
Ronan IParticipant??
KyngdomOkay, here's Part 2!
Catastrophe~ I stared into the sinkhole as my army surrounds it. 500 men, 20 cannons, 100 cannonballs, and one person-me-about to destroy the final Power once and for all. The word formed on my lips. I took a breath. 1, 2, 3-
"CHARGE!" I screamed. The first round of cannons went off, shattering rocks in the bottom of the hole and sending dust up into the air. After a minute, the dust cleared-and there was a figure in the middle of it. "Who are you?" I inquired.
"My name is Claaws," the figure said.
I should've known, I thought to myself.
"What are you here for?" Claaws asked warily.
"I'm here to kill," I replied, an evil smirk crossing my face.
"Ha. Yourself, most likely?" Claaws retorted dryly. I could tell she'd been hardened-probably by her exile-and she wasn't going to be easy to bring down.
"No. You."
"Oh, really?"
"Yes. ATTACK!"
Claaws instantly leaped into the air as a volley of spears soared towards her. She then quickly dived and destroyed a cannon, sending shards of metal and wood everywhere. No matter, I thought. I still have 19 more. But as my army kept fighting, most of the other 19 were taken out, not to mention 300 of my army's men. I was furious. I knew I couldn't die; not here. In a wild attempt to stop Claaws, I got my spear-the very one that killed Caelani and all the others-and covered it in Brazen Goo. I chucked it at Claaws-and it hit her.
I wish. It actually skimmed her flesh and made a scale fall off. It fell, but it seemed to be falling at a faster and faster rate. Suddenly, it hit me in the face. Hard. That was when I noticed that it had turned into a small, smooth, black stone. I put it on. I felt a surge of energy. Then…
"Master, she's dead, she's dead!"
I looked up. Claaws was falling. I had done it. I had killed all the Powers. Or so I thought…
ClaawsParticipantYa, I like mine better too. Because the Powers are agaisnt humans for taking their Kyndom, and mad at the animals for siding with them. The Powers were also created long before humans and animals. So now all of the Power are out for revenge…and that's Claaws' whole story in (shall we start) and why she and the Griffin went to free the Serpent, which is now free.But I guess it doesn't matter because ours are prrtty close to each other, and we are all going to vote on our favorits in the end. Is everyone writing a story for all of the powers now? And we should all vote on the names we want for the Griffin, Serpent, and Sea Dragon.Okay, so this is the story of Claaws's exile.Dragon paced around a small sapling. Her wings were half folded and she shifted them as she trotted slowly around. Her glimmering white eyes glinted in anger as she thought of her siblings. Traders. It wasn't her fault she was given this power. The Power of Tooth, they called it. The power that gave humans the nerve to ignore us. The one that was the strongest. One like the strength of a battle scared tooth. One that will rip Kyndom to shreds. Now they were talking, in their private little cave around the magical flower's grave. And Dragon wasn't invited. In fact, she was told to stay. Now, as she watched, a shimmering mist enclosed the space, and a beautiful white mare stepped from the midsts. Her long white horn sticking up from her forehead glowed a shimmering light like the mist itself. The mist followed her everywhere, like water followed Sea dragon, and dirt followed Serpent, and sound and beautiful colors and scents followed Angle Wolf, and the wind that followed Griffin, and the deeply powerful silent fire that followed Dragon wherever she went, often crumpling forests with greed as the flowers shoved aside others for more room and space. They all knew that something in the mist fixed this greed, or more likely made flowers grow back to their normal size and forget about who's to be bigger, giving them more of the good strength, agreement. Dragon was not affected by this greed, for it wasn't around her, it was within her, making it so it couldn't suffocate her with its fumes. She often wished she had the Power of Hoof, a strong shoulder to lean on, the light in the smoke. The hope despite the darkness surrounding it. To see all the plants perish because of her, it's not a good feeling. And the powers also hate her for it. But it's not her fault, and they know, just worn acknowledge it. They just need something to blame for all their problems, and that anchor was her. "Dragon," Unicorn began. "We have all agreed that you should be exiled. You are not part of the Powers any longer, if you ever were." "Powers?" Dragon asked in dismay. "Yes. We are the powers now. The light in the smoke." Dragon avoided her pure white eyes. "The moon in the night. Your greed won't consume the world, Power of Darkness. For I, the Power of Light, will stand in your way."Dragon watched with horror as her siblings all formed a line next to Unicorn. "We've all agreed that your power is to be changed to the Power of Darkness, and mine to the Power of Light. Light always shines through the darkness, Dragon. Remember that when you try to beat all six of us."All of their pulpiness eyes were fixed on Dragon, and she simply left before her greed could say another word.Dragon slept in her greed, in a dark cave far away from the flower's grave, where the Powers home was. Yet she wasn't sleeping. She couldn't sleep. All she could feel was her own greed clouding around and inside of her as she lay in the same spot over decades. As she felt the greed in herself, she felt it in others too. The humans were getting stronger, and the Powers were getting weaker without her. One day, she felt a fire inside her that wasn't there before. She felt it deep in her eyes, and knew her eyes were no longer white like the moon, but red like the blood of her victims. And then she felt the need for revenge. Revenge on the Powers, revenge on the humans who caused them to banish her. But no revenge on herself. On her greed.She tarred through the forest, ripping trees away in her wake as her giant wings sliced through the air. She didn't care how many animals she scared, or killed. All she cared about was her revenge.She arrived at their cave. Her talons smoothly landed on the grassy, flower-filled, sweet-smelling earth. Her eyes glinted as she spotted her victims. But to her surprise, Unicorn stepped forward with not an angry snarl, but sorrowful regret. "Dragon," she spoke with her violet eyes shinning. "We need your fire more than ever, to power our Powers to kill all humans. With your greed they will kill everything, all land, all skies, everything we've dedicated our lives to, but with some of our own greed, we can overpower them," she bowed her head, and the others did the same, with no hint of regret. "You are no longer the Power of Darkness. I'm no longer the Power of Light. You are one of us again."Dragon accepted their bows with her head held high. "I accept," she growled. "But with one condition. I will stay the Power of Darkness.""As you wish. Whatever it takes to make us the most powerful in all of Kyndom."-
Ronan IParticipantI personally think Moonshaddow's and Claaws's stories should be combined because I like the story of Claaws's exile and Moonshaddow's evil boy.
SecretI like the idea of Dragon being upset that the others don't like her and that it's not her fault she got the Power of Fang. I also like the idea of a corrupt purity: Unicorn. I don't like the idea that the Powers are going after being strongest. I thought this was about the animals vs. BIG and that the Powers were something like tools or allies. Allies of the animals are at least supposedly pure. Tools are unbiased. I would like the Powers to be unbiased. They can still bring the element thing-water, earth, fire, air, light and dark. Just light and dark being changed to something else. Motion and stillness? Tell me what you think.
MarylandHere's the power of Tail. It allows you to release a strange creature which can climb like a monkey and will follow commands without question. However,it can be sidetracked from its goal when exposed to a certain smell. This smell is guarded by a huge cheetah on a strange plain. The actual power is guarded by an oppossum in a forest.
ThimbleParticipantThird time's a charm…I'm getting frustrated with this computer. This is the origin of evil; a result of Claaws's exile; used in the story when the Powers emerged from flowers.
THE ORIGIN OF EVIL:
———————–
Darkness swathed the entrance to the dragon's cave. Claaws had been in exile twenty days. Her evil was a burning fire inside her, eating up all other feelings and purpose.
Where the great flower once stood, cloaked in a garden of fog, was a tarry, midnight colored blob. The blob had no form; no visible features; but it grew larger for no apparent reason. This blob was the result of Claaws's evil. This blob was evil.
For Claaws had, with her jealousy, let evil into a once-perfect world, and a once-perfect friendship. As a result, the blob appeared. Evil, never before seen, had entered into the world. But no matter how unsightly this blob seemed, it was as it always should have been.
The misshapen form was meant to be a second chance; a shot at the cleansing of Kyngdom. Just as Claaws had let the abomination called evil into the world, she could rid the world of it. If Claaws could contain her evil and use it for good before the Powers solidified the world, then the blob would disappear and the world would be made good. But if Claaws's anger and hate grew and did not cease before Kyngdom was finished, then evil would wreak havoc on the earth.
Claaws tried to reign her feelings, but failed. Her eyes turned crimson red and her scales black as night. She truly accepted the Power of Darkness. The shapeless form of midnight reached a dangerous size.
If only Claaws could have controled her feelings better. If only the Powers had accepted the exiled Power of Darkness as a true power sooner. None of this would have happened. But we cannot wish for what has already happened; as the Powers traveled over their world looking for imbalances and imperfections, they sensed none, for the blackness was indeed a balance. None of the Powers knew about it, not even Claaws, its maker.
Kyngdom was created, and humans and animals were allowed to enjoy the Powers' creation. The evil blob took on a form; it mirrored its master as a tarry black dragon with red crystal eyes. Its connection with Claaws had been severed and evil took on a mind of its own. It then set about to ruin the world.
The Powers couldn't fight the evil, that sickness that spread like wildfire and consumed the corners of the world. They needed Claaws back. They never knew that they were bringing Claaws to fight her own creation–and they still don't know that evil has a form. They think that it was the humans who invented it, even to this day.
When the Powers died and left their instruments to recall them with, if needed, the dark dragon fell into a deep slumber. Evil wasn't as bad without its mother, but it still multiplied. When the Powers of Darkness, Wing, and Claw were summoned, the dragon inched closer to consciousness. Even now, she grows closer to waking, and when she does, she will not stop at anything to finish what she started.
Blazing StarParticipantThis is Scylla and Kasumi(Admins, Blazing Star is my name so please post it as so. Not Blazing S.)
I'm the guardian of the Power of Hoof. The herd I come from believes in the legend posted on the first page by Scylla.
