Nose in a BookI'm in 7th grade, second year of middle school at a private K-12, though I've only gone there since 6th. There are about 120 kids in my whole grade, maybe 16 or so per class.
I adore my school, honestly— The academics are amazing, the teachers are so inclusive, there are arts classes as part of the required curriculum, and they also have creative writing and social justice and coding as electives.
Hey, I'm curious. How many of you go to private schools? (Which, by the way, doesn't equate you or me to being rich, stuck-up brats like so many people assume.)

EverywhereI'm in seventh grade, the second year of middle school. My school's one of the best in the state– it may be the best public school, but I haven't seen school lists that don't include private and Catholic schools.

CamelotI'm a "freshie/freshman" (aka: 9th grade) and homeschooled.

The RiddlerParticipantI'm in eighth grade at a private school (pre k-8th grade.) I've only been going there since seventh grade, but then again I've never gone to one school for more than two and a half years. I went to public school in fifth and sixth grade, and I must say that the private school stereotype is unfortunately slightly true. I'm not saying this of all private schoolers – I am very different than most people in my school and there are a lot of very normal people who are not snotty and rich at all. But a lot of them have very incorrect pictures in their minds of what public school is like – I loved my public school in fifth and sixth grade.
All of my teachers are amazing. The academics are very good. The difference between this school and some other schools I have been to is that in order to get an A in a subject you have to constantly be contributing to discussions and stepping up as a leader as well as getting good test grades and stuff. In order to make high honours your grade in every single class has to be A- and above, including gym and chorus and art and stuff. Even the most athletic kids get A- in gym, because you have to have a good attitude all the time and have to go as hard as you can for every class. I only know one person who has gotten an A in gym.
So yeah. That's my school. Hooray. I'm really sad to be leaving for high school at the end of the year. I love my school.

BluebirdParticipantI'm in 7th grade, and I go to a tiny tiny Catholic school. (we combine 6th, 7th, and 8th grade- there are only 28 of us in all of jr. high!)

Tuxedo kittenParticipantBag EndI'm in 6th grade. Homeschooled and loving it! Some people think that homeschoolers are "dorky" or like, super humans at school.Well maybe a little of a nerd!ITS NOT LIKE THAT AT ALL! Actually homeschooling is really fun and enjoyable. I get to go to co ops and hang with friends and stuff like that. But the only thing that annoys me is that we(homeschoolers) don't get to have snow days…:-(
-
Nighthawk/EmberParticipantI'm homeschooled as well and I get that a lot as well. People say I'm not sociable because I'm homeschooled. So what if sometimes I like comic books better than people?! I'm more sociable than my friend who goes to public school. Anyway, yea, RIP snow days lol.
-
Tuxedo kittenParticipantBag EndRight!? It's like, yeah sometimes I like books or cross stitching better than people but seriously, I LIKE PEOPLE!
-
Nighthawk/EmberParticipantYASSSS IK!! It's so annoying when people just put ya in a stereotype. My Grammy literally told my parents when I was just starting school that they were going to ruin me by homeschooling me. Like what the heck?! Ok, I'm done ranting, sorry.

ZeusParticipantIdahoI'm in 7th grade at a very good public middle school.
Also, for the record, I really live on the East coast, not Idaho. (The Idaho is part of my name, since I named myself after Zeus from the Michael Vey books.)
-
Nighthawk/EmberParticipantI love the Michael Vey books!! Sorry I get really hyped over shared interests. I have literally talked with a stranger about comics for a whole hour…

ClaawsParticipantFreshi y'all! 9th grade, public high school, Colorado. *dabs*
Wow….I don't know how all you privaters do that! I would die of I only had four other people in my grade! I did go to a private school in 7th and 8th….big mistake. There were like, 10 girls in the whole school and that…..didn't…really go so well. I ended up being home schooled after a big cat fight with one of my former friends.
Well, up in my town the kids with the most money are often the bratty stupid kids. That go to the private school, which by the way, sucks so much that the seniors have been held back two years in a row because no collage would accept them, not even our local collage. It's become a rehab school/ school for mental people. So…..Ya…..I bet all of the private schools ever are better then this one.
Anyway….My school is more athletes over academics, our football team sucks but our rugby team is the best in state! And even more, we're like the best in probably four other states around us also! Our passing grades aren't that high, 1.5 on a 0-4 grading system. So ya….there's more muscle then smarts about my school!

HogsmeadeI'm homeschooled, and I love it. Also, my dad works 4/10s on swing shift, so we just adjust on school schedule so that we get the same weekends as he does. The only thing I don't like, is that I only get to see my friends once a week, because most of them are from church.
