It was a strike. Brooke's entire body was charged with excitement, she seemed to be bouncing like a ball while she held her sign, screaming the slogans. Unfair treatment! Resistance from the workers!

The air seemed to be electric. Her shouts mingled with everyone else's, as they all banded together for one cause. None of these kids should be here. Child labor was an injustice in itself. So why make it more unfair? Their movement was growing, eventually it would reach the president himself.

The newsies had human rights. And they were using them.
