Welcome to The...

Welcome to The Bookworm: Book Blog!

So I figured I'd start a place where all of the bookworms out there can talk about their favorite books. The Bookworm is the place to be!

I'm a bookworm myself, so I will also be posting book recommendations and I will stay active on this blog. At The Bookworm, you can post book recommendations for the "Genre of the Month". Each month, the genre will be changed, or depending how popular the genre is. The new genres of the month will be posted in the comments below at the end of each month.

This page is kind of like my Fiction Fan Club Page, but The Bookworm is open to all kinds of books- not just fiction! That includes biographies, poetry, autobiographies, fantasy, science fiction- you name it!

And it's ok not to post recommendations about the "Genre of the Month". Please post your "good reads" about any topic, too! But I will be posting recommendations for each "Genre of the Month", so check back to see what books I recommend!

The Bookworm will always be updated at least twice a week, so check back to see what's new.

Be sure to ask any questions you have in the comments below!

Enjoy posting on the Bookworm! Happy Reading everybody!

The "Genre of the Month" for November 2013 is: Mystery!

For Mystery, I recommend the Nancy Drew Mystery Stories series by Carolyn Keene. The books are great reads if you love a good mystery. They always keep me at the edge of my seat! I also recommend that you read the books in order, too. There are 50+ books in the series. I actually never finished the series, since I only read until Book 6 (The Secret of the Red Gate Farm).

For younger girls, you can join Nancy Drew in her younger years in the Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew series. Young Nancy Drew and her friends solve smaller cases.

Anyone have great mystery books they would like to recommend? Post them here!

Here are some quotes about reading that I like!

"We read to know that we are not alone." -William Nicholson

"Reading gives us somewhere to go when we have to stay where we are." -Unknown

"I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book." -Groucho Marx

"You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me." -C. S. Lewis

"If one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again,  there is no use in reading at all." -Oscar Wilde

If you have some quotes about reading that you like, please post them here!

Nina -

That's a cool idea. I love the Nancy Drew mysteries, and I have a cool fact about them: "Carolyn Keene" (please notice the QUOTATION MARKS) actually did not write the entire series. Many different authors wrote the books, under the same pen name: Carolyn Keene. Who knows if she was a real person?!

I love the Percy Jackson series - they're amazing! Annabeth rules! I don't care what any of you say, she's the best character in every single book.

I recommend the book BREATHE by Sarah Crossan! Seriously, check it out!!!

See Y'all!

@ Nora the Singer: I knew that "Carolyn Keene" was not a real author, it was a pen name. Who could possibly write 50+ books in the same series?! I'm not saying that it's not possible, but how would you possibly do that?

Thanks for posting, Nora! Hope you post here again soon.

For Mystery, I recomend . . .  .The Cat Royal series! They are Historical Fiction Mysteries and are absolutly hilarious (partly because of Cat's 'colorful' langauge). They about an orphan named Cat Royal who lives in the Royal Theater, Drury Lane, England. It plays at about the time of the French Revolution and the colonial times in America. It's a really good read!

I had something else I wanted to recomend, but I can't remember it right now, hm . . . .

Here's a cute photo of a bookworm I found online. It could be great for The Bookworm's mascot!

Sorry, Nina. If you didn't create the art we can't post it due to rights concerns.
