ScyllaParticipantI play cello and piano. I'm really sad I moved though because my friend just emailed me that I got an award for orchestra. The director chose me as musician of the year!!!!!! I was so excited!!!! My friend told me she would mail me the certificate and medal that was the award but they haven't come yet. So yeah.

GallifrayOh, Scylla! That's great! I've always thought that cello sounded really, really cool. Is it fun to play? Congrats on the award!
-
ScyllaParticipantYes, it's very fun to play! However, I feel a lot more at ease playing piano. And thank you!

everywhereIt's kind of funny – although my parents, aunt and uncles are all professional musicians, and my grandmother runs a whole music school, AND my little brother is being taught violin (that's what literally all of them play) – I have NO music talent in me! They tried to get me started when I was 3 (my relatives, excluding my brother, were all taught from that early an age – it's a specific method) and instead of even looking slightly interested, I threw a fit. And did every time they tried again afterwards. I was such a great kid 😀
I know this is slightly off-topic, but anyone else have a musical family?

NatalieParticipant?
USAI play violin.
So many people play multiple instruments, not only on CB. I learned recorder for school, but I forgot.

Definitely not! When my dad joined band he didn't even get to pick out an instrument before they told him he should try Home Ec. XD My mom tried playing the flute, but that didn't work out. My sister had been taking piano for a year but quit about three months ago, so… I'm the only musical one in my family 🙂

Rivendell (I wish) ;)I have the piano as my instrument. I guess I might possibly know a smidge about the violin because I took a very brief class on that particular strings-member a few years ago– but not likely– and I have an ardent wish to learn the Ways of the Flute, but have not yet succeeded. Congratulations on your musical talents, everyone! They will continue to enhance and enrich your lives for as long as you live! 🙂

Darth KittyParticipantI play violin! I have been playing for 4 years (almost 5)! Nice to meet all of you other musical people!
