Somewhere((Ok, I'm actually going to make Orda 5th year instead of 3rd))
~~~~~~~~~
Orda walked through the solid wall between platforms 9 and 10, her small black cat, Nightfall, trotting beside her. She looked at the clock, 15 minutes 'til 11. She boarded the train, Nightfall in front. Wandering through the aisles, she saw her fellow Slytherin, Titus. "Hello," Orda said, sliding open the door, "is it ok if I sit here?"
The Chatterbox!//Rolanda//
Rolanda looked up as Orda walked in. Titus greeted her and told her it was all right to sit down, so Rolanda moved to the other side of the compartment and stared stonily in front of her.
"You're a Muggleborn, aren't you?" Orda asked sharply.
"I don't see how it matters," Rolanda replied coolly. "But to answer your question, yes, I am. And before you make the usual comment about us Mudbloods being stupid," she continued, voice rising, "you might want to notice that I am a RAVENCLAW!"
Orda's mouth opened and shut a few times before she subsided into silence.
Titus, who had been watching the exchange with raised eyebrows, now noticed Rolanda glaring at him and dove into the safety of his book. At that point Sirius Black walked in.
"What do you want?" the two girls yelled at him.
"Nothing," he said, looking taken aback. "I was just…just looking for James, that's all."
"Well, he's not here," Rolanda snapped. "Now go away!"
Sirius ran out of the compartment as fast as he could go.
The Woods betweRaelyn wandered slowly down the corridor. The train hadn’t begun to moveyet, but people outside were hurrying to get on. Compartments were filling upquickly and Raelyn was desperate to find one that didn’t have any of her 5siblings in it, and preferably one that didn’t hold any of her enemies, whichwere many. She noticed Lily Evens up ahead; she was being pulled out of acompartment by her friend Rolonda. Raelyn headed towards them, Lily was decentenough to sit with. Rolonda’s head snapped up when she noticed Raelyn comingtowards them, she told Lily something, then hurried off in the other direction.
Lily had disappeared backinto the compartment and Raelyn grabbed the door. It was slightly sticky, as ifit recently had gum on it, and whoever cleaned it did a bad job. She slid thedoor open and the red seats and shinning trunk racks greeted her. Also twofaces turned as she stepped into the compartment. Raelyn didn’t say anythingbut sat down on the seat on Lily’s side. She glanced carefully at the otherfigure in the small room. Raelyn wasn’t quite sure who it was, names whizzed thoughher mind and finally settled on Snape. Severus Snape, a Slytherin boy in his 5thyear. He had a rather long hawk-like nose, and greasy black hair. He frowned ather when she sat down.
“Don’t you know it’s rudenot to ask to sit?” he sneered.
Raelyn stayed quiet, she knewthat if she said anything it would make her more frustrated, then angry andthen dangerous. She bit her lower lip and sent Snape a glare that shut him up,though it didn’t stop Evens from talking.
“Are you glad to be comingback to Hogworts?” she asked Raelyn pleasantly.
“To early to say” Raelynreplied.-
The Woods betweHmmm some of the words joined together again… Is it just Chatterbox admin? Or does that always happen when people copy and paste?
I think it's copy and paste. Or perhaps you have a sticky space bar? Must be careful with liquids around keyboards, you know…. Delicate instruments, these.
AlexandriaParticipantI really don't know how to do this, so don't make fun of me!
Name: Alexandria Brunner
Age: 11/1st year
House: Ravenclaw
Description: Average height, bright red slightly curly hair, glasses
Likes: Flying, Reading, Transfiguration, Herbology, Potions
Dislikes: Slytherin, snakes, loud and sudden noises, snails, bugs
Best Subjects: Transfiguration, Herbology, Potions
Keeper on Ravenclaw quidditch team
Alexandria stared up at the sign saying 9 3/4. She was scared to death, but she knew that this day would come. A burst of excitement rose up in her stomach. She was finally going to Hogwarts!! As she backed up to go through the passage, a muggle walked by and looked at her. "Crazy kids! They just keep on staring at that wall. Whats so great about a wall?" Alexandria waited for the muggle to walk away, then ran at the wall. She was afraid that she would ram into it, but she walked right though it as if it wasn't there. On the other side was a whole other train station, the Hogwarts Express waiting on the track. As she looked up at the clock she realized that she just made it on time. The train would leave in 2 minutes. She jumped on the train, just remembering her cat. "Sootfur!" she called. Sootfur, a midnight black she-cat, jumped up onto the train and into her arms. She found a nice compartment and sat down, enjoying the view and the steady rocking of the train.
Deep Space((@Kendra: Okay. In that case, anyone else want him?
And does anyone mind if I grab Peter, as well? Because I'm posting as him. If anyone else wants him they can just steal and we'll say no more on the subject.))
//Titus//
A small smile flicked over Titus' face as the chaser peered into the compartment. He waved a hand at the numerous empty seats and said, "As you can see, I'm not really entertaining anyone at the moment. Well, except Rolanda, but I haven't been able to get her to speak much so I'm not sure she would fall under the category of 'person to be entertained'." Titus grinned. "I've been trying to pump her for information on Ravenclaw's strategies this year, but she's not talking."
Roland frowned at him, but Titus carefully ignored this. Orda slipped the rest of the way into the compartment and flopped down by the window. Her cat jumped into the seat beside her.
//Regulus//
Orion and Walburga Black were, so far as Regulus could make out, absolutely incapable of sending him off with anything less than a teary, hug-and-kiss-filled good-bye that could last up to fifteen minutes. This year he only escaped when the five-minute whistle blew and he made a mad dash for the train before they could smother him further. A few other Slytherins helped him heave his trunk into one of the less full compartments, the oldest of them thumping him on the back and saying, "Win us the cup again this year, eh, Black?" before leaving him to his own devices.
Regulus flopped onto the seat, and let out a huge sigh. Last year he'd snatched the snitch out from under the Gryffindor seeker's nose, breaking the Gryffindor three-year winning streak. A minute later a bludger had hit him full in the face and he'd entirely missed the celebration, but the rest of the team assured him that it had been lavish and great fun. As far as Regulus could see, though, all he had done was get lucky; earlier in the game one of the Gryffindor beaters had been knocked out when he took a bludger to the back of the head and there hadn't been a replacement available, and then their best Chaser, James, had broken his arm when he rolled away from a bludger and hit the stands instead. His rather spectacular recovery (dropping like a stone for ten feet before catching the quaffle one-handed and making a goal from halfway across the field before he lost consciousness completely) had proved a sufficient distraction for the other seeker and Regulus had made a wild grab which, spectacularly, had ended with the snitch clasped firmly in his hand. It had been pure luck, nothing more.
His reverie was interrupted when the compartment door slid open.
//Severus//
Lily grinned. "I know I'm excited," she said, and Severus felt his face relax out of the scowl. It was impossible to be upset with Lily around. It was the way her eyes lit up when she smiled. Or maybe it was just that she was so indiscriminately nice all the time. The other girl, Raelyn or whatever her name was, seemed entirely unaffected.
"It's our O.W.L. year," Lily continued, her eyes gleaming, "I'm horribly nervous, of course…"
Severus grimaced. He'd been trying not to think about the O.W.L.s he would be taking at the end of the year. His… other friends were all confident of a full set of O's, and seemed to expect the same confidence from Severus. He knew he would get top marks in potions, and probably charms as well, but as to the rest of the classes… His stomach started to twist horribly whenever he thought of it.
Raelyn said nothing.
//Peter//
There were ink stains on Peter's fingers. He'd noticed them on the way to Platform 9 and 3/4, and thus far no amount of coaxing with his wand would get rid of the bluish splotches. Peter settled for balling his hands into fists and shoving them deep in his pockets. He'd ask Remus for help later, he decided.
Peter sniffed as he squeezed his way down the corridor, past a lot of people who were taller than him and disinclined to move out of the way. He considered trying to get to the back of the train as a rat, but decided it wasn't worth the risk of being stepped on. Instead, he elbowed backs and stepped on toes and muttered a constant stream of apologies. No one really noticed. No one ever really noticed Peter, with his plain light brown hair and nondescript appearance.
He made it to the end of the train at last, and sidled into the compartment that James and Sirius had long ago staked out as their own. Peter was last to arrive, and he sat down across from Remus as the train lurched to a start. He didn't say anything beyond a basic hello to the other three Mauraders, because recently his voice had started cracking horribly and reaching octaves that Peter had always thought reachable only by the very best sopranos.
SomewhereOrda sat down by the window, Nightfall close behind. The small cat mewed repeatedly, making the girl jump. "What?" Orda said to the cat. "I've no idea what you're talking about." Nightfall crossly jumped to another seat. "Sorry," said Orda, "he doesn't know what he's talking about. But why would it matter anyways, since you don't know what he's talking about either?" Nightfall hissed. "Oh stop it!" Orda cried, scooping the cat up, "you're fine." Titus grinned, "I didn't know you could speak to him." "I just found out I can about two months ago. Ever since then he's been insulting me." She set the cat down, reached up into her trunk, got out a book titled Runes of the Dragon, and started to read.
AlexandriaParticipantThe train was pulling into the Hogwarts Station, and Alexandria walked out of her compartment, Sootfur right at her heels. She jumped out of the train and boarded the boat to Hogwarts. She was nervous to death, and she would give anything to find out what house she was in. But she really didn't want to be in Slytherin. All of the Slytherins on the train looked mean and cruel, and she didn't want to end up that way. I wonder what it would be like in Gryffindor? She pictured herself being brave, tall, and holding a sword about to slay a dragon. Or what about Hufflepuff? She pictured herself being true and loyal to everybody, even Slytherins. She was already like that, so it wasn't hard to picture it. Or even Ravenclaw! Now she had A's on every test and quiz. Before she knew it, she was getting off of the boat and walking into Hogwarts.
Best class: Transfiguration
~~Part 1~~
Ingrid wiped a trickle of sweat from her forhead. She, her parents, older brother, Dave and younger brother, Peter, were riding in a rental car to Kings Cross Station. It felt much hotter inside the car than outside.
"Dad?" Ingrid started.
"Yes," replied her Dad.
"Dad, can you turn on that air conditioner thing? It's hot in here"
Her father paused. "We don't want to waste electrikeety, now, do we?"
"But Dad," Ingrid's older brother, Dave. "Air conditioners don't run on electricity."
"Well, I just don't want to mess with it right now, okay? I'm trying to drive."
"And you don't know how to work it," mumbled Dave.
"You can roll down your windows by the knob-thing, though," said their Dad.
"Which way should I turn the knob-thing?" Asked Ingrid.
Her Dad paused again apparently not knowing the answer, but he was saved from Dave saying "Hey, I've got it!" And he sure did. He had the window rolled all the way down now, but the air was so still outside that onky a little bit of air was coming through the window, only enough to cool down Dave and Peter.
"Which way did you turn the knob-thing to make the window go down?" Ingrid asked.
Dave grinned at her evilly and said "I'm not telling." Ingrid was so fed up with his childish behavior that she aimed a blow at Dave's head and suceeded.
"Hey!" he yelled. "You're a prefect now, you can't go along hitting people." Ingrid rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, settling back into her seat.
Once at the Train Station, Ingrid and Peter got a trolley to put all there things on and began rolling it towards Platform 9 3/4- the magical platform that took them to the Hogwarts Express. Their parents and Peter following close behind, Dave and Ingrid walked quickly into the platform between 9 and 10 and appeared on Platform 9 3/4.
"You have everything?" Their mother asked from behind them, checking her watch.
Ingrid and Dave did a quick check of all their belongings on the trolley and said in harmony "Yes mum."
"Okay, good", she said. "You only have about a minute, so lets all say good bye now." So they all hugged and kissed eachother goodbye and said their last farewells. Dave and Ingrid then hopped onto the train, handing their luggage to the men who worked on the train.
Ingrid was about to walk down the hall to try and find her friends when Dave stopped her. "Listen," he said. "During this year, try not to follow me around, talk to me, aske me questions, or anything like that, alright?"
"I've never followed you, talked to you, or even asked you any questions in past years, so why would I start now?" Ingrid said smartly. "And why are you telling me all this right now?"
"Because," Dave started. "I have N.E.W.T.s this year. I need to concentrate on studying."
Ingrid highly doubted this was the cause, but she didn't really care anyway, so she went off down the hall peering into compartments. She passed one with four boys in it, one having jet black hair and glasses, the second having also black hair but without glasses, another had light brown hair and a badly scarred face, and the last somehow looked smaller than the rest with sandy colored hair. Ingrid recognized these at once, they were always making trouble. The two with black hair-James and Sirius were their names, if Ingrid remembered correctly- were the ones who mainly cause the trouble. The boy with the badly scarred face- "Loopy Lupin" the mean students called him, but Ingrid thought that was a very rude thing to say- didn't seem to be all that bad, even though he did get detention sometimes with James and Sirius. He just seemed to want to fit in. The last boy, the smaller looking one, was the kind of person that Ingrid would call a pathetic person.
Ingrid moved on and finally found her two friends, Lucy and Penelope. She sat down with them in the compartment. They all started jibbering very fast- they hadn't seen eachother very much over summer break. Penelope showed Lucy and Ingrid a new purse she had gotten that was large enough to hold all her books, ink and quills. It was deep royal blue, almost a dark purple, with silver jewels encrusted along the brim of the purse and elegent silver stitching on the long shoulder strap. Lucy and Ingrid doted on it for a while, admiring all the little nifty compartments hidden inside. After a while, what felt like luchtime, they all said they were feeling hungry. They sat back, not talking as much now, and waited for the food trolley to come.
Elizabeth H.ParticipantOkay… i have not written anything since i posted the comment about what my charecter's name is…… well I've lost my inspiaration, and now quite franky I do not care about Emily anymore, and I have been preoccupied for a while and now I can't keep up with what is going on in this thread. So, mabie I'll just be that annoying person that says "capatlize the begining of each sentence" o r"actually so-and-so is in year 4, not year 2" or "wouldn't it be great if you did this to your story," so from now on I will just give input and corrections, but don't expect a lot from me.
DawnpawParticipantThis seems like fun, so I will join, okay?
Name: Ailyn Diwy
Gender: Female
Age/year: 15/5th year
House: Ravenclaw
Electives: Care of magical creatures, Ancient runes, Arithmancy
Best class: Transfiguration
Favorite class: Defense against the Dark Arts
Physical description: Ailyn is a tall and rather thin girl. She has long, wavy black hair and green eyes. She has long fingers and rather pale skin.
Personality: Ailyn is very friendly and likes being around people. She is loud and talkative. She also likes playing the guitar, which she is quite good at. She is outgoing and likes meeting new people. However, her talkativeness can get her in to trouble. She can also be rather hyper and annoying. She gets mad rather easily, but when she is mad…Well…Let's just say she gets very mad. She also isn't very good at controlling her emotions, making her easy(and fun) to tease. She can also be rather clumsy.
Other: Ailyn has a secret ability. She tries to hide it from others, but it can be very hard for her. She can transform in to an animal. But not just any animal! She was somehow born with the ability to transform in to a phoenix! A black phoenix that can control fire! But she sometimes has the urge to transform in front of people that anger her and torch them, which, as you imagine, would be a very bad thing.
