KestrelParticipantKestrel~
Well. The first day of school was definitely interesting. Art is a fun enough group to be in. At least, the people are nice. Colege is still really stressful, though. And now I have to find a partner for the dance. Great. No boy has even talked to me yet, let alone asked me to the dance. I sigh aloud. Sasha, who had been hopping around my room for the first day of school, was now becoming increasingly restless. "Alright, Sasha. I'll go see if I can find someplace to let you fly."
I thought about the layout of the school, wondering where I could go to let Sasha fly. I didn't really feel like going outside… But was there anyplace indoors that had high ceilings? I prctically felt the lightbulb go on above my head- I had thought of the perfect place. I got up from where I had been listening to Hamilton on the floor of my dorm room, and headed for the door. It was after learning hours, so the halls were fairly empty, as everyone was either hanging out with friends, or outside. As I made my way through the school, I started to zone out, which is why I didn't notice the boy I bumped into until… Well, until I crashed into him. For the second time that day, Sasha was startled off of her seat on my shoulder and flew to perch on the rim of a waterfountain instead. "Sorry!" I yelped, looking up. He didn't appear to be in a rush anywhere, which made me feel relieved. That meant he shouldn't be as annoyed with me for hitting him. The boy laughed good-naturedly and said, "It's fine. Aren't your from Art? What are you doing in this section of the school? That door over there is the door to the gym. Not the art studio," he laughed again.
"I-I, was, um, going to fly my falcon, Sasha, in the gym. I'm not much of an outdoors person, unless I'm with my friends, but… Well, I'm rather shy, so I haven't made any friends yet." I stammered, my face heating up.
"Well, alright then. Consider me your friend now. I'll see you around, right?"
I smile, "Sure. I'll come here to fly Sasha everyday, most likely. Unless I decide to go outside."
"Bye," he says.
I wave goodbye and head owards the door he indicated. Then I almost kick myself. I didn't tell him my name! Or ask about his… I turn to call him back, but he's already vansihed. I sigh. Oh, well.
As I enter the gym, with Sashs on my shoulder again, I am startled to see a teacher with astudent over their shoulder. They are shouting at each other.
"No!" the girl shouts.
"What?" he nearly hisses.
"I said no. I will not be going. I am afraid of heights and will not be climbing anymore. At least for today. And that's final, Thomas."
"Sir." Thomas reples sharply.
"There's no need to call me sir, professor." the girl shoots back.
His face turns purple with rage. "Why you little-"
"Um, excuse me?" I call out. "Is it okay if I fly my falcon in here?" I try to catch the girl's eye. I want to talk to her once the teacher leaves.
Thomas looks indecisive. He clearly wants to finish this, but doesn't want me here to witness it.
"I'm sure there is someone here that I can talk to about a teacher treating a student this way, yes? If I were you, I would set the girl down and leave peacefully. Then, I might consider keeping my mouth shut about whatever this is." Sasha screeches softly, as if to back up my words.
Thomas glares at me, and I return his gaze defiantly. No one deserves to be forced to do something they are afraid to do. With a growl, Thomas sets the girl down. He whispers something in her ear, then stalks towards the door. Just before he gets there, I call out, "Oh, and sir? I wouldn't like to have to see with you treating people this way again. Otherwise, I may not be able to control my mouth." I let a mocking note enter my oice as I say 'sir'. Thomas sneers something at me, but I don't hear it as I turn to the girl. Sasha has already lifted off and is circling the large, high gym on some invisible draft.
Please, don't let this thread die, people! Top!

DaisyParticipantAWESOME KESTREL THANK YOU SO MUCH! Sorry for the caps but that was great.
Cleo~
A girl comes into the gym with Thomas and I yelling at each other. She pauses, clearly unaware what she's gotten herself into. I motion violently for her to get out because I would hate for another student for Thomas to pick on. She doesn't notice and goes on, threatening him. As I listen, I slowly start to grin.
Now this is a girl who can stand up for herself. I like her already. She's super cool, too, with her falcon. She finally stops scolding Thomas and he is speechless. Then he lets go of me and whispers, See you around. Next time, you won't be so lucky. And the rockwall isn't going anywhere anytime soon, girl.
He leaves the gym, closing her door with a murderous glance and a SLAM!
The girl walks over to me. "Hi, I'm Kestrel." She says.
"Nice to meet you, Kestrel. Thanks for that. Thomas really hates me ever since our old school together. You don't even want to know what happened. By the way, I'm Cleo. That's an awesome falcon you have there. What's her name?"
Kestrel strokes the bird, then let's her fly loose around the room. I admire the bird's grace and beauty. She says, "This is Sasha. She is my pet."
'Wow." I say, over awed.
"Do you have a partner for the dance, yet?" Kestrel asks me.
I try not to smile and let show how much I'm blushing. "Well, he hasn't asked yet, but we have had a long history together. I'm sure he's intending to ask me. His name is Soren. You?"
Kestrel laughs. "Sounds like your partner, Soren, is a definite yes. I don't have anyone yet, but…" And she fades off into thoughtfulness.
Just then, I get a text. From Soren. It says, Hey. Thomas just came outside and looking really angry. He's particularly looking at me. What did I do?
"Excuse me a minute." I say to kestrel. She nods, and I walk over to the bleachers and text back, it was me. Don't worry, I'm fine, but he sure has it in for me.
What did you do? Are you sure your okay? Where are you? I'm coming over.
In the gym. Yes, I'm okay! Don't worry.
A few few minutes later, he walks in. He comes over to me immadiately. He puts an arm around my waist and after surveying me to satisfy himself that I am fine, leans over and kisses me gently. I giggle, then say, "Ahem. Soren, let me introduce you to kestrel. Kestrel, this is Soren. Soren, Kestrel just walked in here, told Thomas to take his hands off me, and pretty much saved me."
Soren shook her hand fervently. "Can't thank you enough."
Kestrel blushes. "No problem." She slides a glance over to me, and I can read the expression in her eyes: this handsome, strong dude is her boyfriend?!
((Hope I didn't control kestrel too much.))

GaredParticipantOk, a lot of people have joined. A lot. But Kestral and Daisy are the only people who seem to be on. I am going to say this is basically dead.

DaisyParticipantokay, but if kestrel keeps posting, I will too. So don't be mad if I take control of several Charries!
-
KestrelParticipantI'll do my best to keep this going for as long as possible, even if it is only a two person RP. Also, I don't mind getting controlled because that kind of gives me something to base my writing off of. I'll try to post something either later today or tomorrow.

Kestrel~
After Thomas is gone, Cleo, as I just found out her name, exchanged some pleasantries. Then I asked about the dance. ""Do you have a partner for the dance, yet?"
"Well, he hasn't asked yet, but we have had a long history together. I'm sure he's intending to ask me. His name is Soren. You?," as she is saying this, Cleo blushes and smiles slightly, though I can tell she's trying not to.
"Sounds like your partner, Soren, is a definite yes. I don't have anyone yet, but…" I let my voice trail off as I think about the boy from the hallway… I sigh.
Cleo excuses herself for a moment, leaving me to my thoughts. A minute later, Cleo returns to me and we continue with introductory small talk, until someone bursts through the door and practically runs up to us. After looking Cleo up and down, they kiss. Cleo introduces us, then explains what happened when I came into the gym. The boy- Soren- finally turns so that I can fully see his face. My heart skips a beat, then begins racing. I completely miss what Soren says to me as he shakes my hand fervently. I look past Soren at Cleo, and I can tell my face is speaking for me. THIS is your boyfriend??? I begin to feel myself sinking into a pit of despair, but I do my best to hide it. But… Something about Soren seems different than the boy from the hallway. Something about his appearance… And he seems so much more open than that boy I met in the hallway. My heart lifts. Maybe… just maybe there's hope for me after all…
____________________________________________________________________________
Alright, so I have two plotlines in mind. Let me know which one you prefer.
1. Cleo and I become really close friends, but there is a bit of a love triangle happening, as I have a major crush on Soren, but since Cleo is dating him I can't have him.
OR
2. Soren has an identical twin named Cobalt that he never told anyone about, and that twin is the one I met in the hallway.
Let me know what you think! I really want to see this story through to the end. Again, TOP! I beg of you to TOP!

DaisyParticipantSorry, Kestrel, I never saw that post! Well, I shall TOP and post now! Also, I like 1# of your plot lines… Maybe later they can have a fight and then Kestrel can THEN fall for Cobalt? Let me know if that's okay. It just sounded dramatic to me (which is awesome!)
Soren~
I look at Cleo. "Can we talk somewhere?" I ask her. She blushes prettily again
"Sure. Kestrel, do you mind?" She says.
Kestrel looks from Cleo to me. "No, that's fine." She says. She didn't sound very enthusiastic.
But I lost no time in pulling Cleo away. Once we're alone, I pull her closer and look deep into her brown eyes, her soft brown hair falling gently around her beautiful face in waves.
"Cleo… Will you go to the dance with me?" I whisper.
She looks thrilled. "Oh, yes, yes! Yes, Soren.”

KestrelParticipantWith my own...Sorry I haven't posted here in a while…
Kestrel~
After a few seconds of me feeling sorry for myself, and Cleo and Soren being completely oblivious, Cleo excuses herself and Soren. I answer with a nod and slightly sullen "sure". When the two return, Cleo appears to be over the moon. I supress a sigh. Always being the somewhat socially awkward one when it came to relationships, I never really had one that went beyond hugging every once in a while. But I have fantasized. A lot. With a mental shake of my head, I give Cleo a kknowing smile. "So what do you guys plan to wear to the dance? Personally, I think a really dark blue on one of you, and a pale blue on the other would look adorable, if you want to go for a couple's look," I grin, seeing their faces. After that Cleo and I go on to talk about our "dream dance," with Soren good naturedly adding small details every once in a while. Eventually (we had somehow unanimously decided to walk outside as we talked) the sky had gotten to become really dark, and it was nearly curfew. "Well, it was nice meeting you guys…" I break off the conversation, suddenly realizing how late it was. "But I'm really tired, and I've got an early class tomorrow." They both nod in agreement, and we go our separate ways.

In a Boarding SchoolCleo~
Once Soren and I had another hasty kiss, we go back to Kestrel. I feel as if I'm walking on rainbows and sunbeams!
Kestrel comments with a grin, "So what do you guys plan to wear to the dance? Personally, I think a really dark blue on one of you, and a pale blue on the other would look adorable, if you want to go for a couple's look."
I look and Soren, who looks at me. Laughing, I joke, "I call the dark blue!"
Kestrel and I continue talking and walking along the gradually darkening path, Soren goodnaturedly acting as a third wheel.
Finally, Kestrel says, surprised, "Well, it sure has gotten dark! Look, it was nice meeting you, but I'm really tired and I have an early class tomorrow. Good night!"
Soren and I nod, it was getting late. Waiting until Kestrel left, we had our private goodbye. "See you tomorrow, Cleo." He said. I hug him. "Tomorrow, I promise." I walk back to my room, to happy and tired to focus on it.
The next morning.
Soren~
I bang on her door. "Cleo? Wake up, sleepyhead. Class starts in a few minutes! We don't want to be late. Cleo?" Hmm. She wasn't answering. Maybe she left early for class? I swiftly trot to the classroom. No Cleo. A dreadful feeling of fear washed over me. I knew who to talk to.
"Kestrel? Hey, um, I know it's early, but-" I started.
The door opened. She poked her head out. "Yes, what is it? I have class very soon. I've got to get ready."
"Oh, yeah, um. Sorry about that. But, kestrel, I can't find Cleo anywhere!" I say desperately. Maybe I'm overreacting. After all, there are a million places she could have gone this morning. But she's not answering her phone (not that she does, like, ever) and I have a twisted feeling in my gut.
Kestrel's face clearly mirrors what I'm thinking. She shrugged. "Soren, she's probably getting coffee, or planning out her outfit for the dance, or something like that. I wouldn't be worried if I were you. She'll show up, just relax."
Maybe Kestrel was right. I didn't relax, but I'd go to class. After that, I would look for her some more. "Okay, I guess you're right. Thanks, Kestrel."
"My pleasure. See you later today? If she doesn't show up at lunch, I'll help you look for her." Kestrel shut the door.
(Hope I didn't control kestrel too much. Please don't have Cleo be found if/when you post next! I have an idea…)

KestrelParticipantWith my ownKestrel~
The next morning, I'm pulling my books together to go to class when I hear a knock at my dorm room door. I quickly shove the last couple of binders into my bag, and walk over to open the door. My heart skips a beat as I peek out and see Soren standing there. I step back, subtly taking a deep breath in the split second that the door is still between us. "Kestrel? Hey um, I know it's early, but-" he starts.
"Yes, what is it? I have class very soon. I've got to get ready," I hope I don't sound too skittish.
"Oh, yeah, um. Sorry about that. But, Kestrel, I can't find Cleo anywhere!" he says. His words come out in a rush, as if he's geniunely worried.
I shrug, "Soren, she's probably getting coffee, or planning out her outfit for the dance, or something like that. I wouldn't be worried if I were you. She'll show up. Just relax." I smile comfortingly.
"Okay, I guess you're right. Thanks, Kestrel," Soren still seems doubtful, but I guess there's not much I can do about that. "My pleasure," I say, but I'm already thinking of all the possibilities… If that P.E. got to her again… My shoulders tighten with worry. Quickly, I say to Soren, " See you later today? If she doesn't show up at lunch, I'll help you look for her." and shut the door fast. I grab my phone, dialing Cleo's number. Nothing. I panic, temporarily, before I remember Cleo saying that she almost never answers her phone right away. I groan in frustration. I need to get to class now, but I definitely need to find her. For the next hour, I try to pay attention in class, but fail. My mind keeps wandering first to Cleo, then to Soren, and back. Absentmindedly, I go through the motions of class. Do the work (easy, most of this stuff is things tht I knew from my online summer courses), write down the homework (meh, if I forget to do it, I have enough extra credit points that it shouldn't matter too much), and answer questions (but only if asked directly). When the lesson ends, I am the first one out of the room, which never happens. I almost always stay to discuss things with the teacher afterwards. I like befriending teachers, if they're good ones.
After going to my dorm to change into more comfortable clothes (bleh, nice clothes can be sooo uncomfortable sometimes). Then, I grab some money and head outside. After a few minutes of conversation with a firl from my class, I see Soren walking alone towards a tree. I rush over to talk to him, but trip on a tree root and go flying. I collide with Soren's chest, and we both go down, one on top of the other. We both lay there stunned for a second, before I roll off of Soren and we help each other get up. "Sorry!" I yelp. By this point in the day, I'm going out of my mind with worry for my friend. At the same time, he says, "Have you found her?" it appears that he is feeling similarly.
I begin pacing, letting out a loud, long sigh of frustration. "No! I can't find her anywhere! All the places that we normally cross paths, she's not there. What do you think could have happened?"
Soren looks taken aback by my suddenly caring so much. Defensively I say, "Yes, I know erlier today I acted like it wasn't a big deal, but I keep thinking about how I met Cleo in the first place- remember, Thomas (I think that as the guy's name- I don't remember, Sorry if it's wrong, Daisy) was harasssing her? Well, now I'm freaking out because what if he's go-" I break off as Soren grabs my hand. "Kestrel, don't worry. We'll find her. Even if Thomas has got Cleo, he can't hurt her…" He trails off uncertainly. I look at our hands, still joined, but don't pull away. I need this comfort of knowing someone's going through similar emotions.
"But… What if she's not okay? Soren, Cleo's been a better friend to me in these past few days of me knowing her than any of my lifelong friends back home ever were. I can't afford to lose this friendship. And you, too, have been so nice to me, though you have absolutely no reason to trust me," my voice sounds strangled as I hold back a sob, "Why does everything good that ever happens to me never stay?" I think about the one person who I ever felt something for, before Soren, and how that ended up hurting me…
For a long moment, Soren is silent, his eyes conflicted. Then, he reaches over and gives me a brief hug, and I lean into the comfort of it. "We'll find her," he says. Though I'm not sure who he's trying to reassure more- me or himself
