Results at last! For those of you who voted for three, I went ahead and counted all three. The indie category includes indie folk. So does the folk category, which also includes traditional music from around the world (as I think that genre is also referred to as folk). Foreign genres of pop are counted under "pop." I counted Tea'n'Tacos' vote for "worship" music as contemporary Christian music, I hope that was correct.

Results:

1. Pop! Leading the way with 8 votes. One vote was for K-pop, two for Latin pop.

2. Indie: Also leading the way with 8 votes.

3. Folk: 5 votes

4. Rock: 2

5. Contemporary Christian music: 2

6. R and B, neo soul, hymns, classical, rap, alternative, country, and musicals, which got 1 vote each.

So the most popular genres are tied for first place, and they are pop and indie, with folk, rock, and contemporary Christian music as other more major genres. This is quite a change from last year, when music from movies/musicals was the most popular. Rock and indie followed, while pop was in third place.  This year there were also votes for genres that weren't even spoken of in last year's voting, like rap. So indie's still popular, but the other genres have changed a lot! 

Hope this was interesting, we should try doing it again next year and seeing what changes have taken place by then… 🙂 Thanks to everyone who participated!
