Part 1.

The firelight danced across the stone walls of the long, dark, tunnel. The light came from two torches in the hand of a strange, tall lady.  She was wearing a long white dress that fell past her feet.  Her hair was down, and around her feet prowled a polecat.  A strange glow seemed to come from her as she led five rather nervous girls down the tunnel.

Mirax felt like she was in a dream.  Was she actually following this strange person down a dark tunnel with four girls she had never met in her life?  Only a half an hour ago, she had been sitting on a bus with her older sister, bored out of her wits.

Well, she certainly wasn't bored now.

The bus had come to a sudden halt, and Mirax had realized everyone except the four other girls and herself had fallen into a kind of daze.  Just then, the strange lady had stepped aboard the bus, and told them to follow her.  They had followed.  Though why, Mirax wasn't sure.

She pulled herself out of these thoughts, when she saw the frightened face of the younger girl.  She had a long ponytail of cinnamon colored hair, blue eyes, and looked rather shy.  Right now, she looked close to tears.  Mirax fell into step with her.  "Hi.  I'm Mirax." She said in a low voice.  The girl smiled shyly, encouraged.  "I'm Kitty.".   " Nice to meet you."  She started talking with Kitty, and didn't notice when two of the other girls drifted over, one, with long golden hair and blue eyes, the other, with straight black hair and a quirky grin.

"Hi!" Golden Hair said, "I'm Leeli.". Soon all the girls had introduced themselves.  The black haired girl was Storyteller(She quickly explained it was a nickname, after seeing the surprised look on the girls' faces) and the gruff older girl with reddish brown hair and strange white eyes was Claws(Another nickname).

Mirax was so caught up in their conversation that she almost didn't notice that their guide had stopped.  Right in front of two big, magnificently carvedoors.  The girls were silent caught between amazement and curiosity.  Then their guide turned around and began to speak, for the first time since the bus.
