Germany: 6 DaysOk, then… Worst Singers and BEst Singers!
-
ImaParticipantOh… I don't listen to music much, and when I do, I don't usually keep track of the singer. I don't like the way most country and metal singers sound, though, and I think Gemma Luna sings well. (I've no idea what her genre is, but for those who have The Looking Glass Wars Soundtrack, she sang Thru The Looking Glass and Puddles.)

Maybe his next word will be frog!

ImaParticipantThey look the same to me, but I've programmed everything on my computer to show up in a weird, medieval font.

OreganoParticipant13
the spice rackWhoa. How did you do that??
@ the Admins – no, he says bteu. Gesundheit! (Or however you spell that.) I know some people who sneeze like that.
You spelled it right!
Admin
-
ImaParticipantIt depends on the computer. I tampered around with the settings; I don't remember exactly what I did, but if you have a Windows like me, I'll tell you.
-
OreganoParticipant13
theloveseatgardenspiAh. No. We only have Macs, but they do have (most anyway) a Windows side. However, I don't have an account there and never use it.
Now Spammy says wutu. Tutu? Woohoo? Voodoo?

theloveseatgardenspiJust for a different topic, what's your favorite word?
Spammy, what's your favorite word? Hmmm? Ah, he says… cfcx. Smart Spammy.

CharlotteParticipant13
Ummmmmmm….favorite word. Nourishment….I love the way it flows of your tongue and it fits it's meaning so well. I'm weird… I like the word weird too, and Grammar, and Wolf, and Dragon.

Claire EParticipant12.5
Wisconsin@ Oregano
Favorite word? it would have to be …….. (drumroll)
QUIRKY!!!!!
here is why:
1. It starts with a q, and Q's are awsome.
2. It is yet another word for weird, crazy, odd, which describes me pretty well…..
3. It has that perfect combo of letters, from the harsh K, to the kind R, to the smart Y, plus the I who knows it all and the Q and U who are always together….
4. Um duh. It's AWSOME!
H'm, R is kind, I never realized that before!
Admin
Spammy says he likes the word mnyx.
what exactly is that??? Google looks confused.
Oh well…..

OreganoParticipant13
theloveseatgardenspiFloccinaucinihilipilification. Look it up. I can't imagine using it!
-
Elizabeth M.Participant11
Germany:12 in 4 DaysHmm… Ecastic and giggle and …
-
-
ImaParticipantI'm not sure what my favorite word is, but here are some of them: I love the sound of pickelhaube, pfeffernuss, floccinaucinaucinihilipilificate, higgledy-piggledy, einkorn, and cnidnarian. I also love neologism for its double meanings. The word crotchet is very convenient when you get a brooch version (or 4) of an eccentric interest (like tardigrades!). Tardigrade is also an excellent word, but I prefer the term ‘moss piglet.’ I’m not sure why I never use it, actually…. I also like tingo, sysygy, susurrus, quark, smock, zing, mycorrhiza, nudibranch, astringent, octopodes, sphygmomanometer zard, kerf, song, viscacha, twonk, erkling, floccinaucinihilipilification, chyme, agog, voortrekker, qiviut, tenebrionid, pediddle, tittle, dibble, and tesserae. Katzenjammer, bibliotheca, bambino! Bibliophile! Xenomorphida, arctisconia! Quaeritate, millieacious. Samisen. Quincux. Obloquy. Ophicleide. Mellifluous, lugubrious, mnemonic. Tintinabulation. Obsequious. Macaronic. Coxcomb. Kinnikinick! Scofflaw! Vroom! Myrmecophile! Teleost! Bismuth! Aschelminth! Furcae! Peribuccal lamellae! Xenophagous.

OreganoParticipant13
the middle of life.Floccinaucinihilipilificate! Where did you FIND that word??? I couldn't find it in our dictionary. Incidentally, the way I found floccinaucinihilipilification was completely random. I was bored and looked up words starting with flo. 🙂
-
ImaParticipantIt's not in mine, either. I learned it from ZNZ–or was it ML? I don't remember.
-
I <3 Black Holes!!!!Participant13
PlutoWhat does floccinaucinihilipilification mean? I love black holes!!!!!!!!!!! Someone say they do too. I don't like being lonely. This is really random. I am rrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeaaaaaaallllllllllyyyyyyyy BORED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It means:
an act or instance of judging something to be worthless or trivial Etymology: the parts of the word each mean 'at nothing' or 'with a small price'

Never LandMy favorite words are pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, awkward, and gyroscope. Oh, and strenuous. My friends and I have a running joke about the word strenuous. It came from when we were walking up a hill at science camp, and we spent the whole time yelling, "Strenuous! Strenuous! Strenuous!" 🙂 Does anyone else have a running joke from a really long time ago?
-
OreganoParticipant13
and then some...YIKES!!! WHAT does pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis mean?????? And our dictionary says that floccinaucinihilipilificatiousness was the longest word in the English language.. it looks so puny now.
pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis Part of Speech: n Definition: supposedly the longest word in a dictionary, an artificial word said to mean a lung disease caused by the inhalation of silica dust Admin
-
ImaParticipantHow could I have forgotten that word?! It's one of my favorites. Well, I don't know anyone with it, so I've never had the opportunity to use it…
-
OreganoParticipant13
Inkwell? Oh no, CaC.WOW.
-
-
-

-
ImaParticipant@ Oregano? Really? I can't imagine not being able to imagine using it–or any word, really. There are some words I floccinaucinihilipilificate, but I can imagine using them whether or not I would in real life. It's quite easy.
@ Elizabeth: Thanks!
@ Black Hole Lover: I can't see your comment yet, but I agree with your name!

living my lifeWhen you go to college, would you want a roommate or would you want a room of your own?
Good question to think about, Oregano!
Admin
-
Elizabeth M.Participant12!!!!!!!!
GermanyI would love my own room but having someone to be with sounds nice. But what if I didn't like the person?
-
ImaParticipantMy own room, unless the roommate was someone I knew REALLY well and loved like a family member. An immediate one, I mean, not just a cousin (mine aren't too close to me; we've little in common).
-
Claire EParticipant12.5
WisconsinUm, well…I guess It would depend…..It would be nice to have my own room, but if the roommate was nice or something, I guess it would be fine.
New Question!!!!
So this is kind of a stupid/weird question, but what animal do you remind yourself the most of and why.
I think I am like a……um……zebra? because they are kind of like horses (and theoretically regular people are horses) but totally different and cool..So yeah, that's my confusing answer…
~Claire~
Spammy says
-
ImaParticipantHm… I don't know. I'm similar to a zebra in the same way as you, but I don't think my personality is similar to a zebra's. A prairie dog? No, they're too good at communicating. A meerkat? No… I think maybe a tortoise. No, a turtle. Yes, that. I'm slow and like water. Of course, tardigrada sum, but I certainly can't presume to have powers anything like theirs…

OreganoParticipant13
dreaming of fabricI'd rather have a roommate myself. I like having someone I don't know totally intimately to talk to. The idea of being totally alone in a room is kind of lonely and – call me a sissy if you will – a bit scary. Though at least at the college I have intended myself for (since the age of eight. Yes, I know) automatically gives you a roomate freshman year, and after that you enter a housing lottery and unless you're really unlucky you can choose.
Spammy/TDM: ozhg!!!!!
-
ImaParticipantReally? I'm completely the other way around. I'm perfectly fine on my own, but I get nervous when I have to talk to people I don't know.
Re: Heights: Actually, I love them!
-
-
-
-
Princess P.ParticipantUmmm…I think I'd like a room to myself, though I wouldn't mind sharing a room with someone, as long as they aren't messy and they don't stay up late or snore.
-
Claire S. Participant11
MOI would be a little self-conscious about it but I would like it. I would like to matched up with someone who is like me, instead of someone that is totaly different from me. Sammt are you afraid of heights? I am.
-
OreganoParticipant13
dreaming of fabric@Claire S.: Yes. A bit. Sometimes. But then I've never been up that high.
@whoever asked this question: Cat, maybe? Unpredictable, attempting to be self-sufficient (and succeeding as far as I can try), likes to eat meat, has prominent ears. Ha. Ha. Ha?
Spammy/TDM: ibvc?!!???!??!?!?
