Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Favorite Book Quotes
I don't know...

I don't know about all of you people, but I really love quotes. In my basement, I have a large bulletin board that I post all my favorite quotes (and stuff like that) on. I was thinking that we could all start posting quotes that we like alot. They can be funny, or inspiring, serious, anything you want...

To start it off, here's mine:

"Just remember that sometimes, the way you think about a person isn't the way they actually are." -John Green (of course:)

"'You want the taste of dried leaves boiled in water?'

'Er, yes.  With milk.'

'Squirted out of a cow?'

'Well, in a manner of speaking I suppose...'

'I'm going to need some help with this one.'"

Here are the first few I can think of:

"One does not simply walk into Mordor." ~The Fellowship of the Ring.

"He thrust his beard into his mouth, stared tragically into the fire, then began to munch on it fiercely." ~The Once and Future King.

"You have curious notions about heroes. I have never known a man's courage to be judged by the length of his hair. Or, for the matter of that, whether he has any hair at all." ~The Book of Three.

I'll think of more later!

This could take a while. Once I get started on one book, it's hard to stop!

“I have hated words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right.”
― Markus Zusak, The Book Thief

“A DEFINITION NOT FOUND
IN THE DICTIONARY
Not leaving: an act of trust and love,
often deciphered by children”

― Markus Zusak, The Book Thief

“How did you die?"
"We er....drowned in a bathtub."
"All three of you?"
"It was a big bathtub.”

― Rick Riordan, The Lightning Thief

“She'd also called me brave...unless she was talking to the catfish.”

― Rick Riordan, The Lightning Thief

Have to stop now, but here's one more.

"A #2 pencil and a dream can take you anywhere."

 ― Joyce A. Myers.

I think all of The Book Thief is one of my favourite quotes.  Everything.  Especially everything with Rudy.

YES! It is an AMAZING book. I Was just rereading it, and even though I've read it so many times, it hasn't lost it's greatness. Maybe I should just copy/paste all of the book here. I could have gone on forever with quotes from The Book Thief, but had to limit myself.

I ought to read it. As a rule, I don't read teen fiction, but since it's historical and seems not all just romance and inane dialogue, maybe I'll give it a shot. Everyone seem to adore it, anyway.

Yes, READ The Book Thief! It puts sappy, terrible, stereotypical YA to shame. I mean, how many books do you know are narrated by Death himself? (Yes, Death is a man.) I've seen people from all age groups enjoy it, and any romance which may or may not be in it is written well--more implied than insta-love.

Definitely, it is full of great quotes. The Book Thief was a really good book (though very sad.) I think it's a very different approach to Holocaust fiction, but in a good way- it's not sappy and hopeful, and it's about regular German citizens' life. I've told all my friends to read this book.

The Book Thief? IT'S AWESOME! My family and I took a trip to California, and on the plane ride home I watched the movie. Usually I think that movies based on books are dumb because they always leave out parts, but the movie The Book Thief was awesome! Even though they did leave out one part that I think I would have like to see. Otherwise, I thought it was great.
