Where The Wild Things AreUh, so apparently my mom and brothers and I are going to my grandma's tomorrow, so I guess I'll post what I have and see how much time I have tomorrow!
Part I (Warning, Excessive Sass)
Exhausted, Jackson plopped down onto the couch, nearly crushing his twin sister Catherine.
"Ow," she complained, scooting over to make adaquate room for him.
"Sorry," Jackson muttered, but proceeded to stretch his legs over his sister's lap anyway. His gold eyes drooped, and he started to snore overdramatically as Callum, Veronica, and Delia entered the room.
"C'mon sleepy," Delia cried, poking at Jackson's head. "We're waiting!"
"Nope," he said, rolling over to hide his face. "Sleeping now. Magicy fun later."
"Jacksooooon," Veronica moaned. "You know this is the best time! Come on!"
"I'm unconscious right now, please come back later."
Callum smirked, guesturing for everybody to stand back. Veronica and Delia did so, and Cat pushed herself back further into the couch. Callum stretched out his hands, flicking his wrists and fingers in unison. A deep golden light touched his irises, and then Jackson began to lift off the couch.
Slowly, making sure not to knock Jackson into anything, Callum levitated him completely away from the couch before lowering him to three feet off the ground. The air circulating under Jackson's prone body mimicked the texture of the couch, which left Jackson blissfully anaware of his situation.
Cat stood silently, a wicked grin spreading over her face. "Jackson," she whispered. "Are you asleep?"
"Well I was," he said, sitting up and crossing his arms. "But-"
Call dropped him.
Hitting the floor with a thud, Jackson's hands shot out, sending tiny bursts of flame at his sister and friends. Delia yelped and ducked, while Veronica flung out her fingers, hitting the tiny fire with a blob of water. Cal whisked his fire away with another gust of air, and Cat simply grabbed hers, dousing it with a burst of frost.
"Now we're all awake," Delia said. "Let's get going. The others are waiting on the roof."

unsuspectingstrytllrParticipantHahaha, I am totally not laughing at Jaden’s expense. Dude, is it just me or did she capture your personality almost exactly? xD
-
DanieParticipantAlready interested! Neato! Can't wait for more 😀
-
Jaden S.ParticipantEscaping AudorusWhoa, I have fire?! Awesome! Now I don’t even mind being the “clumsy oaf”(as Watchgirl puts it) who just made a fool of himself.

The Librarywow…that is an awesome version of me.

-
VyoletteParticipantOoooh! So I/Veronica am/is the one who controls water! Cool! I like it!

BrookeiraParticipantExcellent! Hope to see Keiran soon! (Also, Keiran is totally shippable and also could make great magical villain material!)

Where The Wild Things AreTrust me guys, I've got big plans for all of you.
Part II (Warning, Cliffhanger and reeeeally long descriptions)
Ursa watched as the others straggled onto the roof. Each of them had their own perfered outfit for magic, and each was wildly different.
Erin's dark hair was pulled up, and her kelidascope eyes matched her grey, blue, and green streaked hoodie. Only her black jeans and shoes hinted at her branch of magic. Her twin on the other hand, was very much the opposite.
Delia left her hair down, her plain white shirt streaked with dried clay and paint. Her black leggings were just as decorated, and her green rimmed glasses matched the streak in her white blonde hair exactly.
Veronica came out the door from the dorms next, a broad grin on her face. She had the sleeves of her teal button up shirt rolled up, and had left it unbottoned, revealing the grey tee underneath. Her feet were bare, as she often left them for magic, and her denim capris were stained and faded.
As the girls began to form a circle, Cal, Jackson, and Cat all came out together. Jackson's orange eyes and amber necklace glinted and winked, a contrast against his dark skin. He wore a deep red shirt under a worn leather jacket and dark jeans.
As usual, Cal stood a bit apart from the others, careful not to smack them with his wings. Even folded they were about as tall as he was, and the bulky muscles required for flight were visible even under his loose tan tee shirt. The specks of gold and brown dotting his cream colored feathers shone in the moonlight. He wore plain jeans and boots.
Cat, indifferent to cold as she was, had on only a cheetah print tank top under a grey cargo vest and black leggings. Her long hair was pulled into a ponytail, and her feet were encased in a pair of blue sneakers.
Finally, Emma emerged onto the roof. Her red hair glinted darker in the wavering light, and her lavender tank top looked more like white. A simple pair of jeans, cream converse, and a bomber jacket completed her outfit.
Ursa herself was wearing a pale green tee and a olive green jacket with white jeans, and had her hair tied up in a bun that was already falling apart. Her blue eyes shone as she stepped into her place, completeing the circle in the center of the courtyard.
"Ready?" Erin asked.
Everyone nodded.
They all turned, backs toward each other.
"We don't know where we came from," Erin said in a steady voice.
"Or why we can do what we can," Delia added.
"But we know that we are here," Cal took over, wings shifting as he spoke.
"And we will do what we can," Ursa said next.
"We will help those we can," Veronica whispered, just loud enough for the other to hear.
"To control what they have," Emma's hair tossed in a sudden gust of wind.
"And use it as they should," Cat and Jackson murmured together.
A beat.
Then all eight kids threw out their hands. A sphere appeared before each of them. Erin's was shifting, inky blackness, Delia's, a blinding sun shooting off sparks. Cal's was formed of nearly invisible, untamed winds, and Ursa's of a jumble of loose wet soil and leaves and petals. Veronica held a swirling ball of water before her, raging and bubbling furiously. Jackson's fingertips turned orange as the globe before him dripped heat and flames, while Cat grinned at her sphere of rigid yet flowing ice and snow.
Without warning, all seven globes flew backwards through the air, colliding perfectly in the center of the circle. Twisting, sliding, morphing into one, they sizzled and smoked and hissed until an eighth sphere of pure purple light joined in the fray. For an instant, the world froze. The sphere hardened, and becamet totally transucent. And in that instant, a black shadow crawled out of the massive sphere of magic levitating between the eight kids. But they still had their backs turned, and once everything snapped back to normal, the shadow was gone.
Grinning, the kids all turned, and raised their hands again. The sphere sank just low enough for all of them to touch it, and all sixteen hands extended out toward it. But just before Ursa's fingers pressed onto the smooth, hardened magic, it began to glow with a harsh white light.
The sphere melted, seeping through Ursa's fingers and climbing up her wrists. From the shouts of alarm from around her, Ursa guessed the same was happening to the others as well.
The former sphere crawled further up Ursa's arms, becoming hotter and hotter until even Jackson, who was almost impervious to heat, cried out.
Then suddenly, it stopped. The sticky clear substance hardened, and left the eight kids sunk in up to their elbows in what used to be the sphere.
"What was that?" Cat asked, tears in her eyes from the burning heat.
"I- I don't know," Emma said shakily. "It's never done that-" she cut off with a scream.

Alrighty! This'll probably be the last part until at least Wednesday, but I promise I'll introduce almost everybody else's charrie in the next one!!!
-
unsuspectingstrytllrParticipantOk, first off, YES! I’VE BEEN INTRODUCED! Second, NOOOOOOOOOO. CLIFFHANGER! *breaks off in emotional sobbing.
-
DanieParticipantAw man, cliffhanger! Cool writing though! can't wait for the next part.
-
The Watchgirl ParticipantObservingNice work. Based on your descriptions, I’m going to try to guess their powers. Tell me if I’m right.
Erin and Delia can turn invisible(either that or Erin is darkness and Delia is light)
Veronica is water
Jackson is obviously fire
Cal is the winged one and can control the wind
Cat is… snow?
Is Emma the one who controls magic itself? It didn’t include a description of her orb…
I think Ursa is either nature or the healing one.
Anyways, you are doing a great job! Can’t wait to be introduced!
Sensefully yours,
Watchgirl
-
Clouded LeopardParticipantAh here we go!! The first two were great already, I can't wait to see more parts! You really have a knack for descriptions.
-
-
EvergreenParticipantNoctem in TerraI remember finding Brookeira's Solo Write about a year ago, reading it, and loving it. And I really like this! And YES! I have been INTRODUCED!
-
LeeliParticipantThis is super cool! I really wish I could've gotten here in time to join, but I think I'll try to follow along even though I'm not in this. 🙂
-
VyoletteParticipantI don't think the descriptions are long! They help the story weave slowly together, and it's better than no descriptions at all! I have been known to be rather vauge in my writing… I'm on the edge of my seat with your cliffhanger! Update soon!

Where The Wild Things Are@Watchgirl, you got it! Officially, I have Erin down as Darkness, and Delia as Light, but their powers are very similar. Cat I call Ice, Cal Air, and Ursa Earth. Emma I just call Magic, because it seems the least complicated.
Thanksgiving break has begun! I'll try to post at least twice more before the end of the weekend. These posts will probably be a bit smaller than the last one, and will be more focused on two or three charries until I introduce everybody. That being said, I LOVE feedback from you guys! If you feel like I'm concentrating too much on a charrie or something, please let me know!
Part III (Warning, Extreme Fangirling On My Part)
Veronica bolted upright, nearly falling off the bed she was sitting on. Dizzy, she tossed her legs over the side and studied the room as she tried to remember what had happened.
"Something went wrong with the magic," she murmered, peering around at the sky blue walls. "The sphere melted, and-"
Veronica jumped up off the massive bed, slipping off the silky material. "It pulled us in," she whispered. "There was this shadowy thing and it pulled us in…"
Growing frantic, Veronica ran over to the door, and was nearly wiped out when it opened.
"Whoa!" A male voice cried, and Veronica dropped to the floor and whipped out a foot. With a thud, the boy hit the floor. Veronica jumped up, and, finding no accessable weapon, pulled water out of the air and flung it in the boy's face.
"Oh, come on!" He shouted, trying to stand. Trying, and failing, because his legs had now been replaced with a shimmering, turquoise fish tail. Legless as he was, the boy's attempt at standing just left him with the beginnings of a bruise on the back of his head from cracking it against the floor again. His shirt had disappeared along with his legs, so he just lay on the floor, bare chest heaving.
"What the-" Veronica started.
"Ow," the boy moaned. "Well you know how to introduce yourself."
"Sorry," Veronica bent down and helped the boy push hinself across the room so he could lean against the bed. "I'm Veronica."
"Kerian," the boy panted, shoving his blond hair, which was now somehow completely soaked, out of his eyes, which faded from sea green to sky blue.
"How- how does that work?" Veronica stuttered, guesturing wildly at Kerian's tail.
"I change whenever I touch water." Kerian sighed. "The more water actually touches my skin, the longer it is till I change back. I'm pretty dry already though, so soon-"
Veronica blinked, and Kerian's tail was gone.
"There we go," he said, standing. Veronica stumbled back, realizing for the first time just how strange Kerian was. Aside from his two-toned eyes, his ears were pointed, and his clothes… They were just weird. Kerian wore nearly knee high brown leather boots over black trousers, and a dark blue jerkin over a baggy, longsleeved white linen shirt. To top it all off he wore a long midnight blue coat, along with a brown leather sword belt that appeared to be complete with an actual sword. There was also a black mark on the back of his left hand that extended back into his sleeve.
"Veronica?" Kerian asked quietly, reading the look on her face. "What's wrong?"
"What is going on?" She gasped. "Where am I?"
———————-
MWAHAHAHAHAHA!! Just another FYI, all charries are 13-14ish, with the exception of Jacin, Quenta, and Kerian, who are about 15
-
Apprentice ParticipantHaha! Awesome! Do I sense room for ships???? I feel like you said their ages for a specific reason… 🙂
-
DanieParticipantJeez this is getting interesting!
