Dear Chatterbox Community,
For 18 years, Chatterbox has been home to the most creative, thoughtful, and caring community of young readers, writers, artists, and friends. From RPs to Ski Lodges, Picturings to Poems, and Kyngdom to Zoodles, Chatterbox has connected Cricket readers all over the world. As Cricket magazine continues to evolve, we want you to know that Chatterbox will officially close on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 5pm Central Time.
This is the end of a chapter, but not the end of the story. The magic of Chatterbox and the connections you have all formed live on in every CBer, past and present. Please keep in touch with us, writing to Cricket’s Letterbox and sending your writing and art to Cricket League so subscribers will still be able to read what you’re up to. Cricket magazine isn’t going anywhere, so watch the pages for exciting future updates.
For now, please continue to create, post, talk, and share. But we also encourage you to take time to process, wrap up ongoing writing projects, and save your work. The Admins will host a LIVE CHAT on Thursday, May 28th at 3pm Central Time, as a way for you all to connect in real time.
We Admins thank all of you for brightening our days by sharing your thoughts, activities, and writing with us for so many years! Chatterboxers and their amazing writing will always hold a special place in all of our hearts. We know change can be hard. But Chatterbox will always live on in the realm of imagination.

Oh nooo :((((( I’m gonna miss this place sm :’( I don’t come on too frequently anymore, but thanks for almost 6 years of fun, freedom, and just good place, and for one of my best friends. I’ll forever miss it!! Also, @Admin, is there a specific reason?

)): I can’t believe CB is closing…I never thought that this would happen. It’s been a crazy journey with everyone, such an amazing experience, and I really can’t believe that it has to end.
@admin, I’m curious, what was the decision that led to deciding to close Chatterbox?

We know this is hard news. Chatterbox has been a special place for many years, and we are so grateful for everything CBers have created here.
As Cricket continues to grow and change, we are focusing our time and energy on other ways to serve kids, readers, writers, and families. That means Chatterbox will be coming to an end, but Cricket magazine is continuing.
We hope you’ll keep reading, writing, creating, and staying connected with us through the magazine.

Sadly no, you will not be able to visit here after June 1st. If there is writing you wish to save we encourage you to do so. And you can always view pages from the site via the Wayback Machine.

What? Gone for good? No more CB? I won’t be able to celebrate my first CBversery!! July 9th btw. Well, thanks Admins for all your hard work and dedication to the site. I’ll miss it.

We will never say never, but there are not plans to bring it back right now. Cricket is always thinking about new ways to inspire kids and families. We can’t share details right now, but we hope you’ll keep watching the pages of Cricket for future updates and announcements.
Your creativity, writing, art, and ideas still matter to us very much.

Oh my gosh. This literally feels like a bad dream. This has been such a huge part of my life and I love everyone on here so much. Please please please admins is there some way that we can share ways to contact each other outside of the Chatterbox if it’s closing?? PLEASE.

I’m sorry, but we still can’t allow you to share contact or other social media information. We completely understand you all want to remain connected, but safety has to remain our top priority.

Wow, and just after I started writing a Ski Lodge, and telling everyone I was going to leave painted rocks in the airports. Just wow. Honestly, with the magazine getting updated, I’m surprised I didn’t see this coming. The former CBers coming back for the reunion are going to burst into tears.
I am going to try to finish my Ski Lodge before the site gets shut down. It will probably be the last completed Ski Lodge on the site. I am still going to leave painted rocks at the airports for ya’ll, because you all are awesome, and it’ll be a nice parting gift. I wish I could have gotten to experience my 1st CBversary, as I haven’t yet, but I suppose all good things must come to an end at some point. My time here was short, but I’ve really enjoyed chatting with you guys. You all are awesome.
I’m going to miss this place so much. 😭

Speaking of CBverseries, my CBversery is seriously in less than 2 months. July 8. I’m gonna not be on the CB for it!! Nooooo. I’m like, crashing out over here.
