Actually, I don't think I ever helped a Gryphon. I honestly don't remember much, now all of this excitement and adventure is going on.

I was away from home again when I saw it. A huge… something in an even larger cave. It shifted, and I realized it was a gryphon. Or, probably a gryphon. I had never seen a real one, only pictures, but it didn't look like it could be anything else. I wondered what it was doing in a cage. Still hidden, I crouched down and watched it silently for a few minutes. I remembered the Cypher in my backpack. I remembered my sketchbook. I started to slip the pack off…

Footsteps. Someone was coming, more than one person. I didn't wait to see who. I pulled my backpack on again and moved swiftly away. I heard a voice behind me, but didn't look back. I would come again.
