Ok just hear me out on this one guysGuestOkay so I didn’t put my name on this because the idea may totally just fall flat but I had a thought…
This might not work or something like this may already exist but what if there was a way for CBers to find each other outside of the CB. I’m not suggesting that we share locations or anything because helllooooo? online safety, obviously. But what if there was a saying we had that you could say to see if someone else was a CBer or like a doodle you could do on the back of your hand that someone else from the CB could recognize. Something like that. And I know that the chances of two CBers running into each other in the real world is pretty low because there aren’t a whole lot of us but you never know, right? Just a thought anyway.

Milky WayThat’s a great idea! Maybe the phrase could be something like “Zoodles” or “Were you the last to post?” or some other specific thing like that.

Milky WayOk, I just got an idea. Bookmarks in library books and painted rocks with CB references on them.
The thing about painted rocks is that if someone finds one, they have to hide it again somewhere else. So even if we don’t live in the same area, we could still find each other’s rocks! -
Moon WolfGuestlunars
full flower moonI remember that there was a thread like this a few years back! The saying we had come up with was “Do you hear the crickets chirping?” because you could bring it up in a conversation easily if it falls silent, passing as both a funny comment and a secret CBer saying.
Ooh but the painted rock idea sounds pretty good! Especially if you put it in a well-known place (if it’s allowed there). -

Milky WayLIGHTBULB MOMENT! I am going to leave 10 painted rocks that say Cricket on it nearby some trees and plants close to the main entrance of my local airport, along with a note saying that if you have found these rocks, take one of them with you wherever you’re flying to, and hide it in some trees and plants close to the main entrance of the airport you land in! (And I looked it up, and airport security does allow rocks!)
I’ll send you photos on here of all the rocks, so you know what to look for. Then, just make sure you are nearby the main entrance of your local airport sometime within the next 5 days, and you might get a rock from me and can send a picture of it if you do! If some of you make some rocks too, then we can increase the probability that we find some from one another!
I don’t live near any mega famous places unforch, but I’ll be sure to use the codeword! I might even say it while stroking my chin, to make it a little bit more obvious.

Milky WayYeah, so, I just got sick… It might take a while for me to paint the rocks. But don’t worry, I will still do it! It’d be awesome to give you guys an IRL gift.😊

HawkstarGuestMe just asking if anyone has heard of the Chatterbox if I talk to teens lol

ThalorwinGuestThis is an amazing idea!! I think I’ll custom make a shirt that I wear every time I go outside that says “were you the last to post?” Like how Pea Vine suggested. This is such a cool idea and I would love to meet any of you guys irl. I’ll put bookmarks in books at my library. It could say inside, like, were you the last to post? #cricket or something like that. And it could say like, give to someone to put in their local library on vacation. So it could “get around.” Good idea for the bookmarks or no?

ChicagoBlueGuestCallMeChicago
Yayyy! Guys I was the one who posted this and Im so glad that you all like the idea!!! I think I’m going to make some bookmarks to leave in Library books that say “do you hear the crickets chirping” and things like that. I live in a fairly big city (not huge but you would have definitely heard of it (and no it’s not Chicago) and I’ll leave some painted rocks around some iconic/touristy sites here.
I think we should have a response to ‘do you hear the crickets chirping’ though, so that it won’t get confusing if a friend randomly says yes or something. Maybe like “only in the chatterbox” or “that’s what old cricket would say” or something like that. This is so fun!

CoyoteGuestPenny LaneI love this idea! If someone finds a bookmark or rock or something please post that you did and what it looks like so that whoever made it can say so and you can make that connection. I’ll definitely be making some rocks
