BrookeiraParticipantBrynn-
“Excuse me, do you-“ Brynn was cut off as a man swept her away, smiling. She followed his steps as best she could, cursing herself. The silver-embroidered dress looked like a deep blue sky with silver lightning lines etched around the hem. Her hair was curled in a low bun, little wisps escaping delicately. She’d had to remove her glasses to dance, which made it difficult to see anyone or find her companions.
A man in a green mask swept her away. She forced a smile.
”Look, alright, you look great. This ball’s been great. But, unfortunately, I’m busy and need to find my companions. Now would you mind-“ he said.
”Will?” Brynn asked, recognizing the voice. The man in front of her startled.
”Brynn? That’s… you’re…” Will trailed off.
”I know,” Brynn said, oblivious, “they really went a bit heavy on the lightning motif.”
”Um… no, I meant… you look…”
”All dolled up, yeah. I know, it’s weird. Let’s find the others.” said Brynn.
Brynn took him by the hand and moved through the crowd, spying Penny and Jackson. Alexia made her way through, panting, looking lovely despite it.
As they reconvened, the dancers stopped. The townsfolk parted. A small whisper rippled through the audience, and the dancers slowed.
A slight woman stepped through. Brynn bit back a scream, clutching Will’s hand.
The Oracle was short, and had no eyes. Two slender green snakes wound in and out of her eye sockets, scales shifting to reveal glowing lines alond their backs.
”What the-“ Jackson muttered. The Oracle smiled and bowed.
”We hope you enjoyed our hospitaity.” she said, with a voice like leaves scraping over the floor of a ruined temple. “And we hope that, soon enough, you will destroy the flame queen and bring balance to our-“
A gong sounded in the city. The townspeople flinched as one.
A boy ran from the front of the town, panting. “The Flame Queen demands tribute, or she’ll unleash the Wyrm Dragon.”

Over Sea, Under Stone*Bursts into the thread, huffing and puffing*
Okay, I'm here, I'm here! Sorry I haven't been able to post!! I forgot how crazy everything gets when I have all my school stuff and extracurriculars. So. Lots of things.
@Brookeira, yes, I was sort of thinking something like shapeshifting for Eileen's powers. So I was thinking, she can shapeshift into a wolf, and communicate with them and stuff, and it's almost like part of her is wolf. It's a little hard to explain. And then I thought on the side, some minor wind powers, like controlling wind currents and that sort of thing.
i can't post now because Wednesday is a super busy day for me, but I should be able to tomorrow.

J.B.EParticipantJackson~
A dragon?
A dragon .
There was a dragon in this world and somehow that surprised him less than the woman who looked like something out of a Romanian folk tale designed to mentally scar six year olds.
"So they have to pay or they'll get the dragon?" he muttered, his voice nearly lost in the anxious crowd. "Sounds like my current rent situation." No one laughed. Smooth.
"We're gonna take care of it… right?" Penny said to no one in particular.
Jackson looked at her. "Uh… why?" he asked.
"Because it's the right thing to do?"
"The right thing for what? A bunch of people who might as well not exist? For all we know they're just nameless background characters reliving the same story over and over again. I wouldn't even do it if they payed me, because their money is worthless too."
Penny shook her head in disbelief. Jackson snorted.
But then a sudden realization dawned on him.
Their money wasn't useful in his world.
But it was useful in this world.
And this world had no cops. No rules. And, seemingly, no limitations. He could be whatever he wanted to be. And it's not like he had anything waiting for him back home, either. This could be a fresh start. A pretty weird fresh start, but a fresh start all the same.
And just like that, getting back to Oregon was no longer first on his prority list.
Without warning, Jackson pushed through the crowd with sudden confidence. He stopped in front of the orcale, looking down at her. "l'll fix your dragon problem," he said, beginning to slide into his mercernary role "For the right price."

J.B.EParticipantguys? are we still doing this?

DanieParticipantSorry, ack, I should really stop abandoning my RPs.
Will~
I watch in shock as Jackson strides over to The Oracle, an expression of confidence and wit stretched across his face.
"I'll fix your dragon problem," He said, calmly. "For the right price."
I sigh, and push my way out of the crowd and toward them, trying to ignore the flowers that sprout in my footprints. "Just wait a minute! What sort of tribute? Money?"
The Oracle shook her head. "No, we've been giving her money and resources for the past months." Almost muttering to herself, she continued, "She wants me."
"Alright, well, could explain what we're dealing with?" I cross my arms, unconsciously shifting the sleeves of my doublet.
"They are like dragons, but more serpent-like, with short legs and slender wings," The Oracle informs. "While they come in many elemental forms, I'm positive that this one will be breathing fire."
"How much time has she given us?" Penny walks forward, her posture still resembling a knight's despite the dress. However, she still looks nervous, once in a while moving her hand to her hip as if wanting to grab a sword not there.
"Five minutes, but at this point its probably closer to three," The messenger responds, looking incredibly nervous.
"Well, we ought to get this dragon away from the town, " I didn't even notice Brynn walk over here. She had picked up a stick from the ground, watching with interest as electricity shock through it.
"And how do you suppose we–" I'm cut short with a loud roar resonates through the town. Everyone goes quiet, waiting. Penny situates herself in a fighting stance, and Wrynn holds her stick in front of her.
Then from the air, another roar reaches our ears. As I slowly look up, I see the slender shape of a dragon.
Oh no.

AspenParticipantEileen~
I start awake to fine myself in the clearing, bound with vines, and gagged as well. Juuust wonderful. I wince. And the lightning burn won't let itself be forgotten, either. Suddenly, a quiet whine sounds from behind a tree and one of my wolves emerges into the clearing.
Alpha? He whimpers. Here, allow me to…
He begins to gnaw on the vines wrapped tightly around me. It takes forever, but finally, I'm free. "Thank you, Arvon." I tell the wolf in a quiet yip. Arvon's amber eyes glint with slight pleasure.
You are welcome, Alpha.
Arvon pauses for a moment, then ventures, Do you think your mother will be angry?
"I can't tell." I growl softly. "She already plans to unleash the Wyrm. I don't think she will be very angry about it. Oh, and Arvon?"
Yes, Alpha?
"You are promoted to Beta. Vornar fled with the rest."~
That's all, I gotta go.

AspenParticipantNononono this can't die!!! I won't let it, I won't, I won't!! It's too good to die. Too amazing, too well thought out, and… yeah.

unsuspectingstrytllrParticipant~Adrianna
The moment the Wyrm dragon was released was the moment that Adrianna gave in. She needed to do it, she knew. She needed to stop struggling. While she wasn’t resisting she could figure this out. You’re right, she murmured, making the Flame Queen smile. I need to understand my part. “Yes, dear.” The words came out like a purr. “You are ready.” Instantly images filled her mind, images of the past, the present, and the possible future. Darkness swirled around her, seeping into her being, filling her with fire of hatred. Flame Queen Adrianna grinned maliciously at the sensation. But a small part of herself held back, uninflected by the manipulating darkness. This part waited for the right moment, sorting through memories, watching the present, and planning her moves.
