ZeusParticipantIdahoWhen I was little, I thought that wearing a short-sleeved t-shirt on top of a long-sleeved t-shirt was called an Edward Shirt, because the first person I saw do that was this family friend named Edward. For years my parents called it that, and then I talked to some boy in my second grade class about his Edward Shirt and was really confused when he told me I was weird.

KittenParticipantThese are so cute!
@Leafpool, Aphrodite is pronounced with an EE on the end? I totally didn't know that…
@Vyolette, I completely agree on the curly hair!!! I always envy people who can just brush their hair to make it smoother. When I brush my hair, it makes it super frizzy. But once a total stranger came up to me and said (quite nicely) that she loved my hair.
I used to draw people with a head, stick arms, stick legs, and two circles in the middle like snowmen.

The OceanI dunno what my little brother thought when he started dancing and singing "happy Birthday tree" in front of the Christmas tree. He also pulled it down. twice. and he's, like two feet tall.
I forget what I thought. But I do remember I thought some weird things. 0v0

LostI've always been terrible at pronouncing things (still am), probably because I learnt so many words by reading. The worst of all my mispronounciations was probably on the word "misled". For a long time I read it as "MY-zuld", sorta like the way "tousled" is pronunced. I still do in my head, to be honest. To me, myzuld is an actual word that means "tricked, swindled".

I used to think that Phoebe was pronounced 'feeb'. I also thought the name of a grocery store was 'Blawblaws' rather than 'Loblaws'.
Lastly, when I was around 3 (in daycare) I thought boogers and burgers were pronounced the same way. And the resulting scene is caught on camera: My innocent 3 year old self, toddling up to the daycare supervisor and saying in the stuttering way accustomed to small children, "I, I need a, a tissue, becuase, I, uh, I have, uh, burgers, in, in my nose."
P.S. Why is the age slot sometimes above the location slot and sometimes below??

CorolineParticipantI thought Phoebe was pronounced "fo-EE-bee".

CockleburrParticipantWhen I was little my dad would make chicken cacciatore, which I had incredible difficulty saying. I pronounced it as 'kitchen tack-a-tory' and eventually forgot that this wasn't actually the name of the dish. My reasoning being, "Well, it's made in a kitchen…"
Come to think of it, I had a lot of strange names for food. Campbell's chicken noodle soup was 'chichum lickum', and stew with beef, beans, and alphabet letters was 'oop-a-doop soup'.
Ooooh, it must have been fun to eat at your house, Cockleburr!

In the CloudsI had these two big freckles on my arm. (still have 'em).
Anyway, one day I put a sippee cup on the bigger one of these two freckles, and one I took it off, it seemed to me it was bigger.
Also my family used to call sippee cups gee cups(long story).

Ella StarburstParticipantchairbecause of my brother's joke, I thought my Kindergarten gym teacher was named Mr. Almond.
It wasn't until I switched schools in first grade and lived there until fifth or fourth that I found out it was Mr. Allman.
