coyotedominoParticipantSugar, I’m Going DownI dance to music when no one’s around.
Yes.
-
Rogue WildlingParticipantSAME I think I look like a dying chicken, but I still dance subtly when nobody is in the area.

The Forest@Twirlgirl- Ah, that's not a bad thing! Imagining the characters are real shows you get more enjoyment out of the book, and I used to do similar as well.
@Jithkeeper/Spiffycat- I actually went through something like this, where I thought that my friends were watching everything I did. I felt constantly nervous and embarassed. Yes, this is kinda bad, but it also shows that you're self-aware and care about what your friends think of you.
@Aquamarine and anyone else who mentioned being afraid of the dark- You're definitely not alone! I personally suffer from a fear of the dark because I'm intensely near-sighted (I wear glasses) and have been from a young age. When in bed, I had my glasses off, so everything around me was extremely blurry, making it easy for me to see things. Not only that, I suffered from some pretty awful nightmares that were set in the night, so I was always afraid that a character from those nightmares would come back. A lot of those nightmares even took place in my bedroom itself, with the monster waiting for me to set foot out of bed before attacking.
I'm fourteen now and of course I know that there aren't monsters in the night or the dark, but I experienced enough of the phobia as a child that still makes me dread the dark. It's a natural feeling and can easily be caused by other things (like my glasses!), not just a childish or embarassing fear of the dark. Know that it's okay to be afraid of what you can't entirely see.

LeeliParticipant@Coyote, I do too! I often do it in my room when I'm alone and I have music on, but my room's small, so I often end up kicking or hitting something in my attempt to dance, and then abruptly stop and hope no one heard the noise.
That reminds me of something else embarrassing I do, too: I also just dance randomly. Sometimes when there's no music and people are around. It's kind of like an absent-minded thing I do without really realizing I'm doing it. I usually don't do it in public, but when I'm at home or at someone's house I often will. Like when I'm standing around waiting for something, I sometimes dance subtly. Or I'll do it accidentally when I'm just going about my life. Sometimes I even dance slightly while I'm just talking to someone. And then people give me weird looks and wonder what the heck I'm doing.
Yeah…I'm not normal. XD

I have this one friend whom I call "Oven" and Sometimes I'll say things like "Oven, my Shoven Broven" and one time I called him "my beloven" as in beloved on accident and the gaudiest girls in the school were there and they were all like "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and I was so DEAD

WashingtonI do the same thing ALL THE TIME! Sometimes I'll assess people's personalities based on characters from muscials. One of my friends is a blend of Angelica from Hamilton and Jared from Dear Evan Hansen.

DarkkingParticipantWho knows?
A dimension.I'm scared of the dark, that's probably partially why my username is Darkking. I guess it's because I thought, and still think, that if you make your fear a part of yourself then you'll stop being scared… Well, that got deep. *nervous laughter*
ipup
*pats Mor's head* Fine, if you're good then maybe we can get a dog.
Dogs are quite loyal creatures and are very enjoyable.
PuPpY?!?!
)(Wait, we're getting a dog?)(
I said maybe guys jeez.

LeafpoolParticipantTotally
not really amusedWhen I was little, like really little, I used to want to have like 20 kids or something when I grew up, and name them all after people from Assassin's Creed.
If that's not strange, I don't know what is.
-
Ella StarburstParticipantTBH, a lot of kids are going to be named after fandom peeps. But AC? odd.

JwynParticipant14
The Realm Of CreativityI often narrate my life in my head as if I was in a book, formulating the right adjectives for everything that happens. It's actually quite fun.
Also, when I turn on the clothes washer, it calculates the load for approximately 5 seconds, then starts washing. So when I do my laundry, I start it, then leave the room as quickly as possible, because I imagine that when it begins washing the room explodes and I can't be touching the floor within when it does.
-
Rogue WildlingParticipantI declare, you and I must be the same person in some alternate universe. Not only do I narrate my life in my head, but I also have this feeling of 'This cannot go right unless I am not in the room'!
-
LeeliParticipantI narrate my life in my head sometimes, too! I agree, it actually is fun.
-
nooneParticipantin particularThat sounds fun tho, Jwyn
-
SpiffycatParticipantI used to after my mom read me a story written in first person (by Helen Keller! her life story really vcool). It lasted about 2 years and was really annoying after a while. I tried desparately to make it stop – I regarded it as a sort od disease.
Turned out the best way to stop it was to stop trying.
I still do it sometimes, and it's not annoying.

LeeliParticipantI talk to myself when I’m alone. And like Gollum. I refer to myself as ‘we’, and I argue with myself, as if there are multiple voices in my head. I do it all the time, and about everything, be it ranting or scolding myself or planning out a storyline (It’s actually very helpful when it comes to working out plot tangles). It’s strangely helpful for a lot of things?? But honestly a little creepy and makes me wonder for my mental state sometimes.

SchokoladeYou folk are all making me feel guilty, because your embarrassing facts consist of interesting propensities and funny quirks. While I, too, talk to fictional characters (and inanimate objects) and dance when no one's watching and am afraid of the dark, I carry heftier burdens. Let me get one off my chest.
*deep breath*
*pause*
*exhales*
IliketheshowLegoNinjagoMastersofSpinjitzu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There. And now you know. I'm very mature. XD
However, I have improved somewhat. It's been a few years now since I couldn't send a well-worn toothbrush on it's final voyage, via the trash, without giving it a farewell address.
-
General WafflesonParticipantI gots a couple:
1) I am terrified of bugs. Like all bugs. Roaches, centipedes, worms, spiders, etc. Any creepy crawly bugs just are a hard nope for me. Ugh, just thinking about it gives me the willies.
2) One time during the Pledge of Allegiance when they said "salute" I actually saluted the flag by complete accident. That was embarrassing.
3) I legitimately get freaked out over some really not-scary creepypastas and stuff like sonc.exe or whatever.
4) I once got stuck under a desk from tilting my chair and the subsequently rolling under the desk behind me. I couldn't get out so the teacher had to pick up the desk and let me get out. This happened in like, second grade though.
5) *inhales* *exhales* I actually went through a "Brony" phase in fifth grade for like a month. Now THAT was embarrassing

In the CloudsBeing scared of bugs is super normal. I think maybe even most people are. However, I have always liked bugs altho larvae and stuff is sorta gross. (Ew)

SecretParticipantI argue with myself too! I think of them as little characters linked with one part of my personality. Like there's this one who I accociate with art, and writing.
I even named them.
Dream says ibak. I wonder what she means by that….

MarigoldParticipantThe State of MindI was on a Scout BSA campout last weekend. I got about three hours of sleep Thursday night before the campout, and just the same amount except more restless on the campout.
My brain went completly insane and I was half-convinced that someone was reading my thoughts.
Please don't judge me, sleep deprivation is a beast >.<
-
AquamarineParticipantXI
In the CloudsAHHHHHHHHHHH you are in BSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW????????!!!!???? did ya get in so fast????
-
MarigoldParticipantThe State of MindOur Troop was set up a couple months before February when it became official- me and some other girls were also already in Venture Crew and thus had a bit of experience.
