Embers in the AshesParticipantCB Name: Embers in the Ashes
Harry Potter Nerdiness: 9/10
House: Ravenclaw!
Beware: I Have Tons of Spoilers. Only Read on if You've Read All the Books
Okay, I need to rant about something. I don't like Harry Potter, the character. He let Serius die, Cedric die, Dumbledore, Tonks, Lupin… The list goes on. He would have gotten himself killed a hundred times over if it weren't for Hermione Granger there to save his butt, and he's a horrible father in the Cursed Child, parts 1 and 2. I have other reasons, but first I would like to know if anyone agrees with me?
Also, who has had stuff spoiled for them? When I was reading book 1, this kid comes up to me and…
Random Kid: So you like Harry Potter, huh?
Cute 'Lil Innocent 1st Grade Embers: Yes. It's awesome!
Random Kid: So you like Dumbledore?
Cute 'Lil Innocent 1st Grade Embers: Of course!
Random Kid: He dies in Book 6. Snape kills him.
Cute 'Lil Innocent 1st Grade Embers: NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
And I still cried when he died in book 6. Then, my sibling in 1st grade was reading them, and this kid comes up to her and spoils THE SAME THING!
-
IcyParticipantActually, my level of Harry Potter fangirliness is now nine….AND THREE QUARTERS.
Embers, my brother spoiled the exact same thing.
I didn't cry when Dumbledore died–as a little kid, he was too complex for me.
SPOILERS TO LAST BOOK AHEAD
Dobby, Lupin, and Tonks.
I couldn't stop bawling, and, Fred….
I may sound cold-hearted, but Bellatrix DESERVED what she got, and Molly was the PERFECT person to give it to her.

CrookshanksParticipant2nd year
HogsmeadeI'm joining! This looks awesome!
CB name: Crookshanks
Harry Potter nerdiness: 9 3/4! No actually 13!
House: Ravenclaw forever!
@ Lilypad, I'm the exact same way! Luna and Hermione are my favorites!
As far as Snape goes, I think he's good and bad. No one is just purely one or the other. Yes, he was terrible to Harry, but James was terrible to Snape. Also, he kind of had to be, so he didn't blow his disguise. I think what justifies him in my eyes is him killing Dumbledore. Dumbledore was the only one who ever completely trusted Snape, and I think obeying him and killing him would have been the hardest thing in the world.
That's just my opinion.

RaeParticipantCB Name- Rae
HP Geekiness level (I prefer the term geek over nerd. Idk why)- 10!!!
House- SLYTHERIN!!!
I feel that all the hate towards Slytherin is absolutely ridiculous. Just because all the "evil" (it's in quotes because some of them were just misunderstood!) witches and wizards came out of that particular house doesn't mean that every single Slytherin has completely horrid intentions to everyone else. Like Albus and Scorpius! (sorry if you don't like the Cursed Child. I loved it.) Some people were raised in a negative way, and they didn't/don't know how to separate themselves from that. Take Draco, for example. And another thing! Please, please, don't hate on the purebloods. Lucius is, I admit, an insult to thier blood status, but he shouldn't be the person that you think of when someone says pureblood. Here, look at the Weasleys! *gestures to the side where they happen to be standing* *Fred and George look up, and wave* They are one of the kindest families in, yes, I'm telling the truth here, the entire world. Worlds. (Both fictional and real.) Blood status shouldn't need to be taken so severely. Wow. *looks up at all the wonderful words that have just been written* Did I just write all that? Oh, and, bless me, what's this? It looks like it just might be a rant. Sorry about that. Hehe. But honestly, I am hoping you read that. I want you all to know and acknowledge my opinion. You don't have to agree, at all, but I want you to recognize me.
I love all the movies, including, actually especially, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I heard that there are going to be more! Maybe five? YAAAAAAAAAAY!!!
Anyways, gotta go. I love you guys, but you know that.

Embers in the AshesParticipant@Rae: YESSSSSS!!!!!!!! I hate it when I'm explaining the four houses to someone who hasn't read the books, I get to Slytherin, and they say 'oh, I know that one. It's the evil house, right?' I'm actually writing a fanfiction called 'My Dear Ravenclaw,' which centers around the lives of three Ravenclaws, two Hufflepuffs, and one Slytherin during their time at Hogwarts. And guess what… The girl who's in Slytherin is a Muggle-Born! Everyone's in the same year as Harry, and I'm trying to make it as factual as possible. I'm sticking to the books, fact-checking there. I want it to feel as in-cannon as possible, as though you could read my fanfiction and the Harry Potter books together and not see much of a diference. Sorry, I s'pose that I just went on a spiel about my fanfiction. But that makes me want to discuss another category…
FANFIC!!!!!!!!
Who else here writes HP fanfiction?

KittenParticipantI have a friend who said, "All of the bad guys are in Slytherin, but not all the Slytherins are bad guys." That is my favorite quote EVER! Especially because it doesn't just apply to HP.

Mei-xue (May-shreh)ParticipantFairylandI love this idea, Lily!
CB name: Mei-xue
Harry Potter nerdiness (optional) ?/10: Nine and three quarters!
House: Slytherdor!
About the debate thing:
I understand that Snape was mean to Harry and did many bad things. This is just my personal opinion, but I love stories about forgiveness, and I thjnk that since Snape made many sacrifices for the good side, we should forgive what he said. As Grace Lin said, the secret to peace is forgiveness.
-
LilyPadParticipantYour right, Mei! That's true. I like Snape and I dont like Snape, but your right. You sorta changed my mind about him…
Rae, love the rant. I totally agree, 100%.

KittenParticipantName: Kitten
HP Nerdiness Level: Don't know
House: Ravenclaw/Hufflepuff
I have only read the first two books (I keep forgetting to read the third one) due to PARENTS! Ugh!
I already know the major spoiler about Dumbledore dying though.
I so wish the potions test (At the end) was in the first movie! Also they ruined the flying keys scene. And Dumbledore and Hagrid look too creepy.
My favorite character is Hermione. I mean, she's super smart and she helped save the whole wizarding world, so why wouldn't I like her?
Is anyone else doing the Harry Potter RP? I think it's starting really soon so probably too late to join, but it's probably going to be really fun.

Snape is definitely good! In my opinion, the people who do the worst things for a good cause are the best heroes! My whole class is obsessed, like, level 11 obsessed, with HP so we made up a RP. I'm Luna and Tonks! My friend is Hermoine Granger so I call her Hermy crab. I dunno why! Also, did ya know that Hermoine's name is on the table of elements? H.G.! Mercury! What's your Patronus? Mine's a Tonkinese cat! Yipee!
