Fidelity (NEW POST)ParticipantGosh, I missed this RP. Let's revive!
Kairo~
"Hold your fire! It's us!" Rlang bellows. Jeez, she sure is scary. I'm a little nervous but AYa marches right in.
"Those aren't…" She gestures towards the two figures in Vojnovy uniforms.
"They're on our side, hopefully." She shoots them a glare. I don't know how she does it, considering she can't see.
"I would side with us. You do NOT want to get on Rlang's bad side, take it from me," I comment.
Rlang turns towards me and hisses, "Once this is all over we're going to have another go at THE CHASE."
I hope this is never over because I am truly dead meat. Who knew bipedal tortoises could run so fast??
"Nice to meet you, space elf." I shoot the cute space elf a wink. He smirks.
"I'm Ji."
I turn towards Seólta, who's sulking in corner. "Aren't you glad I came to rescue you?"
"Your absence was the best moment of my life."
A loud tone starts beeping from Jaihra's byte. We all turn to look at her as she starts tapping at the screen, confused.
"I think this is some kind of message. It's not attached to a HyperFrequency or KNKYO channel… Let me try changing to Common Wave," she reports.
"Maybe it's a radio signal?" Analia says quietly. "I learned about them in Intergalactic Studies. They're commonly used by systems across the Milky Way Galaxy."
"Milky Way? That galaxy barely has intersystem travel!" Seólta scoffs with a tad bit of disgust.
"I've learned about those! I can try, but they only work well within a few thousand miles." Jaihra taps a few buttons and a buzzing static fills the air. Rlang flinches.
Then, a fuzzy holograph flickers on. A strange looking figure gazes upon us with a kind smile.
"Hello, travellers. I'm glad you made it. Come meet me at the Center. I'm sure Jaihra will know how to find me. Please hurry. My planet depends on it."

Jaihra taps furiously at her byte, trying to connect to some kind of signal.
"Maybe it's a radio signal?" Analia suggests. "We learned about those in Intergalactic Studies. They're commonly used by systems across the Milky Way Galaxy."
Seó says something about the Milky Way, which we all ignore.
"I've learned about those! I can try, but they only work well within a few thousand miles," Jaihra says, fiddling with the screen. I peer over at what the young mechanic is doing.
I hear a buzzing, and a fuzzy holograph appears above the byte. A strange, tentacled figure looks at us and says, "Hello, travellers. I'm glad you made it. Come meet me at the Center. I'm sure Jaihra will know how to find me. Please hurry. My planet depends on it." The holograph flickers off, leaving the room silent.
"So… I guess we're headed back to Philia?" Light breaks the silence.
Jaihra nods. "Danica and I found the Center while we were exploring. I remember where it is."
"Then by all means, lead the way!" the space elf, Ji, says cheerfully. "We're coming with you, by the way." He gestures to himself and his companion.
"How did you get up here, anyway?" Rlang asks as we head back to the airlock. "Your ships are both down."
"We borrowed one of the ships on Philia," I respond. "The Ilargia, I think."
Seólta looks up sharply. "Borrowed? As in, stole?"
I nod. "Well, yeah, but we're going to give it back."
"We're space pirates, in case you've forgotten," Light adds.
We board the stolen- ahem, borrowed– ship. Light sits in the pilot seat, and I take copilot. We head away from the Vojnovy ship and back towards the surface of Philia.
Jaihra joins us at the front, directing where to land. "There's the frozen lake, and Aigith's ship. A little that way… Keep going… There's the Center! Land over there." Light obliges, and we touch down lightly.
We all disembark, and I see a few figures run towards us from the circle of abandoned buildings. One is a human-selieth hybrid, and two are Kadal.
"That's my ship!" shouts the selieth hybrid, skidding to a stop.
"Yeah, sorry about that. It was kind of urgent. But we brought it back!" I say, gesturing to the ship behind us.
One of the Kadal, whose horns are painted pink and purple, addresses our group. "Good, you're all here. We've been wondering where you were. Hurry, the Philian is about to speak."

The Center was crowded, and it was difficult for the group to actually get to it because everyone was in the way. Eventually, Rlang started yelling at everyone to move out of the way, and suddenly it wasn't difficult at all.
The Phillian themself stood on a platform made of several stacked metal crates, just in front of the entrance of the Center. Everyone on Philia was circled around them, and though it was enough for there to be a sizable crowd, it was almost freakishly small considering the size of the planet.
The Philian cleared their throat, and everyone quited, even Light, to which Seó was surprised.
"My name is Xaloxi Bololu," They began, their voice loud and clear. "I am a Philian. The last Philian. All because of the Vojnovy."
"All because of the Vojnovy," She said. "They're the ones who ended Muzhk's life."
Seó blinked and cleared the memory from his mind.
"The Vojnovy didn't just enslave my people, they eradicated them. The Philians are soon to be extinct–because of them," They continued. "These are not crimes that can go unpunished. The Vojnovy have gone undefeated for far too long. It's time we take a stand."
The Philian hadn't even finished their speech yet, but there came yelling and cheering from the crowd.
The crowds cheered, not for him, but for the man next to him–Azazel de Valdis. To the public, he was nothing more than an eccentric pop star, bursting with charisma and good looks. But he knew there was more to Valdis than what the public was shown, than what the Vojnovy were shown.
Seó was pulled from this memory by the Philian continuing to speak.
"And we aren't just going to stand up against the Vojnvoy–nio, we're going to stand against the governments who tried to hide their crimes from the galaxy. We're going to stand against all those who would hide the people from truth, and justice, and steal their freedom from them. We are going to band together, and we are going to find out why the Vojnovy eradicated my people and enslaved countless others, all while the governments sit back and do nothing. We are the Truth-Seekers, and we're going to save the galaxy."
"We're going to save the planet," She said. "No matter what it takes." Seó could remember her perfectly– her determination, her smile, her naiveity.
And her death.
The crowds roared with excitement and a sense of power. Seó tried to focus on their noise, to be swept into their energy as everyone else had, but he couldn't. His memories were piling up in his mind, fragmented–Azazel passed out, on the floor, almost dead. Jaci, sobbing and crying, shouting towards the skies, begging for Muzhk. Wise old Ozhli, who everyone loved, laying in a pool of dark liquid on the floor of his own restaurant. Waking up in a hospital bed, suddenly being flooded with a horrible sensation he'd never exprienced before–pain.

If you couldn't tell, I had a great time planning out Seó's backstory. Let me know if this isn't an acceptable Philian speech.

The crowd cheered, and Fila cheered along with them. Finally, her life was coming to a high. She would be able to actually do something to help the universe! Or, she would in concept…
"Hey," she said, nudging Yang.
Yang leaned in, trying to hear over the roar of the crowd. "What?"
"That's a great speech and all, but what exactly are we going to do?"
Yang tilted her head, then cupped her hands around her mouth and yelled in the direction of Xaloxi Bololu. "Yo! Exactly how are we going to do that?"
The Philian glanced over and raised their tentacles, quieting the crowd. "I'm sorry, could you repeat that?"
"I said, exactly how are we going to do that?" Yang yelled. Fila blushed a bit. She hadn't expected Yag to actually do anything at the moment… but she supposed that was necessary, if they were actually going to make any change. She ought to have yelled too, now that she thought about it.
"That is an excellent question," said the Philian. "I was thinking that we should start by finding out who is behind this. We know the Vojnovy are involved, but I believe they cannot be working alone."
"Why not?" came a voice. It sounded like Seó, but uncharacteristically emotional. He must really hate the Vojnovy, Fila thought.
The crowd began to stir. "Yeah, why not?" someone else shouted, and suddenly everyone was yelling. "Death to the Vojnovy!" "No more nonsense!" "Make them pay!"
Fila looked around uncomfortably. This couldn't go well…
