DanieParticipantThis reminds me of a book I read…
Name: Pepper
Gender: Male
Age: 14
Personality: Silent, VERY curious, acts a bit strange when you first meet her–actually, she acts rather strange all the time. Intelligent, sensitive, but still Silent. VERY silent.
Appearance: Blond hair tied in a messy bun, large dark blue eyes. A little below average in height.
Current Occupation: Runs a flower shop with her familiy.
Reasons Why They Didn't Attend School: She refused. Her mother thought it was just some sort of phase, but in reality Pepper was starting to realize that the government was not all its cracked up to be…
Strengths: Intelligence, Common Sense, the ability to concentrate on anything she wants even in the noisest of environments.
Weaknesses: Sensitive, Not very good at making friends, a pretty bad fighter, and mainly keeps her intelligence and ideas to herself.
Anything Else: She is street smart and has good common sense. Not really good at one thing, but has a knowledge about in little thing.

Clouded LeopardParticipantYeah, City of Ember, right? That's where I got the idea. Except this place doesn't seem to be underground, and the characters may find much less than a lovely utopia when they leave…

BookwormParticipantDarn! too late!
I'll read this as it goes along, though…

Stormrage/AlexParticipantAlex~
I was dreaming again…
"Alex!"
i turned in the alley- the leader of the pack, Trash, was jogging to me. He wore faded camo, and a camo green beanie to hide his long blond hair. Not that I looked anybody: my faded blue jeans and hoodie where ripped and shedded. Oh well.
"What's up Trash?"
"The sky," he said, smirking "Be careful- don't get yourself killed. The Civils aren't nessasarily friendly towards the Pack.
The Pack.
A group of out casts, hobos, homeless, an theives who lived in the largest alley in this world. The sky was a hazy purple above me, the sun was setting.
"No promises."
I ran down the street to the pizza shop, and I slowly slipped in the back door. Several pizza sat in their boxes ready for pick up. I grabbed the top three boxes and opened the door to exit."Don't go anywhere." A voice hissed behind me. I turned to see the shop owner- a burly man with a gun aimed between my eyes. I could feel my legs shaking and my eyes growing big.
"You where here last week! LUCAS! CALL THE POLICE!"
Crud.
I dropped the pizzas and darted out the door. I ran down the street with the shop owner on my tail.
"Theif!!"
I ran past the alley entrance- shadows of my family I left behind gazing in horror as the shop owner implanted a bullet in my shoulder.
They think I'm dead.
I woke up panting- My black beanie I found on the run Fallon off my head. I pulled it back over my ears and stood. I slept in the lobby of a shelter that night.
Two days since I died.
I exited the shelter and tuned the corner.
I walked headlong into a pair of police men.
"You're the theif!"
I was about to nod, but then a boy barreled into my side.

BrookeiraParticipantMerin~
I dashed down the street, Jaz perched on my shoulder. I had been distracted, looking at pigeons, and it was getting late-
I barrelled into a girl. She yelped and fell. Jaz meowed mechanically, upset.
"Oh, dear Excelsior! I'm so sorry, you fell, I'm an idiot, I-"
I trail off. The girl glares at me.
It's then that I notice the police.
I apologize shakily and walk off, hands trembling.
I feel the girl's eyes on my back. It isn't the last time I'll see her.
-
AlexParticipantAfter the boy barreled into my side, the police officer slapped a pair of handcuffs on my wrists. I shook as he dragged me down the street to the station where I was put in a cell until I was shipped to the prison. I was the only one in the room besides the officer who seemed to be noting every time I blinked, breathed, or wimpered.
I could hear voices in the lobby- somebody talking to the officer at the desk. The heavy wood door opened and the boy with the robot cat came in.
"Hey sis-" he winked "ready to come home?"
i nodded
who was this guy?
The officer opened my cell and took off my cuffs. The first thing i did was pull the beanie back over my ears.
The boy led me out after dropping a few gold coins in the officers hand. On the side walk he let go of my hand and I stepped back.
"Who are you? What's your name? What was that for? Why?" I fired questions at him like the officer who put the bullet in my shoulder. It Haden's been removed- it was still in there somewhere. It hurt to move it but I've had worse.
"1.Merrin. 2.Merrin. 3.You needed help 4.you needed help."
"I was managing fine on my own!" I retorted
"no you wernt. Now come on- lets get out of here."
"I'm not coming with you! Creepy stalker!"
"okay. Suit yourself." He began to walk away, but I slowly followed him.

~~
I sigh, looking over Tiaeios from my bedroom window. It's stifling in here the air is thick and humid, and my breathing is shallow. A clattering and crashing suddenly echoes from the irection of the pack, and I see a girl in a black beanie sprint out like the cops are on her trail. Which, um,they are. I watch in fascination as she slams into a boy with a RoboKat on his shoulder as he exits an alleyway, and together hey go sprawling down. The girl struggles, but she's eventualy dragged away by the police. The boy watches, shocked, and his RoboKat winds around his legs.
I long to be out of my stuffy room, but no way can I ever get out without being on duty. Which is now, I think, glancing down at my watch. The blue digits flicker back at me, and I jump up, grab my bag, and dash out of my room. My mother grabs my arm as I make a break for the front door, but I squeeze out from her grasp and burst into the streets. There's no sign of the Pack girl or the boy with the RoboKat. I run all the way to my office, breathing in the outsie air. But, just like always, I can sense something heavier, something deeper in the air.
Like the smell of the earth, surrounding all of us.
