The Milky Waywow… there are a LOT of musicians on the CB! This is amazing!
@St Owl, I think that you should try violin… I might be biased though. 😉
@Pepper Star, I love devils dream! Do you play any other fiddle tunes? And don't give up on the violin, it is an amazing instrument but it can seem boring without the right teacher or method.
@Owlgirl, after reading your post I am pretty sure that you might have perfect pitch. That is when someone is able to keep a note in their head without needing to hear it first. Ask your teacher about it!
Also, I started out in music when I was three and saw a version of peter and the wolf. I knew then that I wanted to play the French horn. It didn't work out that way… my mom was right in guessing that French horns don't come in sizes small enough for three year olds. 😉 so I chose violin instead.

TracerParticipantInstrument: Violina ( a violin/viola cross hybrid with all five strings)
How long have you played: Five Years
What method you use to learn: Essental Elements, but since I cannot read violin music for the five of me I am going to going to get a different brand of book to learn that.
Pieces/Songs you are learning now: Tons of different Irish Music, Christmas Music, Classical, and wedding. It's over 25 peices so I won't list it all.
Anything else you wish to say: I was an actual born Viola player, not shoved soon the instrument like many professionally.
Instrument: Trumpet
How long have you played: Four Years
What method you use to learn: Essental Elements…. ._.
Pieces/Songs you are learning now: "Excepts from The Rite of Spring", "Under the Sea" and something else about a ship and the sea that I can't remember.
Anything else you wish to say: I love brass so much

Rose budParticipantWow guys! This is so cool 🙂
Instrument: Piano!
How long have you played: Oh gracious. I've been playing for forever. Um… at least 5 years.
What method you use to learn: I have a piano teacher and lesson books to learn techniques from, and also fun songs to practice with.
Pieces/Songs you are learning now: I'm learning…ugh…what's it called? A song about the morning that is really fast and by someone with a long, maybe German or something name. I am also playing "Honor to us All" from Mulan. The main section has a lot of tough chords, but the verses have a fun pattern. I also have been learning "Wishing Well" from Snow White, but that stretches out my hands and I play all different chords at the same time so I'm not making a lot of progress on that one. Oh, and Queen Elizabeth and I have been playing Heart and Soul together on any piano available to us because it is so fun.Anything else you wish to say: Cloudy Dweller plays the Ukalele (or however you spell it), and she's been playing Hamilton songs so that we can sing. She's the singer; I have such a small, rather low range that I can't sing a variety of songs. I do fine on the rap though, just not the high wavering notes in Helpless and Satisfied.

EverywhereI think I know what song you're talking about! If I'm not incorrect, it's from Peer Gynt, right? Called "Morning," by Edvard Grieg. I played an abridged version of it a few years ago.

Embers in the AshesParticipantInstrument: clarinet, recorder, and I also sing.
How long you have played: recorder, since the third grade. Clarinet, since fifth.
what method you use to learn: a teacher at school, YouTube, and multiple books.
peices/songs you are learning now: multiple Harry Potter themes and Taylor Swift songs, along with the star spangled banner and other stuff assigned by my teacher.
anything else you wish to say: I have officially mastered the recorder, and now play it only for fun. I play clarinet in my school band, and I sing in the musical. I took, like, two voice lessons, but then my voice teacher took a new job teaching at a local school and she can't teach me any more. I still enjoy singing, though. I am trying to teach myself guitar, but suck at it. I am very good at playing things by ear on the clarinet and recorder, and at is how I got into playing Taylor Swift and the Star Spangeled Banner. Sometimes my classmates think that I've memorized songs I've never seen before. I can have a hard time learning a new instrument, and it was very difficult for me to get over the break.

Savvy44x ParticipantI play a lot of instruments, and most unprofessionally, so yup.
Instrument: Guitar
How long have you played: 2.. 1 and a half… years??…?
What method you use to learn: I take lessons every Tuesday
Pieces/Songs you are learning now: Radioactive by Marina and the Diamonds because sometimes we just take a break and I learn whatever songs I like (as long as they're not too easy) and this is the one I chose!
Anything else you wish to say: Hm.. nope..
Instrument: Ukulele
How long have you played: 5 or 6 months
What method you use to learn: looking up chords on google and figure inn thing about myself. Very professional
Pieces/Songs you are learning now: None, really. I'm more writing my own stuff. But the song I'm working on now doesn't have a name yet. So.
Anything else you wish to say: Again, not really. Guess I'm just boring xD
Instrument: Piano
How long have you played: I played for a year when I was about 6, but I quit, and I started playing again, maybe a month ago?
What method you use to learn: When I was 6 it was lessons, but now it's just looking notes and chords up on Google and sounding things out.
Pieces/Songs you are learning now: Again, I'm writing my own songs. I guess I've been playing a lot of Lowlife by That Poppy, but mostly I'm juts writing.
Anything else you wish to say: Well, I'm not a professional piano player. I Googled nearly everything I know. And I probably do a lot of things "wrong." But that's what happens when you teach yourself an instrument. So if a professional were to see me play, they would probably laugh because of the weird ways I've somehow figured out to do stuff, but it sounds good to me, kind of, and it's fun, so don't judge.
Instrument: Drums
How long have you played: I guess I've always played a little bit..
What method you use to learn: My dad is a drummer in a band, so I've just always kind of drummed occasionally, and he's taught me a few things. Nothing serious.
Pieces/Songs you are learning now: Numerous twenty øne piløts songs, or whatever I feel like playing when I'm bored.
Anything else you wish to say: This is my worst instrument like I can keep a simple beat, but drums are not my thing.
Instrument: Trumpet
How long have you played: I played for 2 years.
What method you use to learn: I took lessons with school.
Pieces/Songs you are learning now: I no longer play.
Anything else you wish to say: It was either trumpet or guitar and I gave up trumpet. But if younahnded me a trumpet, I would be happy to play it for you!
That's all! (Mostly).

TracerParticipantMe and Savvs did trumpet together in fourth grade 😉

EllesmeraInstrument: Violin!!!
How long have you played: Since 4th grade, and I'm in 6th grade. So, 3 years including this year.
What method you use to learn: I go through my school.
Pieces/Songs you are learning now: Sweet Petite Winter Sweet and Trepak (from the Nutcracker)
Anything else you wish to say: I started with a 1/4 size and now I'm on a full size (I don't know why I'm proud of myself for that). Also, I can play part of Beethoven's 5th Symphony and Viva la Vida!
