Little ReaderParticipantOkay, how's this:Celia~Larkin and I stroll through the woods, admiring the the beauty of the fall leaves. "Do you mind if we sit down so I can sketch that?". Larkin asks as we come to a particularly pretty spot. " Go ahead, I'm tired," I answer sitting down on a large rock.A few minutes later, Mark Fledge walked into the clearing. "Oh, hi," he said, looking flustered. "Hi, where's Ellie?". I asked. " She-" Mark said, then looked around worriedly, "We have to go, now!". He grabbed my arm and then Larkin's, ignoring our shouts of: " What are you doing?!" " My sketchbook!". "C'mon, we have to get to safety!" "What are you-" I broke off as the ground shook a little, then more. Larkin's eyes widened. We ran faster. "In here!" Mark yelled, pulling us into a small solid cave. The ground was shaking even more now, and trees and rocks were falling outside the cave. "What's going on?". I yell. Then, a scream. And another. " Larkin starts out of the cave. "No! You can't go out there!". Mark yells. Another lurch throws us back, and the earthquake gets worse. I black out for a second, and then the earthquake slowly lessens. Finally, it stops and we all just sit there. " What just happened?"What do you think, Rose Bud? -

Rose budParticipantMark~
Walking and looking for Terrance or John, I circle back the way that I came earlier when ditching Ellie. I begin to whistle as I come up upon Celia and Larkin, and then…a flash of pain explodes in my head and a strange intstinct to get to shelter comes over me. Danger. My feet suddenly grow wings (not litterally peeps; its just a figure of speech) and I run towards the girls. That's the way this freak power works; I get a splitting headache, a sudden surge of energy, and the instinct to get everyone around me to safety. Celia and Larkin protest as I demand that they get to shelter. No time! No time! I think frantically. The ground begins to pulse beneath my feet as my danger sense directs me towards a cave.
"I'm in here!" I call back. Celia quickly scrambles into the rocky nook with Larkin, sketchbook in hand, following closely behind. The ground shakes harder. Rocks tumble from higher cliffs and over the cave's entrance. I'm thrown to the ground in the shaking tumult, and for a few seconds I can't distinguish which way is up and and which way is down. After a few endless minutes, the shaking begins to subside. I lay on the ground, panting.
"You all right?" Larkin asks her shaken partener.
"Fine, you?" Celia directs the question at me. I'm about to answer "yeah," but an awful, blinding headache springs up from nowhere. My lungs feel pressed by an unseen force and I can't breathe. I think I scream or Celia screams or someone else does, but I can't tell. I want to run; to shake off the pain; but I can't move. I feel the tight, pressing tension drop as the danger to whomever is no longer so pressing, but my head still pounds horribly.
"What's wrong? Are you hurt?" Celia asks. Blinking several times before I can focus on her face, I push her hand away. Already the headache is fading.
"No, but someone else is," I answer, "probably several people."
"How can you tell?" Larkin questions incredulously. Stonily silent, I refuse to answer her. I'm a freak. A freak. A freak. Morover; a freak who doesn't even have my powers under control.

Rose budParticipantAnd here's Ellie!! Sorry, I tried not to control Voidling too much, but its kind of hard when you're having a conversation with him.
Ellie~
"No. No. I don't know what you're—"
"Ah, but you do," replies the THING inside my head, "I can sense it."
"That's ridiculous! No one can be immortal," I reply.
"And is it ridiculous that you can communicate with animals?" The voice questions earily.
"I'm just good with them, that's not—" I begin. Although I am terrified out of my mind (literally), I still manage to put up a fight. Even when this otherworldly being seems to know all of my deepest secrets.
"I can sense that you have been around an immortal being, although you do not know who," my own voice, and yet not my voice, tells me, "you are no use to me—" my heart leaps. Perhaps it will let me go! "—now, but you have proven my suspicious. There is a scent of immortality about you; from one of your little friends perhaps. You will tell no one this, understand?" A flash of painful scenes, most of them concerning people forced to jump off cliffs by their own controlled minds jumps across my head, "although you won't need to worry about that," the being finishes ominously in my own voice. Suddenly, it feels as if something inside me has snapped. I just have time to scream before the world fades away and everything goes black.

Rose budParticipantWe were talking about Earthquakes in my Earth Science class, and I mentioned that I was in a RP story and that there was currently an earthquake. I said that we were in a cave for shelter, and that some of us had a split second warning (Mark's powers). My teacher asked everyone whether they thought a cave would be a good place, and we reasoned that no, it wasn't a good place during an earthquake. 🙂

Rose budParticipantTop! This was fun!!

Queen ElizabethParticipantLarkin~
"Do you mind if we stop here?" I ask Celia a little bit later," I want to sketch a tree." She looks at me odd for a split-second, then says cheerily,
"That's fine, I'm tired." She perches on a boulder, and stares into space for a while, while I sketch a cool, gnarly-looking tree. I had half-finished the leafy top when Mark Fledge breaks through the hedge of trees around us, without his partner, Ellie. Figures.
"Have you guys seen Ellie?" he asks slightly anxiously. So he was looking for her. Had he lost her? How do you lose a seventh-grade girl with bright blond hair? I was baffled, but before I or Celia could confront him (Celia looked like she wanted to give him a piece of her mind), the ground trembled ever so slightly. My ink pen fell to the ground, and as I scrambled to pick it up, Mark grabbed me by the arm and dragged me towards a cliff, saying,
"Come on! There's a cave over here!" and then, almost yelling he said,"Run!" The ground shook violently; I thought the ground might split open from the shockwaves rushing through it. I snatched my precious sketchbook, and dashed after him.
Gtg, to be continued!

Little ReaderParticipantSorry, I tried to post, but the device I was typing on deleted my entire post. I'll try posting tonight. -
Rose budParticipant(Earthquake and Earth Science discussion continued…) Then again, Mark is not one to pay attention in science class, so he wouldn't know that a cave would be dangerous during an earthquake 😛

KestrelParticipantSasha~
I sigh, following behind my partner, ______(sorry I forgot who it's supposed to be). I wished I had gotten a partner that was actually enthusiastic about the trip. Like, maybe that girl that the Mark guy got to partner up with. Well, there's not much I could do now. I hoisted my hiking pack higher up on my back and speed up my steps.
An hour of occasional akward small talks later, _____ decides to call a break. The spot that we stop at is nice, with a little stream burbling past and beautiful lush green foliage, and the ground was dappled with such wonderful paterns of light. I pull out my camera quickly and snap a few photos while my partner wanders off to do his own thing. Looking around to make sure he's gone completely, I take my backpack off and nimbly jump from stone to stone until I'm standing more or less in the middle of the stream. I look at my bag and shoes strewn over the bank and feel annoyed at myself. It would have made such a nice, artsy picture! This time, I just walk straight through the stream, the cool water slipping over my toes. It feels so refreshing. Until it begins to vibrate. I take one more step onto the bank, and the ground begins to shake. Hard. Panicking, I grab my shoes and backpack and take off at a run through the forest, searching frantically for shelter. I see someone's foot disappear into a cave and, completely forgetting about what we've learned in Earth Science, dive in after them. In the quiet dark of the cave, I sit for a moment, breathing hard, eyes closed, head tilted back. When I open them, the other people in here are staring at me. All the while, the ground is shaking harder and harder. "Umm… Are you guys sure this place is safe?" I say hesitantly.
"It's the best I could find!" Mark snaps, sounding defensive.
"I'm not judging you for it!" I say, my voice rising, "Let's just go in deeper. It'll probably give us a more stable structure to hide beneath."
After a second's deliberation, murmurs of ascent come from the others in the cave. I lead the way as we crawl further and further downwards. Suddenly, I feel a baby's breath of a breeze on my face. I pause, confused. The cave has been on a steady downslope the whole time. How could there be any air? Shaking my head, thinking I imagined it, I continue onwards. Suddenly, I go around a bend, and there is light. Now I'm really getting confused, but I keep walking. A few minutes later, we emerge into a forest…
But it's not the one we just came from. Not even close.
_______________
Sorry I haven't posted at all yet. Hopefully, this will make up for it a little bit!! 🙂
