ParticipantRegular poetry thread (because I’m tired of not editing my poems)
This is exactly what it sounds like! A thread to post poetry. I’m excited to read all of your work!

Guestthanks for making a new one, admins!
we’re writing ecopoetry in english class and this is my first draft. feedback would be super helpful 🙂 I also need a title…
you always thought that pigeons were the worst part of new york, even
more than the i <3 ny t-shirts & crime rates & smog, but i
disagreed, maybe because there was something in those
beady eyes and watercolor plumage that
was a little endearing,
& though i never called the feathered automatons cute i
appreciated how they peered cross-eyed & addle-brained
into humanity’s highs and lows but
judged us all equally,or maybe i just liked the way you’d
laugh when you saw them
fight over a crust of bread like their cousins the seagulls, who were the same
creature but with a sailor’s mouth, with the same
natural stupidity as any chicken but they were not quite proud enough to say
cock-a-doodle-doo so i suppose pigeons will
fade into history, having become that extra daily reminder
to share a morning bagel and coffee with someone you love &
to not destroy the world.-

Guestomg that’s absolutely amazing! I don’t know much about ecopoetry but I would imagine that you’ve captured the essence of an ecological message – focusing on something from nature, but using it to talk about human problems and sustainability and having a good society. It’s also just very well-written, it feels emotional but measured.

A Celestial SkyDay 2 of the April poems:
Time Wanderer
My dear Wanderer,
Who has found this through time and space—
Where is the spark of zealergy
In your nostalgia-touched eyes?
“Not all who wander are lost” but
You are timeless like a horseshoe crab—
Perhaps you are searching for your lost phone
Which was last seen in the 18th century
Or are you simply out of time—like me? -
