DanieParticipantSounds fun! I'll be using Eve from Soulscape!… A name which is still in progress. Sorda a play on mindscape and–Nevermind. Eve isn't the main character, but she's pretty important and I haven't really gotten her personality down.
* * *
I raise my hammer into the air, grinning madly at the crowd below me. I stand at the top of a tall and jagged cliff, with a mob of townspeople cheering me on at the bottom. In one hand, I hold the hammer, and in the other the scruff of a defeated monster.
"You will no longer be harassed by these pests!" I shout, posing dramatically. The crowd cheers again.
"Thank you, Eve!" The Mayor walks over to me, with gratitude in his eyes. "We owe our lives to you!"
"It was nothing, dear mayor. I'm just doing my best to help this world!" I proudly intervene.
"You are a hero! And no thanks to your totally less powerful brother, might I add," The mayor brings something out from his jacket. "As thanks, please take this gift."
"You didn't have to, mayor!" I tell him, though in the inside I'm really hoping he's going to convince me to take it.
"No, Please, its the least we can do." He holds out a silky black cloak with blue markings scrawled into it. "Take this Wizardly Cloak. It's a much more powerful and cooler looking than what your brother has."
It is a way cooler cape. "Thank you, mayor. This is a wonderful gift."
"My pleasure. Oh, and by the way," He smiles warmly at me. "Please wake up."
I stutter a bit. "P-pardon?"
"I said… " The mayor smiles at me again. "Wake up. Eve, Wake up. EVIE!"
I jolt forward, hitting my head on the ceiling as I groggily open my eyes. I roll over to see my little brother staring at me, his nose an inch away from my face. I groan and mutter a slight curse as my head starts throbbing from the ceiling.
Where the heck am I? Oh right. Ash Beaches. AKA Dwarf central. That would explain the shorter than short ceiling. I crawl out of the bed and try to remain crouch as I glare at my brother.
Stevie. The perfect child. The one who got all of Mom's wizardly stuff because the hammer had to choose me. Which meant he got my cloak. And my wand. And my boots. Thanks dream for reminding me of how much I hate him.
"You were whispering 'better than him' in your sleep," Stevie informs me. "Were you having another vision? From the hammer? Evie?"
"No. I mean, I had a dream, but I don't think it was from the hammer, it wasn't helpful, I don't think, unless an awesome dream about being awesome is supposed to be helpful and not make me feel–" I stop when I realize I'm rambling to my brother. Ugh. Stupid hammer.
It wasn't from the hammer right? While it's clear the hammer is a complete jerk, he is usually less creative with his douche ways to hurt my feelings. It definitely worked though.
"We have to meet the king in a few minutes, so get ready and hurry up," I look up and see Jacob standing in the door way, frowning as usual. Oh yeah. Forgot about weird detective guy.
"I'll be there in a minute," I snap, shooing the two out of my room. I close the door behind them and sigh loudly.
The bag with my stuff is pitiful. I rummage through it and put on the extra pair of clothing I packed. I go into the homely bathroom and stare into the small mirror. Mirrors. The Dwarves gave us such nice rooms, I almost like them a bit more. Anyways, at least I look slightly presentable. I go back to my bedroom and step into the hallway.
…Then I'm spinning. The room around me darkens and I feel like I'm trying to ride an incredibly angry Manticore. As I feel the urge to throw up it finally stops and I'm in a completely different place.

EverywhereLooks like fun!
Anastasia~
By the time I took my third trip to the forest, there was no chance I was getting lost again. Each looming branch began to look familiar, and Raven's brief lessons helped me recognize the signs of my passing. I even added little markers here and there to make sure I knew I was going the right way.
Still, I was loud. Any animal near me would have been scared off ages ago as my heavy boots crunched autumn leaves.
It was already autumn, I realized. I'd been with Freedom's Wings for a year.
I tried to move more quietly, but by that time it was pointless. I was about to give up and turn back when I saw something up ahead.
"Is that . . . ?"
Light shone from windows of a wooden structure. It was lively, even though it looked slightly ragged from the outside. I walked towards it. Nothing else in the woods was altered in any way – this place had just suddenly appeared. I was slightly wary of it, in case it could be a trap of Ba's, but it didn't seem that way. He wouldn't be able to construct something like that so quietly.
i made my way over to the door and pushed it open.
"Oh my goodness," I whispered. "This place . . . it was made by Others."
____
A bit of background so everyone's not completely lost:
Anastasia lives in a country that makes up most of Southeast Asia. Years ago, it was abandoned by the United Kingdom (made up of the European Islands) after they had conquered it. Surrounded by hostile Soviets and completely helpless, they practically fell backwards in time. It became a mash of all sorts of time periods: electricity exists as an extravagance, many high-class people payed thousands of pounds to get cybernetic attachments, but in other ways the area was almost Medieval. The landscape was completely changed by invasive species from the UK, but the prime crop is still rice. The residents of that country tend to refer to countries that are not them as "The Others," and residents of those countries "Others." People who don't have Asian physique are often referred to as Others as well. However, the residents refer to the country, government, and other such things as Us, or whatever pronoun would be grammatically correct in context. (Also, Others are incredibly technilogically advanced as this takes place in the future.)

Emmilvien~Astor
Grace looks around for a moment, not registering that we're not in the gym. Then she glares at me and yells, "What are you doing!? This is NOT the gym! We are going to be SO late!!"
"Not my fault!" I cry, waving my arms in front of me. "I was imagining the gym!"
Grace punches my chest, sending me flying across the room. "Don't lie to me, Astor!"
"I-I wasn't lying! I promise!" I gasp, ignoring other people in the room. Wait. Other people. I struggle to my feet and teleport in front of Grace. "What are YOU thinking?! There are other people here! Do you want enemies in whatever this place is!?"
"I don't care if I have enemies. Just more practice for soccer." Grace shrugs, then walks away.

WhereverFarren~
As I begin to lose myself in my own thoughts, the girl speaks again. "I'm Mia, by the way." She seems awfully shy. Perhaps we're not that different, really. "I'm Farren. Farren Eversong."~
Sorry if I was too controlling and for the insanely short post! Writer's block is plaguing me today.

SkyMy story isn't on NaNoWriMo, but my character needs more development on how she interacts with other people.
Elenna~
I trudged through the muddy creek bed, muttering. Did it have to rain? So much for my picnic with Logan. It would be less awful if he was here, but of course, being me, I offered to come early and set up. I reached the spot we'd agreed on, and as I expected, it was soggy and gross. Not really the place you want to eat. A leaf tipped above me, and I got a dribble of cold water down my back. I glared up at the offending branch, then had an idea. Wiping off my back (to no effect), I continued a little ways down the stream until I saw my pile of rocks. It was a tiny island, a few boulders in the stream, but on top were the ruins of an old windmill. I used to sit up there for hours and think. I climbed up and perched in my usual spot. The cool breeze made the flyaways sticking out of my french braid dance, and I tucked them behind my ear. Suddenly, the stones under me shifted. I turned to take a look, and the whole thing collapsed, sending me into darkness. The rough stones surrounding me smoothed, and I reached out a hand. I felt a solid piece of wood for a moment, then it gave, and I tumbled out of a closet into a dimly lit room bustling with people.

CaféTeak~ I follow Jaycak, who moves agonizingly slowly. We go past the edge of the lake, circling around to the other side. He points to a long, tall tree. I stare at him. He shifted his shoulders up and down. He told me it meant I don't know. Then, he runs for the tree. I run after him, not stopping to think what a totally weird idea this is. Before I hit the tree, we start to fall, down, down down.
Jake~I open my eyes to see a sunlit café. I have a moment to wonder if the business with that other world was just a weird dream- then I see the racoon girl, Teak, looking down at me. She helps me up. "Are you all right?" I nod, then realize that she just spoke.
"You can speak English?" Teak shifted on her feet. She shook her head no. Still using symbols… I stand up and together we look around the room. At first, it seems pretty normal. Four girls and two boys are hanging out in the cafe. Then I realize one is wearing some kind of medival outfit, a thin, ragged girl,and were those wings on one of the boys? "So many animals like me…" Teak whispers. "Do you know them?"
"I don't know every single human in the world." I answer. "And I've never seen any of these people in my life."

MJ's FRIENDParticipant12
Californa~~~MJ~~~
MJ landed on cool ground. She fell over onto her back with an Oaf. Mj laid on the floor confused. Were was she? What had happened?
Mj got up, confused. She appeared to be in a resturant. People were everywhere, wearing the same confused expression.
MJ studied the people. There were normal people, but there was an elf………..
An elf, but elf's didn't exist…
"What is going on here!" Mj said, confused

unsuspectingstrytllrParticipant~Mia
Mia pulled every bit of strength together to keep from hiding in the corner. Darren, the elf, seemed pretty nice. Her feathery white wings sparkled with a touch of dew. It looked like something you would see in a story, or… maybe even the Realms. She’d have to ask Wayne about it if they ever got back. Or, no, she would definetly have Gabby ask for her instead. Wayne was scary. Farren considered her carefully, analyzing her… greatest weakness? Humiliating shyness? No, no, she seemed too nice to even think of those things. Mia opened her mouth to voice a question, stopped, then decided to get on with it. “Are you from the Realms?” She hesitated, then continued. “I have a friend who lives in Ren.”
Farren’s brow wrinkled. “The Realms, no, I’m from…”
—————
I’ll leave you to finish.
ok, so basically the Realms are an alternative dimension to the real world, which we live in. Mia has traveled there before with two classmates, and met Wayne, a thief. Also having writer’s block, so…

Tuxedo KittenParticipantConnor Sandors~
Connor quietly slipped out of his brothers old cottage. Thirteen-year-old Elieen had been snoring all night, and sleeping on the hard wood floor wasnt to comfortable to sleep on. The cool night breeze felt refreshing on his face. This past week had been hard on him, but even more brutal on Eillen. First Eileen's mother had died mysteriously, then her father, Connor's twin brother, died on the Bunker Hill battlefield.
Connor sighed deeply. He waked to the creek that Philip, his brother, and him had played when they were young. Every day after they had finished thier work, Philip and him had gone down to the creek, playing army, bandits, or knights. Connor would always force his brother to be the bad guy so he could be the hero. He remembered how Philip would begudginly say yes but have fun anyway. Philip had always been Father's favorite. Connor smiled as he recalled the bittersweet memories.
The icy snow crunched under his boots as he walked back to the cottage. He pushed the wooden door open then everything went black.
~~~
I decided to use Connor from a short story for my writing class I wrote. Its placed in 1775, when the Rev. War was going on. Eileen was the MC in my story, so I thiought Id try to write with Connor.
HereBy the way, here's what my charries look like when they fall into the Cafe;
Teak: African American, with dark skin and darker brown hair in a never-been-combed Afro. Honey brown eyes with flecks of gold. Tall. Well muscled. Girl, though that isn't obvious. Bits of leaf in her hair to look like ears and a leaf tail. Wearing a pair of roughly sewn shorts and a tie-dye T-shirt.
Jake: Peach skin and brown hair; short, but you get the impression he needs a haircut. Hazel eyes. Black framed glasses. Looks moderately athletic. Wearing a pair of jeans and a gray-blue jacket. Boy.
Can you guys do that too, so I can post like my charries are seeing you properly? Alright, starting…
Teak~ So many humans… Before yesterday, I've never even seen one, and now there must've been at least seven here, not counting Jayke. Or me. Teak pushed aside that thought and looked at everyone more closely. There was a boy- or was it a girl- with small wings, like a bird. Jayke was looking suprised- maybe people didn't normally have wings? There was also a slightly ragged girl with black eyes, like Caw. Another girl seemed a little different, too- Teak couldn't tell what. Another girl dressed kind of like Jayke was over talking to the kid with wings, and the last was standing shocked in the middle of the room. Suddenly, the door flew open and another kid stumbled in. Well, I suppose now would be a good time to practice my English, if I can speak it.
I made my way over to the boy. "Hello?" I asked. He looked up at me, startled. He blinked fast.
"Wha- who- where are we?" I curled up my tail and angled my ears, saying I don't know. He looked confused. Oops. I fix my mistake and shrug instead. He got to his feet and looked around.
"I'm Teak." I told him. "That boy over there is Jake. What's your name? Are you a human?"
"Um, yes," he said. "How did you get here? I just walked through my cottage door, but I'm pretty sure I didn't see you there. Do you have a cottage?" I shook my head.
"What's a cottage? I just went through a 'interdimensional portal' according to Jake." I smile.
