The bodice is made of silk embroidered into silver floral patterns, and the skirt is an enormous, floaty mass of gauzy tulle. I will be wearing a simple, tarnished silver locket, but that is tucked into my dress, so all you can see is the delicate silver chain.Personality: One of those people who seems like a fluttery, silly butterfly on the outside, but is really quite clever, although that is hidden from most people, including myself. I'd like to throw in a bit of heartache, if you don't mind, Madam. Also, I really love cheese. It's my driving passion. Please have as much fun with that as you can. -

Madam MasqueradeParticipantMulberry MansionThe Beginning
The Train Ride
"This is fantastic!" Mistress Bloodmoon said. She looked out the window, giddy.
Everyone was in silent agreement that it was very odd to not see each other's faces. A little haunting, very eerie. Yet, they were still making friends. And monocle man was freaking everyone out. He was possibly insane.
"This countryside is gorgeous," Pea gushed. "Fantastic!" Her hands were pressed to the window as the eyes beneath her mask peered out at the countryside. Beside her, Mistress Bloodmoon agreed.
They were on a train, a rather fantastic one. Off to some mansion, in fact, that must have been somewhere in this sprawling English countryside.
The Black Master and Student were sitting silently. The more introverted guests were making the more extroverted ones uncomfortable as they stared behind their rather creepy masks.
Mistress of the Wind and Lady Flower squealed in a very unladylike fashion. "Oh, my goodness, is that Mulberry Mansion?" They giggled over one another.
Lady Cerulean sighed with delight. "Think of all the cheese that could fit inside that house…"
The mansion was fantastic. It was red and purple and blue, somehow being unique and colorful yet stylish and refined at the same time. Gold accents and balconies sprouted off of the pillars and rooftops at random points. It was gorgeous in its own way.
On the train, Showstopper was talking animatedly to Lady Eclipse, who looked bored. Silver Birch and Gold Rose seemed to be having a polite conversation, though they both looked a little shy. Florence and Madam Snow were exchanging pleasantries.
Mulberry Mansion loomed up until it was right there in front of the train. Or, that's just how it seemed, with its massive size. Really, a few horse-drawn carriages were waiting for them, the cream colored horses impatient.
When the masked guests arrived at Mulberry Mansion, the chatter and gossip began at once. Mostly it was the ones who had been excited on the train. Those who were refined then were still refined now. Showstopper offered his arm to Lady Flower, who giggled and took it.
Without further ado, a butler ushered them into the mansion, checking their invatations.
The room they walked into was grand. It was merely the main hall, but huge chandeliers hung and ornate carved tables dotted the walls.
"It's beautiful!" Squealed Lady Cerulean. She twirled in a circle.
A butler stepped up to them, wearing a black tuxedo and a purple bowtie. "I am sir Gio Violette. Call me Gio. I will await your every need. For now, please follow me to Madam Masquerade. She is waiting for you."
Mistress Bloodmoon twirled around, and then they followed Gio through the mansion. Queen Sunrise admired the house modestly. The Plague Doctor just walked quickly. Señora Crepusculo admired the house politely. Monocle Man continued to be rather scary. He had informed them quietly that if they broke one of his monocles…he had stared into their souls and then suddenly brought his fist down on his hand in a way that implied smashing. Everyone jumped. Well, most everyone, that is.
"Understand?" He'd said. Lady Cerulean nodded for the group and Gio, looking unfazed, had continued walking. Miss Daisy padded softly beside Lady Flower, and the Black Student silently walked with the group.
It seemed that the Plague Doctor, Monocle Man, and The Black Master had been deemed the creepiest, for their reserved ways and disturbing masks. They carried a mysterious, dark air. Lady Eclipse almost was creepy, but she spoke occasionally, and it was to scold others. This made her just annoying, and she was quite haughty.
Actually, everyone was creepy. The guests got a sense of unease from being around people but not being able to see their faces. Everyone thought they'd get used to it, though, and no one gave it too much worry.
"Hello! It's lovely to make your acquaintance!" A voice said from above. Every guest had jumped. Madam Masquerade had that effect on people, and she could be dead silent, too. She was standing on the balcony, in layers of dark purple. The guests could just barely see under her veil, but all they saw there was a white mask, covering her whole face.
"Gio will show you to your rooms. They are the only place you may take off your mask. Then join me for dinner!" And she disappeared.
The guests exchanged glances, and finally Lady Flower spoke up. "How exactly are we supposed to eat when some of us have masks that cover our whole faces?"
"Those of you who have full-face masks will consume your meals in your rooms, and engage in conversation during the dinner hour.
A few of the guests let out appalled gasps. Silver Birch sniffed.
"So we're just supposed to watch them eat?!" Queen Sunrise said indignantly. Gio said nothing, making Sunrise huff in annoyance.
"Ha!" Mistress of the Wind laughed. Silver Birch looked hurt.
"Let us go to your rooms," Gio said, leaving no more room for argument. The guests eyed each other, then followed the butler down the hall.
Once everyone was settled in their rooms, they could finally take their masks off. It was like their aliases faded away, their identities coming back.
Madam Snow sighed happily, lifting off her mask. Who knew it would be so hard to hold up am identity? And masks got uncomfortable, too.
Then, there was a knock on her bedroom door. She rushed over, assuming it was Gio.
She forgot to put her mask back on.
When Madam Snow opened the door, she saw a guest standing there.
"May I help you?" She asked. The guest walked into the room and closed the door in one motion. At that moment, Madam Snow's face drained of color and she reached up to touch her exposed face.
From the other rooms, the guests heard a bloodcurdling scream. They rushed out of their bedrooms, and the hall was full of confusion as they wondered what had happened. Then, there was another scream. The guests followed it to Madam Snow's room.
Mistress Bloodmoon was standing in the doorway. She shakily pointed at the floor. There was a body, with a knife stuck in the heart. There was a moment of silence.
"A murder…?"
"This–I–"
Madam Snow was dead. The guests could all see her face. And her true identity was…
– – – – –
Here's how this will work: whoever was murdered (Madam Snow, in this case) will reply saying their real CBer identity. Then, everyone can discuss and guess who the murderer is–and guess the identities of one another. Remember not to post anything under anything but your masquerade alias, unless you were murdered/discovered.

The Plague DoctorParticipantUm…oh dear. Most unfortunate. I am rather inclined to… um… suspect myself, seeing as I kept a rather… um… low profile during our… um… arrival.
Monocle Man, are you by any chance… um… Howdee?
Black Master, could you… um… be Morning or Kitten?
-
Mistress BloodmoonParticipantYoung Lady
The Court of RubiesOh… Oh my.
Well then, I suppose I suspect The Plauge Doctor, as they were keeping a low profile and had a full face mask, so they would be free to do whatever.
Maybe myself.
I enjoy this greatly, Madam! Keep it up!

Madam MasqueradeParticipantMulberry MansionChapter 2
The guests looked around, horrified.
"Kitty Cat…it was Kitty Cat…they're dead," Lady Flower squeaked after another moment of shocked silence. This started the guests screaming and running around in fear.
Madam Masquerade emerged into the hall. "What is the–oh."
She stared at Kitty Cat for just a heartbeat, then said, "we'll take care of this immediately! No need to worry! Everyone, come down for dinner!" But her voice was a little more high-pitched and wobbly.
The guests, still muttering, walked downstairs to the dining room. It was grand, with gemstones and a large table carved in designs that sat in the middle.
The guests sat down nervously. Suddenly, Florence Flour-Que burst into tears.
"Florence!" Queen Sunrise said gently. Florence continued to cry. Some of the guests looked down sadly, or they sniffed.
Madam Masquerade waltzed into the room, but she carried an uncertain air. "Ahem. Well, for those of you that can eat, um, go ahead. And a warning: keep your door locked. Do not open it for anyone. Kitty has been, uh, taken care of." Her voice wobbled noticeably as she spoke.
The guests that didn't have full faced masks poked at the food that had somehow appeared on the plates when their attention was distracted.
"So," Mistress Bloodmoon said awkwardly. "Um."
That was the extent of the discussion over dinner. Not much was eaten, and most chose to eat in their rooms. The guests parted with little bows, and then departed to their rooms. The lock clicked closed on every door.
No one slept very well that night. Luckily, when Gio came in the morning, there were no more dead guests. Just sleep-deprived ones.
Everyone walked downstairs in a grim manner. A few of the guests had donned black outfits. The Black Master, of course, was already wearing black, and so no one was sure whether or not he was mourning.
The guests were starting to find the meals very annoying. They just sat in uncomfortable silence, and then went to eat in their rooms, with the doors locked. Occasionally, there were some muffled sobs.
"Ahem!" Madam Masquerade said, using her quality to seemingly appear out of nowhere. "Today will be the grand ball. We will be inviting guests from far off to join us in dancing, but of course you are the VIP guests. Please do not mention, um, Kitty Cat. Thank you."
An uncomfortable silence settled for a moment as everyone thought of finding Madam Snow on the floor, unmasked. Florence let out a little sob. Queen Sunrise put their head in their hands.
Madam Masquerade disapleared unnoticed, and the guests filed upstairs to actually eat. The locks closed firmly.
Queen Sunrise took off their mask. Finally! It was such a relief. Then there was a knock on the door. They reached for the doorknob then stopped, remembering Madam Masquerade's warning. Feeling uneasy, they checked the lock and replaced their mask.
There were no more knocks.
A few hours later…
The guests were sitting in the grand living room. It was tea time, but not everyone could drink the tea. It was basically sit around awkwardly time. Again.
Queen Sunrise suddenly stood up. "I'm leaving. This place is just creepy. And there's a murderer on the loose. Something tells me we need to get out lf here right now."
The other guests looked around, and eventually murmured agreement. They hurried over to the big double doors…and found them firmly locked. The lock was a combination lock, and unpickable. There were thirteen different numbers.
"W-why is it locked?" Silver Birch squeaked.
The guests looked at each other. "Something is very, very wrong…" Queen Sunrise said faintly.
Everyone went into a bit of a frenzy, trying to find a way out of Mulberry Mansion. But not only was every exit firmly shut and locked, Gio and Madam Masquerade seemed to have disappeared.
"We're stuck in a mansion with a murderer!" Florence Flour-Que screamed.
Just as the words left her mouth, there was another scream. Everyone ran around from wherever they were, trying to find the cause of the scream. Eventually, everyone was crowded around the bathtub in the upstairs bathroom.
In it was Queen Sunrise. And they were dead, with a bloody knife to their heart.
A few guests fainted.
Suddenly, Mistress of the Wind yelled, "Quiet!" And everyone froze. "The wind-ghosts are telling me something," she whispered. Then the Mistress slowly turned. "L-look…"
The guests followed her gaze to the hallway outside of the bathroom. There was a wispy figure standing there.
"Madam S-snow?" Squeaked Showstopper, without his usual charm.
It was, in fact, Madam Snow. Except, their gown was pale and tattered, and their face belonged to Kitty Cat.
Everyone screamed. "I thought you were dead!" Gasped Mistress Bloodmoon. "A-are you a ghost?"
Kitty nodded, then pointed to the dead body of Queen Sunrise.
"Huh?" Asked Windy.
Kitty pointed to their hand, then pointed back at Queen Sunrise.
Lady Cerulean bent over Sunrise, and gently touched their hand. There was a note in it. With shaking hands, the Lady pulled it out. "It says…it says, to escape, you must play my game. Go to the place where snow fell."
Lady Cerulean dropped the note and stood their, shaking.
"Well, um, I guess let's see who it was?" Lady Eclipse suggested without her usual grace. She was met with only vague nods. Gently, she lifted the mask…

Dead: 2
Revealed: 1 (almost 2!)
Murderer: ???
Escape: Clue #1
Yes, you now must escape Mulberry Mansion while avoiding the murderer. If you were Queen Sunrise, please reply saying who you were.
Who do you think is suspicious? Where do you think you should go first to escape Mulberry Mansion?
-
Gold RoseParticipantThis is excellent! It's such a unique take on a ski lodge, I'm quite enjoying it thus far. I think Florence is a bit suspicuous, and the clue most definitely means go where Kitty died.
I have some guesses as to people's identities! Pea, are you dreamiing? Mistress Bloodmoon, are you Sammy Everlast?
-
Showstopper@GoldRoseParticipantYoung Gent
The Valley of IllusionI do believe we're supposed to wait until the person is murdered or the end of the Solo Write to find out any guests identity.
(But I honestly think Miss Pea is dreamiing too, I'm not quite sure about Mistress Bloodmoon being Miss Everlast, I'm leaning more toward the Miss Emekittycon Kitten side with her.)

QueenSunrise/NightParticipantI was Nightfall.
DEAD ALREADY? Wow I'm so terrible at this XD
Even though I'm dead, I know what this means. I know.
"It says…it says, to escape, you must play my game. Go to the place where snow fell."
Snow. Madam Snow/Kitty Cat. We need to get to Madam Snow's room. ASAP.

honorable and esteemedIntriguing, Madam. Very intriguing. You are manipulating this extremely cleverly, I'm enjoying it a lot, and it's wonderful how quickly you're getting these posts out. Let me see… Mistress of the Wind seemed to be rather suspicious, I believe. And Florence Flour-Que is eliminated as a suspect, since she screamed right as the dying Queen did.
Would you like some cheese?

The Black MasterParticipantUnknown
Moon Myster-CavesAh. Nightfall, Sunrise. How ironic.
/ndeed/
I would not recommend that, my Student. Giving yourself a name completely opposite to who you are is…
/what?/
I… seem to have lost my train of thought. Or else there was not much point in what I was saying. My apologies.
Madam Masquerade, this is quite intruiging. If you wish, you may gather what bits of conversation style you can from my posts.

Lady CeruleanParticipantCould you be Feline Fantasy? Or Lumi?

The Black MasterParticipantUnknown
Moon Myster-CavesCould I be one of the two? Hmm. I wonder. No, I am not. Far from it, they are lovely beings.

I think there might be mulriple murders working together, maybe two of the deemed "creepy people" or all of them! Or maybe one and someone else, I don't know, It's just my theory.
Also, I don't know if you still need this, but here's a bad sketch of my dress and mask!:

Madam MasqueradeParticipantMulberry MansionChapter 3Florence Flour-Que sat down heavily, her hands shaking. "W-what should we do?"
"We should follow the clue," Lady Cerulean said firmly.
"Where snow fell," Gold Rose said, "let's go to Kitty's room."
The guests were nervous, but eventually they followed Gold Rose to Kitty's room. The room was silent and still, and it looked as of it had never been touched. Kitty Cat's body was gone.
Suddenly, the Plague Doctor flinched.
"What is it?" Pea asked, instantly turning to them.
On their shoulder was a note, just like the one that had been in Nightfall's hand. The Plague Doctor paused, then pointed above them, where there was a grate. Just as the guests looked up, paper fluttered down the vent into their faces.
They snatched the notes and peered at the writing. There was one note for every three guests.
"Are they all the same?" Asked Silver Birch.
"No," said Windy, "look."
Each note had two numbers on it. One was above the other. The bottom number was 1-5 and the top number seemed very random, but it didn't go past ten.
"Well what on earth does this even mean?" Asked Mistress Bloodmoon.
"I think I know," Gold Rose said. "Maybe it's a floor number…"
"And a room number," finished the Black Master. Everyone turned to stare at him for a heartbeat.
"Uh, all right, then," said Mistress of the Wind. "I must split into groups."
"What?" Asked Señorita Crepúsculo.
"She's kind of right," Lady Eclipse said calmly. "We have to split into groups of three and head to the rooms on these floors."
Lady Cerulean interrupted. "I'm sorry, but I'm getting hungry. Who wants to go raid the kitchen of their cheese?"
A few of the guests exchanged concerned glances. "You do know people have been murdered and we're locked inside a mansion, correct?" Asked Mistress Bloodmoon. She laughed. "And you can't go alone anyway, so you're wasting our time."
"Well, I can't do any detective work if I'm hungry."
Lady Eclipse rolled her eyes. Or, that's what it seemed like she was doing. You couldn't be sure.
Lady Flower daintily climbed upon a chair and stood up. "Everyone, into groups of three!" She began directing the crowd with her hands. "If it's not quite even, we can have a group of four or five."
Eventually, groups were made. Lady Cerulean and Mistress Bloodmoon decided to stick with Lady Flower. Showstopper, Señorita Crepusculo, and Lady Eclipse (to her annoyance) were in a group. Monocle Man, The Black Master (who was talking quietly to the Student), and the Plague Doctor were in a group, which everyone else stayed away from. This could go on, but let's line this up a little bit nicer:
Lady Flower, Mistress Bloodmoon, and Lady Cerulean
Showstopper, Senorita Crepusculo, and Lady Eclipse
Monocle Man, The Black Master, and the Plague Doctor
The Mistress of the Wind, Pea, and Gold Rose
Silver Birch and Florence Flour-Que were left. After some discussion, Florence was with Lady Flower's group and Silver Birch with Windy's group. Everyone looked at their little papers and set off.
Lady Flower's group had floor #5, room #2. Lady Flower mustered up confidence and looked at her group. "We have to go to the attic."
Florence looked near to tears again, and Mistress Bloodmoon squeezed her hand. Lady Cerulean took her other hand. "It's okay, Florence, we're all here. We're doing this together."
The attic turned out to not be very scary at all. It was the largest attic any of them had ever seen, with chandeliers. The only thing that made it seem remotely attic-y was the feeling of forgotten old things, and the dust that poofed up from the floor as they walked.
"What are we looking for?" Asked Florence shakily.
"Probably another note," said Lady Flower. "Let's start looking in these chests."
They started rummaging through the chests.
"Wow, look!" Mistress Bloodmoon said, holding up an elaborate blue ballgown. "Sorry, I should stay focused. But this place is fascinating."
"I know," said Lady Cerulean. She held a turquoise gown covered in aquamarine and diamonds up to her and looked in an old cracked mirror.
Florence smiled then burst into tears. The others rushed to her side. "What happedned, Florence?"
"Nothing, just…what if we never make it out of here? What if the murderer kills me?"
"Oh, Florence! We'll be right here. Don't worry," Lady Flower said. Lady Cerulean and Mistress Bloodmoon agreed. "We'll stick together."
"O-okay. B-but Nightfall and Kitty, they're dead…"
"I found something!" Lady Cerulean said suddenly. She bent down. There was a piece of paper stuck between the floorboards. She yanked it out.
"It looks like a piece of a word? Did I rip the paper?" Asked Lady Cerulean, frowning. But there was no other paper.
"Oh! I bet we need to get everyone else, and their papers will make up the sentence! Like a puzzle!" Mistress Bloodmoon exclaimed.
"Oh yeah! Let's go!"
Lady Flower helped Florence up and then they all ran downstairs. A couple groups met them, and words were exchanged. It seemed everyone had come to the same conclusion.
Eventually, everyone came back. They started putting the pieces together, but were interrupted by a scream.
Florence Flour-Que was crumpled on the ground. Her heart wasn't beating. She was dead.
Lady Flower gasped. Mistress Bloodmoon and Lady Cerulean ran to her, and they crouched around her.
"Oh no, oh no, oh no," whispered Lady Flower.
"She's dead," said Mistress Bloodmoon quietly. She put her masked head in her head.
"What-how-what happened?" Lady Cerulean asked. The Plague Doctor bent down, and said, "She was…um…poisoned."
Mistress Bloodmoon and Lady Cerulean exchanged glances. They weren't sure if they could believe the creepy guest.
"Well, uh, I guess we should take off her mask…" said Lady Flower. "She was such a good person…"
They lifted Florence's mask gently…
The murderer was content. Their plan was going perfectly.

The Black MasterParticipantUnknown
Moon Myster-CavesHmm. I am female, Madam Masquerade. Strictly speaking I am not irritated by the repeated mistake–my gender has only been mentioned twice, after all–but I thought I would eliminate possible doubt in this.
I believe that the murderer could be one of Flour-Que's teammates, Bloodmoon, Cerulean, or Flower.
/prhps/ /itis/ /thee/ /plage/ /doctr/
It could be. That's quite feasible, seeing as they were the only one who could tell Flour-Que was poisoned.
-
Madam MasqueradeParticipantMulberry MansionOh my goodness I am SO sorry. Somehow I missed that, my brain keeps getting jumbled looking at all of the forms. I see now that it says female she/her in the form, and somehow I am continuously missing things. Apologies, I will fix my mistakes and it will not happen again.

Queen SunriseParticipantI, Queen Sunrise of the Dragons, suspect the Plague Doctor. The '…um….' was very creepy indeed. Hm. Perhaps
Lady Flower is not eliminated. It does not say how the Lady in question was feeling. Therefore, the Lady in question is not eliminated. And the ',uh,' was very suspicious as well.
