I just love how the others are thinking of Eagna as some snob or something when really he's just filled with patriotism lol

"This is where we must leave you, little ones. Follow the maps, the legend with guide you. Please have faith." I clung onto the words of the noble Dragon Queen and bowed my head.
The Five Great leaders of the Five Great Empires all looked at one enother, then turned tail and vanished into the forests, back where they had come.
It was quiet for a few long heartbeats. I shuffled my wings from the thick, knarled pine tree branch that I was perched on.
"So." A little blue dragon- Eagna I belive- pipped up, ruffling his light blue wings slightly. "Uh, let's go, then." He pulled the map out from the other dragon's satchel.
"And who made you our all-great leader?" Snorted the wild cat, Revka I think.
"Well what else do you think we should do?!" Eagna retorded, crinkling his snout.
Revka paused, mouth open, tail lashing. She barred her teeth in defeat and stalked fowards, into the forest. "I think you need the map, sweety." The little blue dragon called after her, waving it in his talons.
"I don't have talons." The she-cat hissed, glaring back at him.
"He's a dragon, love." All eyes went down to the coyotie, looking calm and unbothered as he trotted up to the Sand Empire cat. "Why don't you let him navigate?"
"W-well." Came another voice, the Tree Empire's elk, I think, Everlast. "The Empire of Stone Finders should lead us. Your Emporer told us himself that that was the reason you two were chosen."
My face went blank, and so did the coyoties. "Well." Sweep, I think him name was, looked up at me with a sly glance at Revka. "Peak's the only one with talons."
"Oh." I looked down at my talons, finally getting where this conversation was going. "Yea I can lead."
I opened my wings with a small shuffling sound and dipped down from the tree, swooping up to flap to a stop next to Eagna. He gave me a low look as my feathers caught him on the snout. He gripped the map in his left talon, shuffled his weight on his wings, and handed it to me. I took it, spread my wings and flapped into the air, circling them as I read it.
There was the start of the map, the large Dragon-shaped boulder. And the end….a white dragon shaped boulder. Wow. I can't belive that I of all creatures was chosen for a misson as grand as this! I felt a bought of adreniline run through my blood.
I looked up sharply from the map and stopped, angling my wings to the direction the map was pointing at. North. A large mountain semmingly streaching into space met my gaze. "Wow." I breathed, looking down at the creatures bellow me. It looked like Revka and Eagna were argueing again. I sigh, angled my wings downwards, and landed heavily in the middle of the gathered Finders.
"It's that way." My beak clicked as I said this, my wing guestering north. "Uh…Hazel? You might want to hitch a ride. Um, you too." I flicked my talons at the two Finders of Sea. "We're in for a long hike."
Eagna took that moment to boost. "You mean you have a long hike, I, like most dragons, have wings." He spred his lit blue wings with as much drama and regal-ness as he could muster.
"And I," spat Revka. "Like most mentally sane animals, don't care." Her tail lashed behind her as Sweep tried to hide his smirk.
Eagna opened his mouth, then closed it, as if he was coming to the realization that not everyone thought he was amazing just because he was a dragon. I mean- dragons were pretty cool- but they had taken over all of the other empires in a slightly unfair way.
"Okay!" The other dragon, Ximena, saved her comrads humilliation swiftly. "Let's get started, uh, Peak! Lead the way!" Her golden tipped tail waved gracefully behind her sleek form.
I nodded and spread my wings, leaping into the air. I felt adreniline course through my blood again, and excitment lit the tips of my wings on fire. I felt just like my parents must have during the war, they were scouts for the Empire of Stone. I was leading my comrads to battle.

Tuxedo KittenParticipantI love this! Amazing, amazing, amazing! I like the portrayal of all the animals, very well done.

Ok,. So Eagna's a little cocky. Who can blame him?
I love it.
Journal Entry!
Quest for the Five Jewels
By Eagna Gromfiacail
Hello reader! If you are reading this book. That mean's we finders of the stone have failed and you found this next to my corpse or you picked this up at a library to find out more of our grand adventure.
Hopefully the latter.
I, Eagna, am a wyvern. I have been chosen due to my ability to use poison breath and healing breath. A rare ability that only one wyvern seems to have every 100 years or so. This is my perspective of these events.
I was in my simple Adobe when two Dragons came along entered, I was reading up some good works of Scr'ivkit Achuak. A revolutionary writer of dragon literature. They told me due to having the ability to use both kinds of breath Wyverns are known for. Only one every hundred years or so are born with it. And my parents service to the empire. I have been chosen as one of the two finders of sky.
I have never felt so much joy in my life. To serve my empire not as a soldier or healer. But as a Finder. Once hearing the news I quickly prepared a kit to take with me for this quest. This book being one of them. My father's lucky spoon however being most important of them all. I know it's rather ridiculous to believe but itis true. It's a simple spoon really. With a string tied to it so it can be worn. However my father said it's been in the family for generations and has never let us down…
Though for the past 12 years some would say I should beg to differ.
But it has yet to fail me and as my father and his father put their trust in it. I put mine in it as well.
Finished packing. I followed the two dragons to the empress' palace. The place was over the top but we'll structure. Me, along with the other finder Ximena were the first ones there. Ximena is indigo with hints of violet and magenta. With flecks of gold. A true beauty. But seemed to be feeling nervous… Myself internally freaking out but I mustn't let it show. This quest requires that of strength. Not of wimping out. I need to be strong
For father and mother if not the empress and myself.
Just as our Empress was about to send for the others, a large moose entered. With horns second to a dragon. Following him were a hawk and a coyote. The finders of stone. The hawk Peak was a mix of brown and tan with soft eyes. The coyote Sweep seemed layed back with a hint of mischievousness to it. He gave me a cocky smile. I should feel mocked but not even he can ruin my mood. I turn my head high.
Next came a tiger being followed by an elk and doe. The Finder of Trees. The Elk Everlast seemed humbled, while the Doe Amistia seemed determined and hard. Kinda unexpected when she looked innocent enough. I respect her bravery.
A Painted Dog with tired eyes came next with a fennec Fox and an African wildcat. Xena and Revka respectively. The finders of sand. One shy but th ere othet hard to read. They were excorted with what looked like two dozen guards from their empire. Things must have been really bad… They murmured with the Stone.
It was brought up by the Empress of Sand how she hopes her two return and that reminded me that no one actually returns from this Quest. I admit I got nervous for a moment.
After what felt like an attornity the doors open with a crocodile. Platapus by her side. And…. A otter on the croc's back. The Finders of Sea. The platapus Samuel is just emotionless while Hazel the Otter looks sickly… Hopefully my healing breath will be strong enough to at lease ease it…
The Emperor Cove was testing our Sage it seems. Clever.
We did introductions. My pride building when I noticed that the Wildcat was muttering under her breath. I roll my eyes and snicker a little, don't blame her but she needs to show respect. She can talk about clawing my face after the meeting.
We gotten supplies and settled off. I take out the map and said "Let's go when Revka asked who made me leader.
Me, a leader? Oh that would be a great honor but I would have to agree someone else might be more qualified.
"Well, what else do you think we should do?"
She stayed silent and stomped off. Showed her.
"Hey! You need a map sweety." Holding the map in my talons.
It was offered I should navigate when Everlast suggested that one of the Stone do it. Peak because of his talons was chosen thanks to Sweep . An excellent choice. I'll excuse when his wing stuck me. I hand the mad and he takes off.
I get into another arguement with Revka (to which I don't recall. Probably had something to do with my "pride") when Peak directed us to the Diamond Dragon. Suggesting for Hazel and Samuel to hitch a ride.
Purposely being boostful. I stretch my wings.
"I, like most dragons, have wings."
"And I, like most mentally sane animals, don't care." She lashed her tail as Sweep hid his smirk.
Ximena was able to move this along but I feel like I'm sending the wrong message.
Maybe I am letting it get to my head.
As Peak takes off again. I think to myself maybe I should just act more humble. We are working together so it's best for us to get along. As we traveled I plan to break the ice easier. Get to know my comrades.
It'll be for the greater good.

ClaawsParticipantAwe thanks guys ur support means a lot 🙂
Writer, I love your excerpt!
(guys I sound so white in my writing this isn't ok I really need to read more omk)
~ Everlast
I never thought I would be part of some great hero-y mission like this. I never thought I would be chosen to find the mysterious all-powerful object-turned beasts who created our world as we knew it. Heck, I didn't even want to do this really. Well, I mean of course I wanted to do it. But I wasn't the large-antlered bull my mom wanted me to be, and I wasn't neccisarly strong on the outside. I would be very usless durning this misson. Well, maybe not the puzzle parts. I'm good at math. Well, my dad was a Mathmatic Professor so I had a good teacher.
I felt a long, achy pain in my stomich. It had only been two days-not even- and I already missed home. I looked around at the bickering or flying or nervous animals around me, and wondered for the first time that day if anyone else was having simular thought-tracks about being usless and wanting to go home.
Well, none of us could be usless. It was foretold that we would get the stones.
But then again-
"Okay! Let's get started, uh Peak! Lead the way!" I snapped back to reality and turned to blink-not fully processing- as the hawk from the Epmpire of Stone took off into the sky.
The blue dragon- Eagna -made hasty eye-contact with the wild cat (who was only a little smaller then him) and spread his wings. He then turned to the other dragon, a tall vibrantly colored thing, and said very boldly, "would you like to fly with me?"
The dragoness turned her head to look down at him and I could see the confusion on her face. She then gave him a quirky little half smile and turned to look around at the other animals gathered. Next to me, I felt Amistia stiffen. The dragoness and the doe had locked gazes, and the silver eyes of the dragon's instantly widened as the fire withen Amistia's soul burned through her defences. "Uh, er," she studdered very quickly before ripping her gaze away. Amnistia did not take her eyes away from the dragon. "I'm just going to walk, for now."
Eagna looked hurt but didn't say anything else. I caught the dragoness give him a concerned look, before laughing anxiously, and quickly continued, "but I bet Peak would like someone to talk to as he figures out that map."
Eagna blinked a few times as if he was thinking, smiled at her, then took off into the air to where Peak was waiting for everyone to get situated. "I can carry Hazel." I physically jumped as the doe next to me spoke out in a cool and athoritive tone.
She stepped fowards, gave me a look with her cold green eyes, then nelt to her knees in front of the small otter. Hazel played with her paws for a second, gave Amnistia a half-smile, then climbed onto her back, using the satchel already around the deer's shoulders as a stepping stool.
"You don't say much dear, do you?" I jumped again as Sweep stepped up on my other side. He was looking at Hazel.
"Uh-um." The small thing managed to stutter, figiting with her paws again.
"Don't push it." The deer's harsh gaze landed on the coyotie, and his half-smirk of a smile faded quickly as he met her eyes.
"Why doesn't someone carry this one over there too? Those flippers won't get him far." His voice was colder but not at the same time, like he was playing his own game with the emotions inside his head. "Everest?" He turned to me.
"Uh-it's E-everlast actually." I stuttered.
"Right. What I said." I could have sworn the canine's eyes narrowed just a bit and his teeth seemed to glint in the light, making them seem that much sharper. "You could carry, uh, the duck-billed one."
"Samuel." The doe corrected briskley. "His name's Samuel."
The brown Kingdom of Sea animal looked up as his name was said. He seemed to have been studding a twisted fern for the past few muinets. "Yes?" His voice was monotoned, blank, like he just didn't care for this misson.
Which I mean, atleast the rest of us were willing to put in an effort. I looked around at the small fox sitting off to the side, studding her paws, Eagna and Peak who's steady wingbeats had become comforting background noise, the sparkling dragoness who looked regal and sharp next to the sly wildcat who's pail fur stood out in the greens of the small mountain forest. I mean, I think the rest of us were trying.
I could only hope I guess.
"Ya, of course I can carry Samuel." I bent down so the strange Empire of Sea creature could scrammble only my back and curl up where my back met my neck. I could feel him possition his head on one of my antlers.
"Ready?" Eagna's impacient voice carried down from the sky.
Ximena looked around at the creatures. The fox got to her feet. "Yes!" She called back.
The two Finders in the air circled once over our heads, Peak in the lead, before banking off to the left of Revka. The she-cat, who had been silent for the past few muinets, ran fowards so she could be right behind them. The dragoness followed, then Sweep as he tried to catch up with the wildcat, then me and Amnistia. The small fox took up the back. I glanced back at her only once, wondering if she should be more towards the front because of her small size.
I could hear the clacking of wings and teeth as Eagna and Peak began to talk, skimming or weaving through the stunted mountain pines. I noted now how the trail was begining to tilt up. I shuddered suddenly, my fear of hights taking hold. I hope we didn't have to walk over any steep or small or high places…..
Why couldn't they just leave us behind in the first place? Only the two dragon Finders actually had to be here for the stone.
But oh well, 10 is better then 2 anyways.
